PRESSLY AND FIANCE SPLIT OVER GROWING SEPARATION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:57 am

Actress JAIME PRESSLY split from her fiance ERIC CUBICHE because the DJ wasn’t around enough.
The former couple ended its engagement in November (08) - 18 months after baby Dezi James was born.
And now Pressly has opened up about the split, insisting their relationship changed when Cubiche began spending more and more time away from home.
She tells America’s Redbook magazine, "When I was pregnant, Eric’s job changed. He became a travelling deejay. So he was gone a lot… We’d been best friends for so long, and now it was kind of like we were leading two separate lives.
"It’s hard because when you’re with somebody for a long time or have a child with someone, you start to expect them to be this person you had in mind. Then, if they don’t fill the expectation, resentment starts to come up. Sometimes it just doesn’t work." Pressly has full custody of her son but insists, "Eric’s very much a part of his life; he’s a great father."

LOHAN BLAMES MEDIA SCRUTINY FOR STALLED ACTING CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:54 am

LINDSAY LOHAN has blasted the media for portraying her as "spoiled, ungrateful and unprofessional", and hampering her Hollywood career in the process.
The Mean Girls star is frequently in and out of the headlines for her allegedly turbulent romance with girlfriend Samantha Ronson, as well as verbal run-ins with her father.
But the 22-year-old actress, who has spent time behind bars and in rehab for drug and alcohol issues, insists she is no longer the party girl she used to be - and she’s simply trying to focus her energies on her stalling movie career.
She is urging critics to leave her and DJ Ronson alone and stay out of her personal life - because she just wants to do "positive" things with her fame.
Lohan tells E! Online, "They need to stop saying we’re fighting. People (are) telling lies about me to her and all this garbage. I’m really a good person and I have a good heart and just want to work. The only reason I go to clubs is to hear Samantha spin or be normal.
"I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs and I don’t lie. I love to act and write and be creative, and I want to help people by playing characters that can send a positive message out to whomever may need it." And Lohan is also fed up with the obsessive devotees that buy into all the tabloid gossip about her - claiming they are the ones fuelling the press interest in her love life.
She adds, "All the sicko fans and the noise is so distracting… If (only) people would just stop judging me and accusing me and making me out to be this aloof, spoiled, ungrateful and unprofessional person that I am not and could never be." Lohan has completed just one movie - the upcoming Labor Pains - since 2007 flop I Know Who Killed Me, and recently lost out on the lead role in director Tim Burton’s forthcoming remake of Alice In Wonderland. She also pulled out of Dylan Thomas biopic The Edge of Love, and was replaced by Sienna Miller.
In a recent interview, the actress revealed she’s working on a new movie with Oscar winner Sean Penn."

KNIGHTLEY BORROWS, NOT BUYS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:54 am

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY has found a novel way to weather the global economic crisis - the actress has taken to renting designer shoes instead of buying new pairs.
The Love Actually star is wary of spending excessively during the ongoing recession, opting instead to save money by borrowing expensive footwear.
Knightley, 23, explains, "I think when I was very young and I suddenly started earning a bit of money and I could actually afford to buy shoes, I got very excited and bought a lot. I mean a lot! "I haven’t bought any in quite a while. Now I just rent them for the day. They give them to me for the day and I give them back in the evening, which is good."

BURNS COLLAPSES WITH KIDNEY FAILURE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:49 am

Singer PETE BURNS has hit out at bungling doctors after he collapsed in agony - months after he was diagnosed with a "mere infection" by medics.
The former Dead or Alive frontman was rushed to a London hospital for emergency surgery after he keeled over in debilitating pain last Wednesday (18Mar09).
Burns discovered he had seven kidney stones that are so large they will have to be removed via laser surgery.
But the problem could have been solved sooner had doctors given him the correct diagnosis, according to the star.
His representative Walt Utz tells WENN, "He sought doctor’s advice back in October, who ‘diagnosed’ a mere infection, even though Pete was convinced that his pains were more serious. He got more and more dehydrated over the months and the pain got worse and worse until he collapsed last week." Burns is now recovering in hospital after undergoing five hours of surgery on his kidneys. He is on a morphine drip to help him battle the pain.
Utz adds, "The kidney stones have caused Pete to suffer from severe dehydration which is why he is being monitored 24 hours on a drip. He is losing several litres of fluid per day." Burns is now set to undergo surgery on 30 March (09) to remove the kidney stones. He is expected to make a full recovery.

SPECTOR ATTORNEY: ‘EVIDENCE SUGGESTS CLARKSON SHOT HERSELF’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

Scientific evidence proves actress LANA CLARKSON shot herself in music mogul PHIL SPECTOR’s home, according to the producer’s attorney.
On Tuesday (24Mar09), in his closing argument to jurors in the ongoing murder retrial, Doron Weinberg concluded the clues in the case suggested Clarkson pulled the trigger in the foyer of his client’s Alhambra, California mansion - and not Spector.
Using images on a large screen, Weinberg listed 14 points of forensic evidence, including DNA and gunshot residue, stating each one was proof of a self-inflicted wound.
He said, "Every single fact says this is a self-inflicted gunshot wound. How do you ignore it? How do you say this could have been a homicide? "Phil Spector’s DNA was nowhere on that gun." But the lawyer accepted some of the other evidence, presented by the prosecution, piles up against his client, adding, "If you knew only what the case looks like from the outside, you’d say, ‘It sure looks like he did it.’" And, commenting on the testimony of his client’s former chauffeur, who had previously told jurors Spector had confessed, "I think I killed somebody" to him immediately following the 2003 shooting, Weinberg added, "If you believe (his chauffeur), you’d probably fold your arms and say, ‘Looks like he did it.’" Weinberg’s closing statements came a day after Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Truc Do called Spector "a demonic maniac" in her wrap up.
Spector’s wife Rachelle and one of his sons were in court for the conclusion of the five-month retrial, as were Clarkson’s mother and sister.
If convicted of second-degree murder, Spector could face 15 years to life in prison. The jury may also consider involuntary manslaughter, which carries a penalty of two to four years behind bars. The case is expected to go to the jury on Wednesday (25Mar09).

