MISCHA BARTON has brushed aside her body issues to strip for a racy new magazine cover shoot.
The former The O.C. actress poses topless for the May (09) issue of the U.K.’s Cosmopolitan, covering her breasts with her arms and hair.
The 23-year-old actress was criticised for sporting a fuller figure last year (08) after she was photographed with cellulite on her legs.
But she has slimmed down three dress sizes since her September (08) split from Rooney guitarist Taylor Locke, and Barton admits she is finally confident enough with her figure to show it off.
She says, "The only way to be happy and be a more enjoyable person to be around is to embrace what you’ve got. Everyone has issues about their body, but I feel confident now. I’m healthy and happy." And the star is still baffled by the attention the cellulite shots garnered, because everyone has their flaws.
She adds, "Surely there are more important issues than if someone has cellulite? I don’t understand the point of people looking for bad things. Why bother? I know it’s human nature to want to pick on other people, but I find it a little shallow."

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s former wife HEATHER MILLS has vowed to fight publications and websites who print damaging lies about her - because she doesn’t want her daughter to read them as she grows up.
The former model admits she’s sick of reading untruths about herself - and she has already given the world a taste of how far she’s willing to go to right wrongs.
And she’ll continue to hand out lawsuits and legal threats to anyone who writes lies about her.
Mills, who shares five year old Beatrice with McCartney, says, "I stopped reading stories about myself a number of years ago…I just thought this is just a waste of time but recently I’ve been going through the internet, clearing up (rumours).
"I’ve got five apologies so far from (the) British media and I’ve got many thousands to go. I plan to clear the internet so my daughter doesn’t read all the lies when she’s 12."

New York City public officials are defending SIR PAUL McCARTNEY’s girlfriend NANCY SHEVELL amid allegations she has abandoned her responsibilities as a transport boardmember to focus on her high-profile romance.
Shevell is among 16 unpaid members appointed by the state governor to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the agency that oversees subways and buses for the city’s eight million commuters.
After missing a series of top-level meetings, she has sparked an outcry among city leaders, who fear she’s spending more time with her Beatle boyfriend of 18 months than doing her job.
According to MTA meeting minutes, Shevell has missed four full board meetings - more than any other voting member - since January 2008. She also skipped another committee meeting held to approve a controversial fare increase last month (Mar09) - on the same day she was snapped walking the red carpet with McCartney at an event in London.
However, MTA officials insist Shevell is fulfilling her duties.
An MTA spokesperson says, "MTA board members are volunteers who serve without compensation and spend countless hours each month attending meetings and analysing background materials. Nancy Shevell has been an active board member since her appointment in 2001."

Rapper FAT JOE is taking his love for sneakers to the next level - he has launched a line of wet wipes to keep his beloved sports shoes clean.
The Lean Back hitmaker has teamed up with a Miami, Florida-based company to produce the Swift Kick Sneaker Wipes.
The cleaning product was created by a man simply known as Oz, who came up with a top secret formula which can be used to keep shoes of all kinds dirt-free.
And Oz admits bringing Fat Joe on board was an easy decision to make.
He tells Hip Hop Weekly, "Fat Joe heard about what I was doing through a mutual friend. I already had a partner… who agreed to back me, but I felt the tightest person to endorse the product was Fat Joe, who is like a sneaker king. He’s got like, 5,000 pairs of sneakers."

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and rapper LUPE FIASCO have been recruited by pop singer KENNA to climb Mount Kilimanjaro this autumn (09) in a bid to raise money for charity.
The trio will be joined by a team of adventurers assembled by Ethiopian-born Kenna as they scale the 19,000-foot (5,890 metre) African peak as part of a fundraising and awareness effort for the worldwide water crisis.
The mammoth climb will serve as a personal triumph for Out of Control hitmaker Kenna, who almost lost his father to the water shortage.
He tells America’s Elle magazine, "My dad almost died as a child from waterborne diseases in Ethiopia, and he had talked to me about digging a well there, and I thought, ‘I have too many friends who would be concerned with the subject of clean water. Maybe I can help out.’" And Fiasco insists he’s ready for the challenge, which he plans to turn into a fun race with his pal: "I’m an adventure junkie. Part of the motivation is beating Kenna to the top. Sabotaging his tent, taking the lining out of his coat, lacing it with ants or something like that."

