KATY PERRY is determined to show off her love for FREDDIE MERCURY - the singer wants a giant tattoo of the late star’s face etched on her back.
The I Kissed A Girl hitmaker has regularly cited Mercury - who died in 1991 - as the biggest influence on her musical career.
And Perry is planning a tribute to her idol with a unique piece of body art.
She says, "I nearly got a huge tattoo of Freddie Mercury�s face on my back a few years ago. It�s probably for the best that I didn�t get it done, but I still want to do it.�

Irish pop rockers THE SCRIPT celebrated St. Patrick’s Day (17Mar09) in style after scooping the top prizes at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards.
The band were the big winners at the ninth annual prizegiving on Tuesday in their hometown of Dublin, taking home trophies for Best Band and Best Irish Album for their self-titled debut.
Meanwhile, Boyzone lost out to fellow boyband Westlife, who won the Best Irish Pop Act award for the ninth year running.
British singer James Morrison, who performed live, was named Best International Male.

Pop sensation LADY GAGA is besotted with British royal PRINCE HARRY - but is convinced her fashion fetishes would keep her from the throne.
The Just Dance hitmaker has a fondness for the newly single prince, who recently split from girlfriend Chelsy Davy.
She says, "I spotted him last year in a club and couldn’t take my eyes off him. British men are cool. I especially love the accent and Prince Harry sounds so posh." Rappers JIM JONES and TRICK TRICK have spoken out after reports linked them to a shooting at a Detroit nightclub.
Rumours surfaced on the internet of an incident at the Esko Lounge in the early hours of Monday (16Mar09) which resulted in a fight and shots being fired.
The story is thought to have originated from a post on social networking website Twitter.com in which Detroit rapper P.L. wrote: "Club Esko. Me and Jim Jones were supposed to perform. Didn’t happen. 20 n****s rushed Jim… shots rang out. 3 people shot." But Jones later spoke to Hot 97 radio presenter Miss Info, telling her: "Nah, negative." And when further reports suggested Trick Trick was involved, he told Detroit radio station WKQI: "I ain’t left this house since Saturday." A spokesman for Detroit police confirmed two men were wounded when shots were fired during an incident at the Esko Lounge, but have refused to name the victims.

Actress JOANNA LUMLEY has slammed the British government for failing to honour a court ruling allowing Gurkha veterans the right to remain in the country.
The Indian-born star, whose father fought alongside the Gurkhas in the British army, has long campaigned to allow former Nepalese Gurkha soldiers to stay in the country.
The Gurkhas won a ruling at the High Court in London in October (08), that allowed up to 2,000 of them to stay in Britain.
But the U.K. government has so far failed to honour the ruling - and a furious Lumley turned up at London’s High Court on Tuesday (17Mar09) to lead a new legal bid to force the Home Office to take action.
She says, "It is disgraceful that our democratic Government has refused to listen to the will of the people.
"The ruling last year was clear and the way that successive governments have treated Gurkhas who retired before 1997 is truly offensive and a stain on our national character.
"These are men who have served in the British Army, sometimes for 20 years and more, and some have won our country’s highest honours for valour and service."

Supermodel GISELE BUNDCHEN is planning a second wedding ceremony to husband TOM BRADY just a month after they married, according to reports.

MICKEY ROURKE deliberately wears eccentric clothing in a bid to regain his status as a big-screen heavyweight, according to the star’s stylist.
The actor has stepped out in a range of outrageous outfits since his triumphant return to Hollywood with an Oscar-nominated role in The Wrestler.
And his edgy style is all part of his bid to make the movie industry stand-up and take notice, reveals the star’s stylist Michael Fisher.
He says, "When I first met with him we discussed how he wanted to reflect the resurrection of his career in the way he dressed. We both wanted the clothes to be as stand-up and as noticeable as his performance was in The Wrestler.
"We wanted to go for a dramatic, super-luxe look. He’d never worked with a stylist as closely as he has me. Did he need help? Errrm… I think we could ALL use someone to come in with the best of the best clothes to choose from.
"I’d bring in a rack and he’d go through it and select what he liked most. He loves fashion, likes to take risks and he gets really excited. It’s refreshing to find a celebrity, especially a male, who’s willing to try new things."