HAMMER: ‘DON’T FEEL SORRY FOR ME’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:36 pm

Rapper MC HAMMER will never complain about losing his fortune - because he made a conscious decision to try and keep 200 employees when he had no immediate income.
The U Can’t Touch This hitmaker famously went broke after his career nosedived in the early 2000s, but he refused to give up on those who had been part of his entourage at the height of his success a decade before.
He insists has no regrets and the rap star, real name Stanley Burrell, is convinced he saved lives by giving friends gainful employment.
He explains, "I decided that it was more profitable for me to employ 200 people and not take them off the payroll when I came off the road because, at that particular time, we were in the middle of the crack wars and everybody was dying and killing.
"Unless you lived it, you really can’t relate to it. To have friends that have grown up with you killing other friends over this new thing… The reciprocal thing that happened for me was God increased my appreciation for other things in life. It was a fair exchange as far as I’m concerned." And the rap star hopes his story will help those who are struggling to survive in the current tough economic climate.
Serving up a little spiritual advice on U.S. TV show Ellen on Tuesday (24Mar09), Hammer said, "They (people) really haven’t lost everything - and if they even interpret it that way, then they’re in trouble… Money can really be made again, as long as you’re living - there’s ideas, concepts, opportunities for employment.
"The first thing they should do is just sit down and regroup, have a conversation with self… and re-evaluate where you are right now."

"Us and the Mexican jazz bands had to line up and get our stuff the previous afternoon."

CHAMBERLIN EXPLAINS HIS DECISION TO QUIT PUMPKINS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:36 pm

Former SMASHING PUMPKINS drummer JIMMY CHAMBERLIN has spoken out about his decision to quit the group last week (ends20Mar09), revealing he could no longer be a part of something he wasn’t "into".
The drummer has opened up about his choice to opt out of upcoming recording and touring commitments with frontman Billy Corgan in a blog post to fans.
He writes, "I can no longer commit all of my energy into something that I don’t fully possess. I won’t pretend I’m into something I’m not. I won’t do it to myself, you the fan, or my former partner. I can’t just, ‘Cash the check’ so to speak." But he insists he and Corgan have not fallen out over his departure: "My best goes out to Billy and I’m glad he has chosen to continue under the name. It is his right… There is no drama, bad blood." Corgan and Chamberlin regrouped as Smashing Pumpkins in 2004 after the band split in 2000. The drummer joined the group Corgan founded in 1988 and played on all their albums, except 1988’s Adore. He also joined Corgan in spin-off group Zwan.

JANE’S ADDICTION REUNION IS AWKWARD FOR FARRELL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:33 pm

JANE’S ADDICTION frontman PERRY FARRELL fears the group’s "awkward" reunion could be short lived if the bandmates can’t bury past differences and get on with making music.
Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery came together to receive a lifetime achievement award at the inaugural NME Awards USA last year (Apr08), and performed at the event. That led to reunion talks, low-key shows and eventually plans to tour with Nine Inch Nails this summer (09).
But the singer insists the reunion is far from harmonious.
After performing with his band in a former supermarket at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas last week (ends20Mar09), Farrell told Rolling Stone magazine, "It’s (reunion) very awkward. I have seen Eric maybe two times in 18 years very briefly, one time we almost got into a fistfight.
"We’re all getting to know each other now to see if we’ve all changed for the better, if we can like each other and find common ground and ways to do things that will be successful together."

COUPLE LISTENED TO SLIPKNOT MURDER SONG BEFORE KILLING FRIEND

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:33 pm

Rockers SLIPKNOT have been dragged into a murder trial after prosecutors discovered the band’s DISASTERPIECE was used to fire up a California woman before she agreed to help her boyfriend stab a pal to death.
Amber Rose Riley is accused of helping Jason Harris kill 22-year-old Terry Taylor in 2003.
Jurors in San Bernardino Superior Court heard Taylor was stabbed more than 20 times, and his neck was slashed in the brutal attack, orchestrated by Harris, who was sentenced to serve 50 years to life behind bars in August (08).
Deputy District Attorney Karen Khim told the court that Riley and her boyfriend listened to Slipknot’s song, which features lyrics about slitting a victim’s throat, before they attacked Taylor in a park. The couple also allegedly recited the lyrics as they stabbed their friend to death.
Harris reportedly told San Bernardino police detectives that he wanted to know what it was like to kill someone and Khim told the jury that Riley admitted to having "a fascination about what it would be like to see a dead body".
The trial, which began on Thursday (19Mar09), continues.

NIGHY OPTS OUT OF SEX SCENES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:33 pm

British actor BILL NIGHY has never filmed a sex scene for a movie - because he is too embarrassed by his body to ever strip off on camera.
The 59-year-old star has enjoyed a long and varied career, beginning in theatre and going on to land high profile roles in movies including the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and 2003’s Love Actually.
But Nighy admits he has always shied away from roles as the romantic lead - as he would never be brave enough to bare all for cinema audiences.
He says, "I’m too shy and I didn’t want to take my top off, as I’ve got a difficult body. I didn’t want to show anyone as I knew that when it got around to it, I was dead in the water (his body was not in shape), and if a future Mrs Nighy was out there I would be single for the rest of my life."
