VON TEESE REBUFFS MANSON’S APOLOGIES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:51 pm

MARILYN MANSON has tried desperately to reconcile his relationship with DITA VON TEESE - but the burlesque dancer refuses to take him back.
Manson and Von Teese married in November 2005 but the sexy star filed for divorce a year later, citing irreconcilable differences.
And since the split, the goth rocker has phoned his former spouse repeatedly to apologise for their failed marriage - but the 36 year old has been too lucky in love to consider reuniting with her ex.
Von Teese explains, "He’s been in touch a little. The apologies come, and he was like, ‘I made a big mistake’. And I’m like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I know. Go ahead and say what you need to say to feel better and to sleep at night.’ "Right now I’ve got three (men). They’re all in different parts of the world… That’s my biggest sin - juggling men."

LOHAN TOOK MARSHALL OUT ON THE TOWN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:51 pm

LINDSAY LOHAN treated veteran director GARRY MARSHALL to a night out in Hollywood to make amends for missing filming on their movie GEORGIA RULE.
At Marshall’s request, a studio executive reprimanded Lohan in a 2006 letter, blaming "all-night heavy partying" for her "irresponsible and unprofessional" behaviour.
The note was subsequently leaked online, quickly making headlines and sparking rumours of a feud between Marshall and Lohan.
But the 74 year old director insists he was fascinated by Lohan’s wild lifestyle - and even asked the actress to show him the best places to party in Tinseltown.
He tells Fox News, "She and I always got along terrific and she goes out at night, so when we were working I said, ‘I keep hearing, reading in the paper you’re out there,’ and I said, ‘Can I come with you?’ And she said, ‘Yes, but not dressed like that. You don’t dress for my crowd.’ "So she went and she bought me a shirt, she bought me a hat and took me on the town and we went to all the places. Mostly what they talk about is boys, and we had a nice evening.
"We were at some nice hippy dippy restaurant, Koi or something, and I said, ‘How am I doing Lizzy, am I happening?’ And she said, ‘Almost.’ She said, ‘You have Velcro shoes - we don’t wear Velcro. Just put your feet under the table and you’ll be happening more.’"

RODGERS AXES WAR VETS SHOW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:48 pm

Veteran music producer NILE RODGERS has fallen foul of a charity for wounded soldiers after pulling out of a fundraising event in a row over hotel rooms.
The Le Freak hitmaker was due to perform and oversee production at Citizens Helping Heroes’ Red White & Blue Inaugural Ball in January (09) at a theatre in Washington D.C.
But he cancelled his appearance four days before the event, alleging organisers had not booked appropriate accommodation for his entourage.
A spokesman for Jamestown Entertainment hit back - blasting the musician for leaving war veterans disappointed.
Rodgers tells New York gossip column PageSix, "This is shocking to me. We spent a ton of money and prepared a spectacular production with a bunch of A-list talent and then had to call it off at the last minute when we discovered that CHH hadn’t obtained any of the accommodations they were supposed to.†But Freddie Wyatt, of Jamestown Entertainment, said: "Nile sold our troops down the river. What the hell? This was for our wounded soldiers. We had guys with missing legs and arms in the front row." Wyatt also denied failing to book accommodation for Rodgers and his entourage, adding: "That’s not true. We had about 15 hotel rooms, including four at the Ritz-Carlton for their top guys. But they asked for 80 rooms on the week of the inauguration."

BECKFORD: ‘CELEBS SHOULDN’T MUSCLE IN ON MODELS’ JOBS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:45 pm

Male supermodel TYSON BECKFORD has slammed the media for using celebrities in high fashion campaigns instead of models - insisting actors aren’t beautiful enough to naturally look good in glossy print.
The Make Me A Supermodel host isn’t impressed with the current trend for movie and TV stars to land advertising deals or grace the covers of glossy magazines.
But the hunk believes the fashion industry will come full circle - when they get sick of retouching the images of less-than-perfect stars.
He says, "You have to do a lot of tweaking and airbrushing to get the same from a celebrity that you would get from a model. A lot of celebrities - I’m gonna tell you right now - they’re not 5′11"; they’re not a size two to fit into these designer dresses, but the designers want exposure so they’re willing to make the specific dress for that actor or actress to get them to look good on the cover." "It’ll all come back around. One day some designer will wake up and say, ‘You know what? I don’t want to use Gwyneth Paltrow. I want to use Adriana Lima, I want to use Gisele (Bundchen), I want to go back to the high fashion.’ I think slowly but surely you’ll see that start happening."