Stuntman STEVE-O has apologised to his DANCING WITH THE STARS partner for injuring himself in a dangerous leap that knocked them out of the live competition - after she specifically told him not to.
The Jackass daredevil was hospitalised just hours before the U.S. reality series went live on Monday (17Mar09), after falling onto his back and landing on a microphone pack, forcing the show’s panel to judge footage taken during a dress rehearsal.
The star admits he now regrets the reckless stunt - because it went against the advice of his professional dancer partner Lacey Schwimmer.
He writes on his official blog, "Physically, I feel pretty good today. If I get the opportunity, I don�t see any reason why I shouldn�t be able to learn and perform a great fox trot routine.
"With 20/20 hindsight, I must admit that I exercised very poor judgment yesterday. Jumping flat onto a bad back with a microphone pack strapped to it was sensationally idiotic, especially after Lacey told me what a bad idea she thought it was. I was a real jerk to insist upon doing that." And he is hoping he will have the chance to make it up to Schwimmer in future rounds of the competition: "I really hope that I get the chance to stay in the competition and make it up Lacey and everyone else."

HAIRSPRAY star NIKKI BLONSKY is facing legal action from the lawyer she hired after her alleged fight with model BIANCA GOLDEN, according to reports.
The 20-year-old, along with her mother Karen and father Carl, is being sued by attorney Michael J. Griffith for legal fees in connection with the incident last year (08).
The actress was detained in the Turks and Caicos Islands in July (08) along with her father and America’s Next Top Model star Golden after trouble erupted in the airport’s departure lounge.
The altercation between Blonsky and Golden at the Providenciales International Airport saw Blonsky charged with assault and actual bodily harm.
Golden was also accused of causing actual bodily harm, but all of the charges against both girls were subsequently dropped.
Blonsky’s father was released on bail and is still facing prosecution - he has pleaded not guilty to charges of grievous bodily harm.
But Griffith alleges that after he negotiated for Carl Blonsky to be let out of jail on a $3,000 (£2,143) bond, the actress fired him without paying his fees.
A representative for Blonsky was unavailable as WENN went to press.

NATASHA RICHARDSON’s family is keeping a bedside vigil at a New York hospital following a skiing accident which left her with a serious head injury.
The 45-year-old fell on the slopes while taking a ski lesson at Station Mont Tremblant near Montreal, Canada on Monday (16Mar09).
She was taken to Montreal’s Centre Hospitalier Laurentien, before being transferred to the nearby Hopital du Sacre-Coeur de Montreal with a "traumatic brain injury".
The actress’ husband, Irish actor Liam Neeson, rushed to her side on Monday from the set of his film, Chloe, currently shooting in Toronto.
Richardson was then flown via private jet, with Neeson by her side, to Lenox Hill Hospital in New York on Tuesday (17Mar09), at the request of her family.
Her mother, Vanessa Redgrave, and sister, Joely Richardson, were both spotted entering the facility later on Tuesday to be at the star’s side.
A spokesman for Richardson declined to comment on her current condition as WENN went to press.

A TV advert to promote the DVD release of ANGELINA JOLIE’s action thriller WANTED has been banned by British watchdogs for glamorising violence.
Britain’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has demanded the removal of the promotional footage from ad break schedules on U.K. TV over claims it makes the use of guns and violence look sexy.
In the ads, Jolie is seen kissing co-star James McAvoy during a high-speed car chase before the pair blast bullets in the direction of the viewer.
Now the ASA has ordered the movie’s studio Universal to change its advert as it will not be allowed to be broadcast in its current form.
The governing body says, "(It was) inappropriate to be seen by older children because it could be seen to condone violence by glorifying or glamorising the use of guns".
It’s not the first time Wanted’s promotional trail has been halted by the ASA - it banned the film’s posters last September (08) for the same reason.

Rapper KANYE WEST is set to appear as a hip hop wannabe in FAMILY GUY spin-off THE CLEVELAND SHOW.
The Stronger hitmaker is a huge fan of Seth MacFarlane’s original animated comedy, and jumped at the chance to lend his vocals to the up-coming show.
The new series sees character Cleveland Brown move away from the neighbourhood he shares with bumbling Family Guy patriarch Peter Griffin.
West will play an aspiring rapper called MC Kenny West, and recorded his guest slot last week (begs09Mar09).
Executive producer Mike Henry tells People.com, "We knew Kanye was a big Family Guy fan because he invited Seth (MacFarlane) to his house a year or two ago.
Co-producer Richard Appel adds, "Before we came to the table … there was only one line he didn’t love, and he came up with another idea and in a completely modest, nice way said, ‘Would you mind if I changed just this one line?’ "And our feeling was, how many raps have we written? One? And how many has he written? Be our guest." The spin-off is set to air in the U.S. in autumn, with West’s slot slated to be shown in early 2010.