Teen actress/singer MILEY CYRUS has laughed off rumours she’s undergone surgery to boost the size of her bust, insisting she’s just going through a growth spurt.
The 16 year old is appalled by suggestions she has put on too much weight recently and she cannot believe some gossips have started alleging she’s had a boob job since rising to fame on hit Disney series Hannah Montana in 2006.
She tells America’s Glamour magazine, "One thing that bugs me is people who say, ‘Miley really needs to lose some weight,’ or, ‘She got her boobs done.’ "I did start out really skinny, but you’re not going to have boobs when you’re 12 years old. I’m like, ‘What are you talking about? Let me grow!" And the sprouting star insists she will never fall victim to Hollywood pressure to stay superslim - because she likes her curves too much.
Cyrus adds, "I’ll never be a six-foot-tall, 95-pound model; I’m meant to have a little more meat on my bones."

Rocker BILLY CORGAN has reconsidered his promise never to release any more SMASHING PUMPKINS albums, insisting he’s in a much happier place now he’s no longer governed by record company politics.
The Today singer dismissed future albums in a bitter Chicago Tribune article in December (08), blaming the negative reaction to the band’s 2007’s comeback album Zeitgeist.
Corgan snarled, "We’re done with that (releasing albums). There is no point. People don’t even listen to it all. They put it on their iPod, they drag over the two singles, and skip over the rest. Our primary function now is to be a singles band, that drives Pumpkins Inc through singles. We’ll still be creative, but in a different form." But, in his first public address since the departure of bandmate Jimmy Chamberlin last month (Mar09), Corgan admits he’s in a much happier place and has a series of album projects planned for 2009.
In a post on the band’s website, Corgan writes, "I still plan on making an album. I know this may contradict with what I’ve said publicly, but I think I just didn’t state what I meant clearly. I meant I don’t think I’m going to make albums in the old-fashioned way, meaning 12-15 songs, etc in one small package.
"My desire at this point would be to release one song at a time, over a period of 2-3 years, with it all adding up to a box set/album of sorts that would also include an art movie of the album… My thinking is that if I focus on one song at a time I would approach them as beautiful, distinct paintings that would each require the attention they deserve.
"I’ve gotten lost many times during the long haul of making a record and have overlooked some great songs because of that." Corgan also uses his latest message to fans to apologise for past comments and actions, insisting he’s no longer a bitter individual: "For many years I’ve been really unhappy with the stupidity of the music business (that’s no secret!). But now I am free from corporate meddling. No contracts, no deadlines to meet, nothing but rainbows.
"My wish is that from this day forward this group will represent nothing but love and light. If you see BC (Billy Corgan) out there griping, it is only because I have failed to set the proper conditions to be in the love and light with you. The fan is NOT responsible in any way, shape, or form for my happiness or the my ability to do my job… If I have given that impression to any of you through the years I am sorry about that. That was an error on my part. When a fan comes to an SP (Smashing Pumpkins) show, we owe it to you to put on the best show possible, rain or shine."

THE HILLS star AUDRINA PATRIDGE has dismissed reports she has undergone plastic surgery to achieve slimmer facial features, insisting she’s "just losing baby fat".
The 23 year old is preparing to launch her own reality show, which will follow Patridge in her personal and professional life.
But the brunette has laughed off claims she’s had various medical procedures done to enhance her looks as she pitches the show to TV networks.

