Pop superstar MADONNA is asking fans to help select the tracks for her next greatest hits compilation.
The Material Girl announced last week (18Mar09) that her final album released under current record label Warner Bros. would be a selection of chart-toppers from recent years.
And now the singer’s manager Guy Oseary has taken the unusual step of reaching out to fans on social networking site Twitter.com to find out which songs should be included.
He writes, "Working on Madonna’s greatest hits album. Any tracks that you think MUST be on?" Madonna’s untitled swansong album is tentatively set for release in September (09). It follows her 1990 compilation Immaculate Collection and 2001’s GHV2.

PEARL JAM star EDDIE VEDDER is convinced he and rock rival KURT COBAIN would have become friends if the NIRVANA singer had lived.
Vedder will have the Smells Like Teen Spirit frontman in his thoughts as the 15th anniversary of Cobain’s death comes around next month (Apr09) - even though the tragic rocker was one of his fiercest critics.
The Daughter singer reveals he and Cobain were well on their way to ending their war of words after meeting privately just before Cobain’s death in 1994.
And now Vedder says, "If Kurt were around today, I know he’d say to me, ‘Well, you turned out OK.’" Cobain committed suicide at his home in Seattle, Washington on 8 April, 1994.

OUTKAST rapper BIG BOI has confessed to leaking his own tracks online to generate interest in his long-awaited solo album - after facing setbacks with bosses at Jive Records.
The star completed work on Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty months ago, but blames issues with Jive executives for holding the project back.
The disc is not expected to hit stores until the summer (09) - but Big Boi is refusing to rely on Jive to market the CD and admits he’s responsible for giving fans an early preview of songs such as Royal Flush and Ringtone by releasing them online.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I’ve been doing it myself. It’s like I’m indie (an independent artist) right now, but they won’t let us out the contract… They (Jive bosses) don’t want to spend the money, but the music’s gonna make its own way." Big Boi’s Sir Lucious Leftfoot CD will be his first release without his Outkast partner Andre 3000. The duo’s last release, Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, was a double album which featured one disc by Big Boi and the other by Andre 3000.

Rapper MEMPHIS BLEEK has dismissed reports of a rift with mentor JAY-Z, insisting the hip-hop mogul is the "kindest" person on the planet.
The Is That Your Chick? star, real name Malik Thuston Cox, sparked rumours he had fallen out with Jay-Z after quitting his recording contract with Def Jam Records, where the Big Pimpin’ hitmaker previously served as president.
But Bleek has defended Jay-Z against allegations he failed to look after his roster of artists while in charge of Def Jam - and reveals it was the rap icon’s idea for him to leave the company and boost the profile of his own label, Get Low Records.
He says, "Jay’s the kindest n**ga that walk the face of this earth and everything ain’t money.
"N**ga gave everybody he knew… opportunity, that’s all you can ask for… I left Def Jam… I had options to put out another album on Def Jam but then I had a meeting with him and he made it real clear to me, ‘Why do that, you got the opportunity right now to run your own company. I’ma get you the distribution deal for Get Low Records, you sign your artists, drop your albums under Get Low and I’ma still executive produce.’"

Rapper METHOD MAN’s sports utility vehicle has been seized by New York state tax collectors alleging he owes over $50,000 (£34,670) to the government.
A 2008 Lincoln Navigator belonging to the star - real name Clifford Smith - was taken from his Staten Island, New York home at 6:00am local time on Wednesday (18Mar09), according to the New York Post.
The Wu-Tang rapper reportedly owes $52,503 (£36,405) in income taxes.

Actress ISABEL GILLIES’ memoirs began as a series of simple emails sent out from her mobile phone.
The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star describes the breakdown of her marriage to DeSales Harrison in brutally honest fashion in her new book, Happens Every Day: An All-Too-True Story.
Gillies’ six-year union came to an end in 2005 after she discovered her husband had been cheating on her with a young teacher.
And the 39 year old, who shares two sons with Harrison, reveals the inspiration to write a book on her lessons in love came about from her hastily-typed emails and messages on her BlackBerry smart phone.
In the opening pages of the book, she says, "I am not a writer but I have been told I write good emails which has led me to sit here at the library and tell this story." Gillies is now married to second husband Peter Lattman, whom she wed in 2007.

