FOXX LENDS VOICE TO HOMELESS HOTLINE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:27 pm

Actor JAMIE FOXX has reached out to homeless kids across America by recording a message for a crisis telephone helpline.
The actor stars as a mentally-challenged musician who becomes destitute in new movie The Soloist.
And as part of a social action campaign for the film, Foxx has recorded an inspiring message for Nineline.
The hotline, which received more than 45,000 calls from at-risk kids last year (08), was established by Covenant House, a social services organisation working with displaced youths in the U.S.
And Covenant House President Kevin Ryan is convinced Foxx’s charitable gesture will help several at-risk youngsters get through difficult times.
Ryan says, "Now kids in crisis will not only hear a reassuring voice but a well-known, positive role model. I’m convinced that hearing Jamie’s voice will be the difference for kids who might otherwise get scared and hang up before we can help. This is a tremendous gift to our kids."

HARRY POTTER STARS GET BENJAMIN BUTTON AGEING TREATMENT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:39 am

The stars of HARRY POTTER are getting a makeover from the team behind BRAD PITT’s transformation for THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON - they’re set to be digitally aged for the final movie.
Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint are currently filming for the last two-part movie of the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
The epilogue of the J.K. Rowling novel takes place 19 years in the future, when their characters are in their thirties.
But instead of casting older actors to play them, movie bosses are using digital technology to age them - the same technique used in Pitt’s hit film.
Producer David Heyman says, "We were looking at different ways of doing it, other actors and so on. And then we saw The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and that ageing technology so I think we’ll try that because I’d feel terrible about having other people take those parts at the last gasp." However, Radcliffe is worried about the ageing process - insisting he’d rather another actor portray an older Harry Potter rather than risk it going wrong.
He says, "If it’s good I’ll be really pleased but I’m just nervous about the idea. If it’s not good and that’s what people are left with that would be awful.
"If it came to a choice between having me, Emma and Rupert looking a bit stupid and it being slightly comical or having other actors play us I would go for the other actors every time." But he’s adamant that he and his other co-stars will do their best to cast their magic in the scenes.
Radcliffe adds, "Having now seen Benjamin Button I know that it can be done and it’s going to be up to me, Rupert and Emma to look older and try to get that."

UGK star Pimp C died in December 2007 partly due to his addiction to the drink, but Wayne is adamant he will never give up the vice - or even quit his love of marijuana.
And he credits his faith and determination to succeed in his career with helping him to keep his habits under control.
He says, "I depend on God and motivation. I don’t depend on cough syrup and marijuana.
"In terms of smoking, I love to smoke, yes."

KNIGHTLEY’S ANTI-DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVERT BANNED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:00 am

An anti-domestic violence advert starring KEIRA KNIGHTLEY has been banned from British television after it was branded too violent by advertising censors.
The Atonement star plays an actress returning home from a film set to be confronted by a violent boyfriend who accuses her of having an affair with a co-star, before attacking her and knocking her to the floor.
The harrowing promo - made for U.K. charity Women’s Aid - ends with Knightley being repeatedly kicked on the floor, and advertising approval body Clearcast has deemed the scene too violent for broadcast.
The advert, called The Cut, launched in British cinemas this month (Apr09) and has been viewed more than a million times on YouTube, but will only air on television if scenes showing Knightley being thrown to the floor and beaten are removed.
Chris Hirst, managing director of Grey London Advertising Agency which created The Cut, says, "The reason we are still in conversation with Clearcast about it is because it is too violent. Part of the campaign is to raise awareness about domestic violence, and spark debate, which the advert has done, even if it doesn’t make it on television." The advert was created by Joe Wright, who directed of two of Knightley’s hit films, Atonement and Pride and Prejudice.

He says, "The government has taken tax up to 50 per cent and if it goes up to 51, I will be back in America. I will not pay the government more than I get. No way, ever. They’ve reached their limit with me, and that’s what will happen to a lot of people. We’ve got three and a half million layabouts laying about on benefits, I’m 76, getting up at 6am to go to work to keep them. Let’s get everybody back to work so we can save a couple of billion and cut tax, not sticking it on."
