CANNON HITS BACK AT BLOGGERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:36 pm

MARIAH CAREY’s husband NICK CANNON has hit back at internet bloggers after facing a spate of untrue rumours - offering to meet his critics in person to set the story straight.
Cannon has been the subject of a string of recent online reports - including a story suggesting he is facing financial ruin over the engagement ring he bought his famous wife, something he subsequently denied.
And the web-spread rumours have infuriated Cannon - who has vowed to confront anyone spreading lies about him on the net.
In a video posted on YouTube.com he says, "I take respect real seriously and when you cross what I feel like you’re offending my personal space, I wanna (sic) give you the full opportunity to say whatever you need to say to my face directly.
"So wherever you at, I’ma (sic) let you know when I’m in that area so you can come and tell me… Anybody else who got some reckless s**t to say on the Internet, I will give you my phone number. We can exchange. If you really feel that bad about it, if you really have those harsh personal feelings against me, lets deal with it."

SPELLING SELLS MANSION OVER FEUD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

TORI SPELLING’s mother CANDY has explained her recent decision to sell the family estate in Los Angeles - putting the move down to fears she will never again spend time with her estranged daughter.
The pair fell out before the death of Spelling’s TV mogul father, Aaron, in 2007. They reconciled later that year, following the birth of the actress’ first child, Liam, with husband Dean McDermott.
But mother and daughter are back on frosty terms, and Candy Spelling now has little hope they will ever salvage their strained relationship.
Spelling admits the most hurtful part of the feud is her estrangement from her grandchildren - because she has never had a chance to meet the latest addition to the family, baby Stella, who was born last year (08).
And she has put the vast former family home on the market because her young relatives will never be able to enjoy it.
She tells People.com, "I don’t see Tori and Dean anymore. I used to see Liam, but no longer. And I’ve never met Stella. I’ve tried to talk to her (Tori), but that doesn’t work. She may not even know why she’s angry.
"If I had any hope that I would have a relationship with my grandchildren I would never sell this house. I’ve fantasised for years about a wonderful playhouse on the grounds for children." Spelling placed the family home in Los Angeles on the market earlier this month (Mar09) for a staggering $150 million (£103 million). The three-storey mansion boasts a bowling alley, wine cellar, library and a gym. It is also rumoured to include over 100 bedrooms.

CANNON DENIES ENGAGEMENT RING LAWSUIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:33 pm

NICK CANNON has denied he is at the centre of a legal wrangle over the engagement ring he bought his wife MARIAH CAREY.
Recent reports suggested the star was facing financial ruin and a lawsuit from the jewellery store where he purchased the diamond band in 2008 - with Cannon failing to pay the full $500,000 (£344,000) price tag for the gem, according to MTV news.
But the rapper-turned-actor is adamant that the stories aren’t true - hitting back at the rumours on his official internet blog.
He writes, "It was this craziness about me being broke and being sued by my jeweller! Ridiculous! I just got like three new major multi-million dollar deals in the last two months. And I ain’t even finish yet… But now I’m broke, okay! "Where do these people get this stuff? First off, I wish my wife’s ring did only cost $500,000, that would have been a deal! "Do your research and you will see how much I really paid for it. When my wife and I first got married people were lying and saying the ring was used or that I re-gifted it! So after we cleared that up, almost a year later they come with some more ring drama." And Cannon admits he would never skimp when it comes to buying presents for Carey.
He adds, "I would spend every last dime that I have ever made on my wife, she deserves to be showered with extraordinary gifts and as long as I live I will spend all my money on her and never touch a dime of hers."

COWELL STRUGGLING WITH TV WORKLOAD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

Music mogul SIMON COWELL finds life as a international TV star exhausting - he is considering cutting down his gruelling schedule of filming back-to-back reality shows.
The American Idol judge spends many months a year on the show, as well as jetting over to his native U.K. for his other TV projects The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
Cowell also runs his own record label and production company in between giving reality contestants his opinion on the TV shows.
But the heavy workload is taking its toll on the star, and he admits, “Something may have to give.” In an interview with Britain’s The Sun newspaper, Cowell says, “Last year was tough and I really felt it around about the end of the year. There’s a lot of pressure that comes with making the shows, running the record label and running the TV production company.
“I got to the point where I was doing Idol, finishing auditions, getting room service at 10pm and then working for another six or seven hours on the British stuff. You do that week after week, month after month and it takes its toll on you.”