Folk legend BOB DYLAN is causing a stink in his neighbourhood - the smell of his portable toilet is upsetting fellow residents.
Neighbours of the singer have complained that the sea breezes in the star’s Malibu, California neighbourhood are causing the foul odours to blow in the direction of their properties.
The toilet is used by Dylan’s employees and security staff.
Cindy Emminger, who lives directly behind the singer’s pad, alleges the smell and chemicals used in the portable bathroom have made her and her eight-year-old son ill - and has even hired five industrial fans to blow the smells back at Dylan’s estate.
She tells the Los Angeles Times, "It’s a scandal - ‘Mr. Civil Rights’ is killing our civil rights." The issue is reportedly currently under investigation by California officials.

GEORGE MICHAEL can demand a whopping $2.2 million (£1.6million) pay cheque for private party performances, according to newly published accounts.
The Careless Whisper hitmaker fuelled speculation he had quit the music industry after performing at London’s Earl Court in a set of final concerts dubbed The Final Two August (08).
But the reclusive star needn’t worry about his retirement - after the accounts from touring company Twentyfive Live reveal he could make a fortune performing private gigs for the super-rich.
The accounts show the star made a staggering $2.2 million (£1.6 million) for a 13-song set at the New Years Eve party of Russian nickel magnate Vladimir Potanin in 2006.
He also banked a $2.1 million (£1.52million) pay packet for singing his classics at the 55th birthday bash of British retail tycoon Sir Philip Green.
And it’s not only monetary demands Michael can afford to make - he reportedly insists on being flown to the lucrative gigs on a private plane with a huge entourage before jetting off as soon as he hangs up his mic.
The accounts, obtained by Britain’s Daily Mail website, also show the star garnered a huge $67.2 million (£48.4 million) from touring between April 2006 and March 2008.

A British music festival has been scrapped after falling victim to the global economic crisis.
The Heavenly Planet Festival in Reading, England was due to take place in July (09) but bosses have been left with no choice but to cancel the event because of cash-flow worries.
Melvin Benn, the festival’s organiser, says, "It is with regret that we make this announcement to cancel our new festival Heavenly Planet.
"The worsening economic crisis and circumstances beyond our control have been major factors in the final decision." Organisers of the event, which focused on bringing world music to one stage, are not promising the event will return next year (10), but are "planning for possible festivals in future years".

Pop star BELINDA CARLISLE’s dancing feet barely touched the ground before she became the first celebrity to be booted off hit U.S. talent show DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The Heaven on Earth hitmaker took home the embarrassing mantle of being the first star eliminated on the new season of ABC’s popular dancing contest.
Carlisle went head-to-head with fellow low-scorer Steve Wozniak - with the pair both earning 17 points out of 30 for their final dances from the tough judges.
But viewers decided to stick with Apple co-founder Wozniak - and sent the former The Go-Go’s frontwoman home.
And the singer was upset she had let her professional dance partner Jonathan Roberts down.
She says, "I had a great time. I learned how to dance and I wish I could have done better for Jonathan, because he’s a great teacher."

Singer LEANN RIMES is embroiled in claims she is cheating on her husband after she was allegedly caught on camera enjoying a steamy date with co-star.
The Blue hitmaker, who has been married to back-up dancer Dean Sheremet for seven years, is reportedly having an affair with her her TV movie Northern Lights co-star Eddie Cibrian, according to UsWeekly.

And it seems the pair hit it off immediately on-set - their Northern Lights director Mike Robe had previously told UsWeekly.com, "From the moment we rehearsed, LeAnn and Eddie honestly developed a really strong bond and a warm relationship." The singer renewed her wedding vows to Sheremet last August (08).
Cibrian has been married to model Brandi Glanville since 2001, and has two young sons.
A representative for Rimes tells the publication, "We do not comment on our clients’ personal lives."
