The actor is hooked on the high octane pursuit and is planning a summer road trip across Alaska on his new Paul Smart Ducati bike.
But Johansson - who married the Canadian star last year (08) - is terrified a bad accident is waiting to happen.
He recently dodged injury when a car performed an illegal turn and ended up in his path. He had to swerve quickly to avoid it - shaking him up and scaring Johansson.
A source tells the National Enquirer, "She’s petrified a serious accident is just around the corner. When she asked Ryan to give up motorcycling, he flat out refused. And that led to a pretty heavy argument."

PARIS HILTON has been forced to quash rumours she is engaged to boyfriend DOUG REINHARDT after friends and family members called to congratulate her.
The couple has only been dating a few months, following Hilton’s November (08) split from rocker Benji Madden, but recent reports suggested the reality TV hunk had popped the question on a recent dinner date.
The stories were so convincing, Hilton’s closest friends and family began sending her flowers and cards.
In a post on her blog, the star writes, "I keep getting emails from you guys, calls from family, flowers from friends congratulating me on my engagement. They said they read some story the other day saying that when Doug and I went to dinner with my parents the other night that he proposed… This never happened, I don’t know where they come up with these stories sometimes. All we did was have a lovely dinner at my mom’s favorite restaurant." But Hilton does hint an engagement may not be far off, adding, "I will tell you this, Doug is an amazing guy and I feel very lucky that we found each other. We’ve been friends the past year now and have became very close. He’s my best friend, we are so much alike, we love to travel and we have the most incredible time together no matter where we are. I’ve never been happier. He truly treats me like his princess and that’s how every girl should always be treated. My parents love him too, so I’m really happy about that."

PARIS HILTON has been left stunned and "scared" after she was allegedly abused by a DJ’s bodyguard in Miami, Florida in the early hours of Friday (27Mar09).
The socialite was at the posh Fontainebleau hotel nightclub with her new boyfriend Doug Reinhardt when she approached the DJ to request a song to dance to.
But the music mixer, who was playing a techno set, refused and a bodyguard stepped in, reportedly pushing Hilton away.
Reinhardt leaped to her defence and lambasted the heavyweight guard for putting his hands on Hilton, sparking a brawl between the two men.
Police were called to the scene, but the fight had been broken up by hotel security. No charges were filed.
And Hilton is shocked at the way she was treated at the venue.
She tells RadarOnline.com, "I can’t believe someone would do this to us, it’s really scary." The blonde heiress was not injured in the scuffle, although Reinhardt, who stars on reality TV show The Hills, was left nursing a bloody lip.

The pop superstar celebrates her 39th birthday on Friday (27Mar09) and Cannon has revealed the special treat he has in store to help her mark the occasion.
When grilled about his gift plans by reporters, the 28-year-old actor reveals, "I think I was going to get her a bald eagle or something. Yeah, they sell them bald eagles still right?" However, Cannon’s odd revelation could refer to something entirely different - bald eagle is also a slang term for someone with shaved pubic hair.

OZZY OSBOURNE is learning to drive at 60 - just so he can get out of his madhouse.
The rock icon has set himself a task of learning to drive this year, so he can get a little quiet time.
He says, "My house is like an insane asylum and I thought, ‘It would be great to get in my car and drive around the block - just to be on my own.’" But Ozzy admits he’s struggling to find driving instructors who will give him lessons.
He explains, "Nobody will stay in the car with me for more than three lessons; they all think I’m nuts." His wife Sharon put her life in Ozzy’s hands earlier this month (Mar09) when she let the rocker drive her the two hours from Los Angeles to Palm Springs.