NEESON COMPLETES CHLOE MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:30 pm

Grieving actor LIAM NEESON has returned to shoot the final scenes of his forthcoming movie CHLOE after he was forced to abandon filming to be at the side of his dying wife NATASHA RICHARDSON during her final hours.
The Irish star quit the production of Chloe in Toronto, Canada on 16 March (09) after learning Richardson had been hospitalised in Montreal, Canada after a fall during a skiing lesson.
He then flew his seriously ill partner to New York, where he was joined by family members and close friends at the Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. Richardson passed away two days later (18Mar09).
The producers of Chloe rescheduled shooting to accommodate Neeson, allowing him time to comfort his devastated sons, Michael, 13, and Daniel, 12.
The star threw himself back into filming once he had buried his beloved wife last Sunday (22Mar09) - returning to Toronto to wrap the movie.
But he was lost in mourning when the cameras were turned off, according to New York gossip column PageSix.
A source who spotted him sitting alone in a Toronto hotel tells the publication, "It was so sad. He looked like he was in an Edward Hopper print." Neeson’s representative confirms the actor has "completed the movie".
Neeson’s sister-in-law Joely Richardson also returned to work on TV movie The Day Of The Triffids. However, bereaved Vanessa Redgrave, mother of Natasha and Joely Richardson, has delayed a charity performance in New York from April to October (09) following her daughter’s death.

MADONNA: ‘ADOPTION IS NOBODY ELSE’S BUSINESS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:51 am

MADONNA has hit out at critics who have slammed her bid to adopt Malawian orphan MERCY JAMES - insisting it is "none of their business".
The pop superstar has confirmed she will file adoption papers in the country’s court this week (begs30Mar09) to legally adopt a second child, believed to be four-year-old James, whose 18-year-old mother died five days after giving birth to her.
But the bid has been hit by opposition from officials - as well as the girl’s family.
Mercy’s grandmother, Lucy Chekechiwa, 61, says, "Why doesn’t this singer pick other children? It is stealing. I want to go to court, I won’t let her go." And U.K.-based charity Save The Children also claim it is best for a child to remain in their homeland surrounded by their extended family.
The singer arrived in the country over the weekend (begs28Mar09) with her 12-year-old daughter Lourdes and three-year-old-David Banda, who she adopted from the African country in 2006.
Madonna and Lourdes were spotted visiting a plot of land in Chinkhota Village, which the 50-year-old has purchased to construct a girls’ school.
The singer declared it felt "amazing" to be visiting the village where she would be helping so many youngsters in the future.
But when asked by a journalist for Britain’s ITV News if she could understand the reservations held by some over her adoption bid, she retorted, "No. It’s none of their business." The visit was an emotional experience not only for the pop star, but also for the father of her adopted son.
Yohane Banda was granted a visit with his biological child David on Sunday (29Mar09) at the country’s upmarket Kumbali lodge - the first time he had seen his biological child in over two years.
An employee at the lodge tells Britain’s The Times newspaper, "He (Yohane) was hopping from foot to foot, you could see he was very happy. He had been waiting here all morning, you could see he was over the moon when Madonna arrived with David, but the reunion itself was private."

GAYNOR STILL CAN’T BELIEVE SHE’S A CAT ON NEW CHILDREN’S CD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:51 am

Disco queen GLORIA GAYNOR can’t believe she was asked to voice a cat for a new children’s CD - because she grew up terrified of the creatures.
The I Will Survive singer joins Jennifer Aniston and Olympia Dukakis among the celebrities offering up their voices for a charity reading of Nick Katsoris’ book Loukoumi’s Good Deeds.
Gaynor provides the voice of Fistiki the Cat in the reading, now available as a CD to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and she still can’t believe she’s all feline for the project.
She says, "I’m not really a cat person. I used to be deathly afraid of cats.
"It’s a very strange story; when my mother was pregnant with me she was frightened by a stray cat from the street while she was asleep and she woke up to this cat standing in her face, so I got that fear of cats in the womb.
"I was afraid of cats all my life and she never told me that story until I was an adult because she thought I would outgrow it."

GIAMATTI INVITED TO BE PART OF JAPANESE SIDEWAYS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 am

SIDEWAYS star PAUL GIAMATTI was stunned when he was asked to play a cameo role in Japan’s remake of the hit wine movie.
The quirky film was such a hit in the Far East that Japanese film bosses decided to revamp it with local actors, actresses and settings.
And they asked Giamatti to be a part of the production.
The actor says, "They asked me to be in it, actually… I don’t know what I was going to play.
"I said no. I felt my career hasn’t hit that low yet. I thought, ‘What am I gonna play - the sushi chef or something?’" Giamatti is far from impressed with the actor who will play his character, Miles, in the Japanese version of Sideways: "They got a strange, little troll to play me."

ROWLING BATTLES ONLINE ‘PIRATE’ PUBLISHER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:42 am

HARRY POTTER author J.K. ROWLING is fighting to have her wizard novels removed from a website after they were put online without her permission.
Rowling’s legal team are battling to get the digital versions of her beloved books taken down from California site Scribd.com, which claims to be the most popular literary site worldwide.
The author’s lawyer, Neil Blair, tells Britain’s The Times newspaper that the website did not have permission to publish the novels online which "are infringing listings which we were aware of and actioning." Other works, including works by Nick Hornby and John Grisham, are freely available on the site.
A spokesperson for the website says it operates a "notice and takedown system" where it will remove books if publishers demand the action.