Garland fought a long-running battle against drink and drugs, and endured money problems and a string of divorces prior to her death of an accidental overdose in 1969 at the age of 47.
Luft, who was 16 when her mother died, has revealed in Patti Davis’ upcoming book The Lives Our Mothers Leave Us how Garland made her solely responsible for maintaining her drug habit.
She says, "It was my responsibility as a kid to regulate her pills. I remember sitting in hotel rooms, opening capsules, emptying out the drugs and filling the capsules with sugar… I was taught to never, ever call an ambulance, no matter what happened. I was to call my father or someone else - never an ambulance because it would get into the press.
"I was taught at a young age to lie, to deceive, to manipulate.â€

CABARET STARS’ TRIBUTES TO RICHARDSON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

Tragic actress NATASHA RICHARDSON has been honoured by director SAM MENDES and actor ALAN CUMMING, who worked with her during her Tony-winning Broadway run in CABARET.
Cumming and Richardson scooped respective Tony Awards for Lead Actor and Actress in a Musical for their roles in the 1998 stage show, which was helmed by Mendes.
And now the American Beauty director has spoken of his heartbreak at Richardson’s sudden passing, describing the star as a tremendous asset to the acting community.
In a statement released to WENN, Mendes says: "Natasha combined the best of Redgrave and Richardson: The enormous depth and emotional force of a great actor on the one hand, and the intelligence and objectivity of a great director on the other. She was a one-of-a-kind, a magnificent actress.
"She was also an amazing mother, a loyal friend, and the greatest and most generous host you could ever hope to meet. It defies belief that this gifted, brave, tenacious, wonderful woman is gone." And Cumming also paid tribute to his former co-star in an emotional posting on his Internet blog.
He writes: "I, like everyone, am totally devastated by the sudden death of Natasha Richardson. The term ‘life force’ seems trite but that is what she was: a woman who powered through life and fascinated everyone she encountered.
"I have been thinking about the times I spent with her since I heard the news of her tragic accident, and the strongest memory I have is of her laughter, her unmistakeable throaty laugh. I think that’s a great way to remember someone.
"She was a brilliant actress. I will never forget her Blanche Dubois (in A Streetcar Named Desire). It was almost too much, too real and raw. Liam (Neeson) and the boys and her whole family have lost an amazing woman. We all have. Goodbye, darling." Richardson died after she was removed from life support on Wednesday (18Mar09) following a skiing accident on the slopes of Mont Tremblant in Montreal, Canada on Monday (16Mar09).

HARDWICKE QUIT NEW MOON DURING CAST DINNER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 am

TWILIGHT filmmaker CATHERINE HARDWICKE realised she wasn’t the right person to helm the sequel NEW MOON - after discussing the looming start date during dinner with the film’s stars ROBERT PATTINSON and KRISTEN STEWART.
The moviemaker scored the biggest debut ever for a female director when the bloodsucking love story shot to number one in the U.S. box office chart with takings of $69.6 million (£49 million) in late November (08).
She was widely expected to take the helm for the follow-up movie before being replaced by American Pie director Chris Weitz.
Hardwicke later admitted she didn’t feel the studio’s schedule - an early 2010 release - gave her enough time to prepare for the film.
Now, the director reveals it was while dining with her cast that she decided she should let someone else have the gig - despite admitting she was offered a huge sum of money.
She tells E! Online, "I was in Paris with Rob (Pattinson) and Kristen (Stewart) at dinner and talking to them and it was like, ‘Is this really the schedule? Would we really be starting ten and half weeks from now?’" "Yes, we would, for various reasons which I respect, but I really thought it would be better for somebody else, who hadn’t just been working every day for two years without a day off.
"I’m sad. But I would not want to let those people down…I was offered a very nice amount of money, plenty more than I have ever seen or my family has seen. But I wanted to do it only if I was going to make it better than Twilight."