Rapper CAM’RON has dashed fans’ hopes of a DIPLOMATS reunion, insisting he is too busy to even consider bringing the group back together.
The Oh Boy star has been largely absent from the mainstream hip-hop scene since his 2006 offering Killa Season, after falling out with Diplomats stars Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey amid allegations of questionable business dealings.
Cam’ron recently revealed he and Jones had spoken on the phone for the first time in over a year - and this week (begs23Mar09), Jones reached out to his old pal, offering to squash their rivalry and hit the studio to record a follow up to their 2004 album, Diplomatic Immunity 2.
Jones told New York DJ Funkmaster Flex, "I’m just extending my hand to the contribution of getting this Diplomats business done. So if Cam is listening, maybe we can… sit down and get this business together and give the people what they want." But Cam’ron is not interested in reviving the hip-hop crew - and has ruled out any chance of collaborating with them ever again, urging fans to just "accept it" and "stop dreaming".
He says, "Look, I hear the deejays, I hear the fans, I hear everybody. I’m not doing a Diplomats album. I’m not rhyming with Jim or Juelz or nothing (sic).
"I wish them all the best of luck. Accept it people. The people don’t wanna seem to accept it. I don’t have time to do that, it’s not happening, I’m not doing it… And hopefully the people will get it in their head. Cam is doing Cam. I’m not doing no Diplomat (sic) Immunity 3 album. OZZY OSBOURNE feared he’d die on his 60th birthday in December (08) when his wife SHARON organised a helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon for him.
The rocker had long dreamed of flying over the natural wonder, but when his wife surprised him with the trip of a lifetime on his birthday, all he could think about was his own death.
Ozzy says, "We get to the Grand Canyon and I’ve got a helicopter and I’m going, ‘Hang about, this is too good to be true. I’m with my wife and this… guy flying helicopters over the Grand Canyon.’ "I’m thinking, ‘This is it, on my 60th birthday, I’m gonna be found in eight zillion pieces at the bottom.’ "There was not even a co-pilot. If that thing goes out, you are, like, dead." And Ozzy’s fears started to worry his wife - especially when he pointed out the pilot was a little chubby.
She explains, "He goes, ‘Don’t you think he’s overweight?’ and I was like, ‘Why should you care?’ and he goes, ‘Heart attack!’"

Prison-bound rapper T.I. has publicly thanked U.S. prosecutors for granting him a plea deal in relation to his 2007 federal weapons charges, because it allows him to close a troubled "chapter" in his life.
The Live Your Life hitmaker, real name Clifford Harris, Jr., was officially sentenced to a year and a day behind bars following an appearance in an Atlanta, Georgia court on Friday (27Mar09) morning.
The charges stem from his October 2007 arrest, when he was caught attempting to buy an arsenal of guns from an undercover FBI agent.
His lawyers struck a unique plea deal with prosecutors last year (08), which saw the star agree to complete a total of 1,500 hours of community service, pay a $100,300 (£71,640) fine and serve 366 days in jail for the crime. Without the deal, the superstar faced more than four years imprisonment.
During the sentencing hearing, U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell Jr. praised T.I. for turning his life around since the incident, telling the star he had more than exceeded the court’s expectations and hoped his case would inspire others in similar circumstances to follow in his footsteps.
And T.I. is grateful to have been given the opportunity to make ammends for his wrongdoings.
Speaking after Friday’s court hearing, he told reporters, "It brings me great pleasure and honor to say to you today that I have begun to close this chapter in my life with, of course, the help and blessings of the U.S. attorneys and the courts of the U.S. government.
"I would like to thank all who have helped me throughout my journeys, along my journey, including my attorneys, all of the foundations and all of the organisations who have helped me align myself with people who see to it that I seek out my wishes and intentions to the best of my ability.
"Although I am not thrilled about my next year and a day, I am pleased that I am beginning the process of putting this all behind me. Thank you and I apologise to my family, to the young men, young women that I mentor. I hope that I can keep at least one, if not a million or more, from going down a similar path. I just want to say thank you." T.I. has been ordered to voluntarily report to jail by 19 May (09).

Oscar winner WHOOPI GOLDBERG will play BENJAMIN BRATT’s ex-wife in a guest appearance on U.S. TV drama THE CLEANER.
The odd coupling is part of a new plotline for the series’ second season, which will see Goldberg return for a number of episodes, reports EW.com.
It’s not the only TV project Goldberg has been involved in - the co-host of U.S. talk show The View recently created and starred in a science-fiction mini-series which streamed online in January (09).

Teenage actress EMMA ROBERTS is celebrating after passing her driving test on her second attempt.
Julia Roberts’ 18-year-old niece reveals she recently gained her license after a misunderstanding about traffic light rules caused her to fail her first test.
She says, "I’m happy to announce that I got my license… finally. But when I failed, I didn’t know you couldn’t turn on (a) red (light). Everyone was like, ‘Oh it’s so cool, you can turn on red.’ So of course I swung a right and they failed me. It was red, oncoming traffic everywhere… It was really stressful." Roberts is now looking to buy her first car - but admits she is facing a motoring dilemma as she wants to stay green while cruising around town in comfort.
She adds, "I want a car that’s environmentally friendly, but I want a big car, so I don’t know."