MASI OKA felt obliged to sign up to social networking site Facebook.com after discovering fraudsters were posing as the HEROES star online.
The actor only learned of the imposters after one friend was tricked into thinking the profile really belonged to him - and although he rarely uses the website, he’s glad his pals can now get in touch with the real Masi Oka.
He says, "My Facebook page actually came about because I was at a function and my friend came up to me and said, ‘I’ve just uploaded a picture from our party last week onto your Facebook page.’ I was like, ‘I don’t have a Facebook page…’ and he was like, ‘Oh really?’ So I looked it up and there’s someone posing as me. So I was like, oh god, I better make my own one…
"I don’t use it but it’s just so my friends can communicate with each other and know that it’s me. But I haven’t updated it for like, three months."

Funnyman JASON SEGEL is writing a new film starring JIM HENSON’s muppets - four years after the characters were last seen in theatres.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star is a big fan of the bug-eyed puppets, and is convinced he can win over audiences after 2005 film The Muppets’ Wizard of Oz flopped.
And he is hoping to revive the theatrical 1980s films starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Fozzie Bear with a nostalgic movie tribute, after signing a deal with Disney.
Segel says, "I’m trying to bring back the muppets. I’m writing a new muppet movie so hopefully I can bring the muppets back to (be more) like (1984 film) Muppets Take Manhattan." British-born screenwriter Nicholas Stoller is expected to direct.

GLADIATOR director SIR RIDLEY SCOTT has been honoured with a prestigious Fellowship from the British Film Institute.
The filmmaker, 71, is the 62nd recipient of the award, following in the footsteps of Sir David Lean and Clint Eastwood.
Greg Dyke, chairman of the BFI Governors, branded Scott "one of the foremost directors of his generation" in recognising his achievements in shaping film and television culture in the U.K.
The BFI Fellowship, created in 1983, is the highest accolade the organisation can bestow.
Scott is currently working on a new version of the Robin Hood story, his fourth film collaboration with Gladiator actor Russell Crowe.

Family members shared a final farewell to NATASHA RICHARDSON at her funeral service on Sunday (22Mar09) in the New York town where she wed LIAM NEESON.
The tragic actress died after a fall while skiing on the slopes of Mont Tremblant in Montreal, Canada on Monday (16Mar09) that left her with a serious brain injury.
She was flown to New York by her husband Neeson on Tuesday (17Mar09) where relatives, including her actress mother Vanessa Redgrave and sister Joely Richardson, stayed by her bedside until her life support machine was switched off on Wednesday (18Mar09). She died hours later, aged 45.
The actress’ mahogany casket, marked on its side with an Irish symbol representing friendship, love and loyalty, left Manhattan, New York at approximately 9:30am local time on Saturday (21Mar09), after a one-day wake.
Neeson was among the pallbearers for his wife’s coffin at the private service on Sunday (22Mar09) afternoon at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Millbrook, New York - near the home where they exchanged vows in 1994 and raised their two children.
The actor arrived with sons Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12, and mother-in-law, Vanessa Redgrave. Richardson’s aunt, Lynn Redgrave, and sister Joely Richardson followed.
Actor Ralph Fiennes was also at the funeral, which was open to family and close friends.
Richardson will be laid to rest at a nearby cemetery where her grandmother, Rachel Kempson Redgrave, was buried in 2003.

British pop star NATASHA BEDINGFIELD has married U.S. businessman MATTHEW ROBINSON.
The singer, 27, tied the knot with Robinson in a 30-minute outdoor ceremony next to the Pacific Ocean at the Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu, California on Saturday (21Mar09), reports People.com.
Guests watched Bedingfield walk down the aisle in a dress designed by Vera Wang before exchanging vows with her beau.
The couple, dating since 2006, announced their engagement last year (08).

