WILLIAMS READY TO REJOIN TAKE THAT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 am

British boyband TAKE THAT is set for a full reunion - ROBBIE WILLIAMS has finally confirmed he is ready to rejoin the band.
The five singers have not performed together since Angels hitmaker Williams quit to pursue a solo career in 1995.
The four other members - Gary Barlow, Jason Orange, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald - disbanded the group in 1996, but reunited for a hugely successful tour ten years later.
A full reunion has always looked unlikely, as Williams has frequently been engaged in a war of words with the rest of the band since his departure.
But Williams has apparently patched up his differences with his former bandmates - and announced he is ready to rejoin the group.
He tells U.K. newspaper the Daily Mirror, "I’m in regular contact with them and it’s looking more likely by the week. The lads all seem up for it. I think it would be fun.
"Let’s see what happens, but my head’s in the right place, so the timing could be right if Gary calls. I think it would be fun. It would be good."

A source tells the publication, "They want a pilot episode written in the next six weeks which will become a series, if he can come up with the goods. ENTWISTLE’S DEATH SAVED THE WHO

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:27 am

THE WHO would be no more if bass player JOHN ENTWISTLE hadn’t died in 2002 - because PETE TOWNSHEND only agreed to hit the road to help his pal out of debt.
Band leader Townshend reveals he planned to bow out of performing with the rock group after that year’s hits tour, but when Entwistle died in Las Vegas on the eve of the trek, the guitarist was forced to forget his past differences with frontman Roger Daltrey, and get on with the shows.
The tour brought the two existing The Who stars closer - and led to bigger plans.
The guitarist tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper, "John’s death in 2002 was a factor in the return to serious touring. That 2002 tour was the last I ever intended to do with the band, and my mission was to make enough money for John so that he could get out of debt.
"He had some back tax, and a double mortgage to juggle. He died the day before the tour was meant to begin. I felt his mischievous and wonderful sense of irony in that: ‘You thought you’d give me a hand-out Pete. Well, now I’m giving you a hand-out. Take my share, and tour without me if you dare.’" Daltrey and Townshend took on the challenge, replaced Entwistle with accomplished session musician Pino Palladino and performed in Los Angeles to kick off the tour - as planned.
Townshend adds, "It felt like a gracious gift from John, in the best of humour, even though his passing was really tragic.
"Roger and I were thrown together. We had been respectful, and friendly to each other, but we had never been great friends. We had never managed to find a way to live with how different we are, and how differently we think and work. With John gone, we were on our own, no distractions, no excuses that we were working to help John pay his debts.
"We had to decide whether to go on, just the two of us, or take the opportunity to stop. Suddenly, I realised I wanted to go on."

OSBOURNE IN VERBAL ATTACK ON REPORTER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:24 am

SHARON OSBOURNE launched a blistering tirade against a reporter who questioned whether her superstar family is suitable to host a new TV variety show.
Osbourne, Black Sabbath star Ozzy and their children Kelly, 24, and Jack, 23, are returning to U.S. TV screens following their wildly popular reality series The Osbournes to front the upcoming Osbournes Reloaded.
But their small screen comeback was dealt a blow after Osbourne flew into a rage during a telephone conference call on Thursday (26Mar09).
A journalist asked Osbourne if she believed it was appropriate for her clan, which has struggled to overcome substance abuse problems, to host a family variety programme, which prompted the rock matriarch to defend her loved ones in an angry rant.
She responded, "That must be the most ridiculous question I have ever been asked in my entire career. I’m really angry. Do you know how many people in this country alone suffer from addiction? This is a terrible epidemic that covers every race. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, black or white. It’s an epidemic of drugs and alcohol in this country. Okay? And all my family are examples of being truthful about their condition and working through it and trying to better themselves as human beings.
"You know that we have been so open about our lives. My husband has struggled with addiction his entire life. And my son has been clean and sober for six years and lives a very, very strict AA (Alcoholics Anonymous) lifestyle. And, so if anything he is a beacon of hope to any young person in this country who is struggling with addiction.
"So when you talk about family, we are family and we are a real family. I’ve taken real offence, because you know why? We’re real people. And probably half of the people watching our show, they have someone in their family who has a problem with alcohol and drugs." Kelly recently completed a second stint of rehab to treat an addiction to painkillers, while Jack and rocker Ozzy have also battled drug and drink demons.

LANSBURY SLAMS MANCHURIAN REMAKE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 am

ANGELA LANSBURY has slammed DENZEL WASHINGTON’s THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE remake, insisting it was destined to flop.
Lansbury was Oscar-nominated for her role as the domineering mother of a brainwashed soldier in the John Frankenheimer film, and she admits she was shocked when the 1962 movie was remade in 2004, starring Washington and Meryl Streep.
The new version was warmly received by critics - but Lansbury insists it ‘failed’ because too many film fans knew about the twist at the end.
She says, "I love Denzel. And for that reason I was interested in it. But I don’t know how you can make a movie which you know the end result. The cat was out of the bag before it even began. For that reason it did not succeed."
