TOUR MANAGER’S BEATLES & STONES SNAPSHOTS GO ON DISPLAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:03 am

Rarely seen candid photos of the BEATLES and ROLLING STONES at work and play have gone on show in New York after the bands’ former tour manager chose to share his collection of snapshots.
Bob Bonis was the tour manager for both the Rolling Stones’ first U.S. tour and the Beatles’ last in the 1960s and he took every opportunity to shoot the British supergroups.
A serious photographer, Bonis estimates he took over 3,500 shots of the bands - and now a selection of them make up The British Are Coming! exhibition at the Not Fade Away Gallery in New York.
Highlights include shots of Keith Richards and Brian Jones poolside at a hotel in Florida on the day they wrote (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction, and a poignant portrait of John Lennon backstage in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at one of the Beatles’ last concerts.

STEVE-O DIAGNOSED WITH SPRAINED VESSEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

TV stuntman STEVE-O has been diagnosed with a hematoma after taking a nasty tumble while rehearsing for TV show DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The Jackass star fell on his microphone pack while trying to perfect a somersault during Monday’s (16Mar09) dress rehearsal for the show, and was rushed to hospital.
He was still under medical supervision when the show went live, forcing him to miss a dance-off with partner Lacey Schwimmer.
He says, "I have a hematoma. In laymen’s terms it means I grew a third butt cheek… A sprained vessel… I have a pinched nerve and my back is sprained." But Steve-O has no plans to follow injured celebrities Jewel and U.S. TV presenter Nancy O’Dell and quit the show.
He adds, "I’ll be fine." Despite his no-show on Monday night’s show, Steve-O avoided becoming the first dancer cut - that dishonour belonged to GoGo’s singer Belinda Carlisle.

ROURKE’S WRESTLING MATCH BACK ON?

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

Oscar nominee MICKEY ROURKE is heading back to the ring for an appearance at an upcoming WrestleMania smackdown.
The Wrestler star pulled out of the 5 April (09) event after fighter Chris Jericho took exception to comments the actor made about him on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January (09).
Rourke declared he was ready to take on WWE favourite at the WrestleMania event in Texas and his threats sparked a war of words on CNN show Larry King Live, where the fighter told Rourke, "I don’t have respect for you… Be careful what you wish for, Mr. Rourke." After the TV showdown, a spokesperson for Rourke said, "Mickey was very honoured to be asked as he has the greatest respect for WWE, however he will not be participating in Wrestlemania. He is focusing entirely on his acting career." But now Jericho has hinted the fight is back on.
Appearing on this week’s (16Mar09) Monday Night RAW wrestling show, the fighter said, "You say you’re going to be at Mania, I’m going to buy you a front row seat, because I want you to see up close and personal what’s going to happen to all your friends, and, unlike your movie The Wrestler, the ending of this isn’t going to be ambiguous. It’s going to be tragic." Rourke won a string of awards for his performance as Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson in The Wrestler, but he missed out on a first Best Actor Oscar when he was beaten by pal Sean Penn.

KINGSTON’S ER STINT WAS RACIALLY CHARGED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:00 am

Actress ALEX KINGSTON was given a hard lesson in racial prejudice when she first joined the cast of medical drama ER and learned her white character would be dating an African-American doctor.
Kingston’s Dr. Elizabeth Corday romanced Eriq La Salle’s character Dr. Benton on the show and she admits she had no idea how much fuss the storyline would cause.
As ER’s final episodes air, past and present cast members, directors and producers have offered their thoughts and memories about the show as part of a tribute article in U.S. magazine TV Guide.
And Brit Kingston admits her time as a TV doctor wasn’t all great.
She says, "Eriq didn’t want Benton’s first good relationship to be with a white woman. He thought that would be putting black women down. I absolutely understood it from his perspective, but I didn’t necessarily agree with it.
"Then I was shocked to discover how much prejudice there still was in America."

PAL REVEALS THERE WAS ‘NO HOPE’ FOR RICHARDSON IN ONLINE TRIBUTE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:57 am

Those closest to late actress NATASHA RICHARDSON have revealed there was "no hope" for the late 45-year-old star after she was removed from life support on Wednesday (18Mar09).
On Tuesday (17Mar09) the Brit was flown to New York’s Lenox Hill Hospital from Montreal, Canada, where she suffered an accident while learning to ski.
Concern for her health grew when doctors at a local hospital described her condition as critical.
Her actor husband Liam Neeson stalled film work on his new movie Chloe to be by his wife’s bedside, and he flew with her to New York, where he was joined by Richardson’s mother Vanessa Redgrave and other family members and close friends.
She was removed from life support on Wednesday morning (18Mar09) and died hours later.
Just before the tragic news was confirmed by Richardson’s publicist Alan Nierob, close pal Ted Casablanca reported the family members spent Wednesday afternoon saying their goodbyes to the actress on his Eonline.com blog.
He wrote, "The two-day vigil is over. Close relations to Natasha Richardson tell me there is no hope for the 45-year-old actress." And in a tribute to his friend, the blogger and U.S. TV personality adds, "I’ve known Natasha Richardson so long, I was at her first wedding to producer Robert Fox. Her bridal selection was a creamy, lovely ivory, a pantsuit actually (very classy), with a decolletage down to her navel. Was pretty fun stuff. I’d already become very fond of her, interviewing her extensively for my old gig, Premiere, but that damn nervy wedding look made me love her even more! "It was vintage Natasha: classy yet seductive. Just like she was in The Parent Trap when she lured wayward Dennis Quaid back into her clipped, British seductress ways. Go, Tash! That’s precisely how she was in life.
"And true to the sexy lady’s ways, after marrying Fox, she decided Liam Neeson was the man for her, divorced Robert and started up with the Oscar-nominated stud for a life of interesting domestic love in upstate New York." He reveals "levity" was his friend’s hallmark, adding, "Her equal senses of humour and grace were paramount to her… I can still hear Tash’s self-deprecating, throaty laugh telling me she didn’t even think she was that gorgeous.
"How wrong she was. Bless you, Tash, wherever you are."

MARGULIES/CLOONEY ER FINALE FILMED IN COMPLETE SECRECY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:30 pm

JULIANNA MARGULIES’ reunion with TV husband GEORGE CLOONEY was so top secret, it had to be filmed far away from Hollywood - and without the knowledge of ER bosses.
The actress returned to the show, as Nurse Carol Hathaway, to appear in the medical drama’s final episodes.
Her reunion with Clooney aired in America last week (12Mar09), and Margulies reveals it was filmed like a covert operation.
She tells America’s TV Guide magazine, "My last episode was done in complete secrecy. George flew from Burbank and I flew from LAX (Los Angeles airport), and we met in Seattle with only (ER creator) John Wells and our director of photography.
"We rented a house, I did my hair and make-up in a guest bathroom. John Wells took the film and locked it in his safe. NBC (TV bosses) didn’t even see it until the day it aired. It was so exciting."