SIR MICK JAGGER’s daughter JADE insists she was right to use her teenage daughters in a sexy promotional video for her new fashion line.
Amba, 13, and Assisi, 16, can be seen dancing provocatively in skimpy clothing in the advertisement - promoting Jade’s clothing range Queen Of Teens - which opens with a "warning" the video is unsuitable for people under 18.
The video, hosted on YouTube.com, also contains a spanking sequence and shows one model, believed to be Assisi, pouting while crawling on all fours.
But the designer refuses to apologise for her daughters’ inclusion in the clip - insisting the teens were an integral part of the range’s creation.
She says, "My daughters inspired my new collection, so it made sense for them to be involved as much as possible. Assisi even designed one of the T-shirts."

MICHAEL JACKSON is looking to expand his family - he reportedly plans to adopt a child when he stays in the U.K. for his comeback concerts this year (09).
The Thriller hitmaker already has three children - Prince, 11, Paris Katherine, 10, and Prince Michael II, five.
The eldest two are from a brief marriage to his former dermatology nurse Deborah Rowe and it is not known who gave birth to Prince Michael II.
A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Express the King of Pop hopes to adopt a child while staying in Britain for his 50-date residency at London O2 Arena later this year (09).
The source says, "Before his concerts he has said he wants to spend at least three weeks in Britain, getting used to the time zone and exploring the country. It is during this period that he wants to have meetings about adoption. He has not said if he wants a boy or girl, just that it would be good for the family to have another brother or sister."

BRUCE WILLIS has married his model girlfriend EMMA HEMING in a Caribbean ceremony attended by his ex-wife DEMI MOORE and her husband ASHTON KUTCHER, according to reports.
The Die Hard star exchanged vows with Heming on Saturday (21Mar09) on Parrot Cay, in the Turks and Caicos Islands, where the actor owns a home.

Hollywood couple HARRISON FORD and CALISTA FLOCKHART are reportedly preparing to marry after the actor proposed on St. Valentine’s Day last month (14Feb09).

Jazz pianist and singer EDDIE BO has passed away at the age of 79.
The star, born Edwin Joseph Bocage, died of a heart attack on Wednesday (18Mar09), according to The New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Bo first found fame fronting various bands and later wrote and released singles for labels including Ace, Ric, Apollo and Chess.
Singer Little Richard scored a hit with Slippin’ and Slidin’, adapted from Bo’s song I’m Wise, while Etta James entered the charts with a cover of his classic Dearest Darling.

SIMON COWELL is sparing no expense while building his dream home - the music mogul has splashed out on a professional tanning salon for his $21.7 million (£15 million) mansion.
The American Idol judge, who is said to be worth $188 million (£130 million), paid $11.9 million (£8.2 million) for the Los Angeles property two years ago (07).
Since then he has spent millions on renovating the two-storey property - even installing a solarium adjacent to the master bedroom with a full-length tanning machine and a smaller facial tanner.

WATCHMEN star JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN didn’t have to dig too deep to play a twisted and psychotic crimebuster in the hit action movie - his uncomfortable costume made him feel like killing someone.
The Grey’s Anatomy star plays The Comedian in the new movie and admits he hated the outfit he had to wear to bring his character to life.
He tells WENN, "You quickly realise it’s gonna really take six hours to put this costume on every day. So I’d come out of the costume and I’d be ready to kick somebody’s ass, because it’s such a long painful process. It’s hard to move, it’s sweaty, squeaky.
"There was always something but ultimately it helped so much to turn myself into the character. A lot of it had to do with the costume. He’s (Comedian) a very sad soul. There’s more to him than just this brutal bastard of a man. It was hard to shake Comedian at the end of the day. There were days when I went home and thought, ‘What did I just do?’ because he was just so sad."