The moment the entire cast of hit sitcom SEINFELD reunited on the set of TV show CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM was "electrifying", according to actress CHERYL HINES.
Seinfeld co-creator Larry David has brought Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis Dreyfus and Michael Richards back together - 11 years after the last episode of the multi-award-winning comedy aired - to appear in the upcoming seventh season of his spin-off show.

The In Da Club hitmaker, real name Curtis Jackson, recently appeared to have joined the throng of celebrities who use the social networking site to keep fans updated on their every movement.
But the hip-hop star’s online business manager, Chris ‘Broadway’ Romero, admits 50 has nothing to do with the page - all the posts are written by him.
However, Romero insists the messages are all written in the spirit of the rap superstar, as he takes quotes from 50 Cent magazine interviews and posts them directly onto the site.
Romero confesses to the New York Times, "He (50 Cent) doesn’t actually use Twitter. But the energy of it is all him."

A short poem ELVIS PRESLEY wrote about a dead bird has sold at auction for a staggering $20,000 (£14,000).
The King of Rock scrawled the rhyme on a piece of paper after apparently killing a robin that perched on his window ledge.
The note, written on his own stationary, reads, "As I awoke this morning when all sweet things are born, a robin perched on my window sill to greet the coming dawn. He sang his sweet song so sweetly and paused for a moment’s lull, I gently raised the window and crushed his f**king skull".
The poem was part of an online sale of Elvis memorabilia, which closed on Thursday (26Mar09).
Other items sold in the auction include a jumpsuit he wore at a concert at New York’s Madison Square Garden, which went for $212,588.40 (£148,663), and the typed lyrics for his song Young and Beautiful, which went under the hammer for $1,155.60 (£791.50).

Rap superstar T.I. has officially been sentenced to a year and a day behind bars for illegal weapons charges.
The Whatever You Like hitmaker, real name Clifford Harris Jr., appeared in an Atlanta, Georgia court on Friday (27Mar09) morning to hear his punishment.
The felony charges relate to his 2007 arrest, when he was caught trying to buy an arsenal of guns from an undercover FBI agent.
His lawyers struck a plea deal with prosecutors last year (08), which saw the star agree to complete a total of 1,500 hours of community service, pay a $100,000 (£70,000) fine and serve 366 days in jail for the crime.
U.S. District Court Judge Charles Pannell Jr. officially handed T.I. the sentence on Friday, as his longterm girlfriend Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle - formerly of R&B group Xscape - and other members of his family and friends looked on.
The rapper has already completed 1,000 hours of community work to date, and the remaining 500 hours are due to be served after his prison time.
Pannell Jr. praised T.I. for turning his life around since his arrest, telling the star he had more than exceeded the court’s expectations and hoped his case would inspire others in similar circumstances to follow in his footsteps.
T.I. has been given six to eight weeks to voluntarily report to jail, although the judge acknowledged that he will not actually begin his sentence before 19 May (09) due to prior commitments.
However, T.I. could walk free after serving just 10 months - if he behaves himself while in prison, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

LAW & ORDER: SVU actress JERI RYAN found it so difficult to adjust back to working life after giving birth to her daughter, she cried on her return to the set.
The 41-year-old star put her career on hold in 2008 and welcomed baby girl Gisele last March (08).
She returned to work earlier this month (Mar09) after a lengthy maternity leave - but she admits getting used to life as a working mum is much harder than she expected.
She tells People.com, "I cried (when I returned to work). It was especially hard since I’ve been with her nonstop since she was born.
"I loved my year off. I milked (my maternity leave) for as long as anyone could milk it! Now it’s time to go back to work." And Ryan, who is married to chef Christopher Eme, also struggled to regain her pre-pregnancy figure after piling on 28 pounds (12 kilograms) while expecting.
She adds, "It took me 10 months to get back to normal. It was a little frustrating, but I realise it’s harder to take the weight off when you’re 40."