CSI: MIAMI star DAVID CARUSO has accused his ex-lover of fabricating allegations in a dispute over financial support.
Marquez is suing her ex in Los Angeles County Superior Court for fraud, breach of settlement agreement and emotional distress, claiming she agreed to be a stay-at-home mother in return for Caruso offering financial provision for her and their kids.
According to court documents, Caruso broke off the three-year romance shortly after his girlfriend gave birth to their second child in October 2007, reportedly agreeing to pay Marquez $1 million (£681,385) as part of a split deal.
She claims he later reneged on the promise.
But three-times wed Caruso has lashed out at his ex, insisting Marquez’s lawsuit is putting their children’s welfare in jeopardy.
A spokesperson for the actor tells Radaronline.com, "Last month (Mar09), David became concerned about the welfare of his children and sought court assistance to redefine David’s and Liza’s custodial schedules.
"It now appears that Liza has decided to retaliate by raising false claims against David, which David finds unfortunate since these claims will divert the parties’ and the court’s attention away from the best interests of the children."

FARRAH FAWCETT’s troubled son REDMOND O’NEAL is pleading with a Los Angeles judge to release him from jail and send him back to rehab.
The 24 year old, whose father is actor Ryan O’Neal, has been behind bars since Sunday (05Apr09) following a drug arrest - he was apprehended while visiting an incarcerated pal at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, California, and confessed to having drugs on his person.
He was hit with a felony count of drug possession on Tuesday (07Apr09) and was due to appear before a judge at the Los Angeles Municipal Courthouse on Friday morning (10Apr09).
According to RadarOnline.com, O’Neal is seeking an order which will send him back to rehab, where he hopes to kick his addiction to narcotics - just days after he quit a court-ordered treatment programme for reportedly failing a drugs test. That rehab stint was in relation to a drink driving arrest last June (08).
But that’s not O’Neal’s only legal woe - the felony charge is the second set of drug counts he is currently facing; he pleaded not guilty to drug possession last month (Mar09) following a separate incident.
As WENN went to press, O’Neal was still in custody at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility.
It’s a tough time for the family right now - Redmond’s mother was released from an L.A. hospital on Thursday (09Apr09), a week after she checked in suffering medical issues related to her treatment for anal cancer.

PAMELA ANDERSON has sparked rumours she is to marry for the fourth time - after one of her designer pals told friends he is working on the actress’ new wedding dress.

Pop star LILY ALLEN had to be carried away from a meet and greet event with fans in Utah on Wednesday (08Apr09) after falling ill.
The Smile singer met with VIP ticket holders following her concert at In the Venue in Salt Lake City, but had to cut the session short when she began to feel sickly.
One of her bodyguards came to her aid and scooped her up in his arms before taking her away to rest.
An eyewitness tells OK! magazine, "(Allen was) curled up in his arms, head on his shoulder and feet dangling.
"The guard later came back to let the guests waiting know that she was not feeling well and would not be returning." Further details of Allen’s ailment were unknown and a representative for the singer had yet to respond to requests for comment as WENN went to press.

American musician HERB ALPERT and his singer wife LANI HALL are to be honoured for their charity work with an award named after ELLA FITZGERALD.
The Society of Singers will honour the couple with the 18th Ella Award at the Beverly Hilton in California next month (18May09).
The couple will also perform at the event, which celebrates singers who have made significant contributions to charitable and humanitarian causes, reports Variety.

OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER feared for his safety during a recent show in Taiwan - because the band’s over-zealous fans caused the venue to violently shake.
The Wonderwall hitmakers played to a crowd of 18,000 at the World Trade Centre Nangang in the capital Taipei last week (03Apr09).
But concert-goers were so excited to see the British band, they made the walls of the venue rattle throughout the show - leaving Gallagher terrified.
Writing on his official blog, Gallagher says: "So that was a bit mad. 18,000 people. Upstairs. On the 2nd floor of a huge exhibition centre. You could feel the building shake during Rock ‘N’ Roll Star. Scary fun."

Soul star DIONNE WARWICK has been named and shamed as one of California’s worst tax offenders, owing the state $2.2 million (£1.5 million).
The singer is listed alongside American comedian David ‘Sinbad’ Adkins in a new report by the Franchise Tax Board.
The stars are among the state’s top 10 biggest tax debtors, with Adkins facing an outstanding $2.5 million (£1.7 million) bill.
According to Warwick’s spokesman Kevin Sasaki, the I Say A Little Prayer hitmaker is working with officials to settle the debt, although he is unsure exactly how much money has been repaid to date.
