FATBOY SLIM LEAVES REHAB

DJ FATBOY SLIM has left rehab, following a month-long stint to battle his alcohol addiction.
The star - real name Norman Cook - checked into the Providence Project clinic in Bournemouth, England on 2 March (09) to kick his drinking problem.
And he looked a picture of health as he was spotted leaving his Sussex home in a car with his wife, British TV presenter Zoe Ball, by his side on Monday (30Mar09).
Cook’s rehabilitation forced him to pull out of the Snowbombing music festival in Austria, which kicked off on Sunday (29Mar09), and he will not be performing until after June (09) in a bid to fully conquer his addictions.

KIDMAN ‘TOUCHED’ BY URBAN TRACK

NICOLE KIDMAN was overwhelmed when her country star husband KEITH URBAN wrote her a touching love song.
The singer co-wrote Thank You, a song on his forthcoming album Defying Gravity, for his Hollywood superstar wife.
And Kidman was left "very touched" when she heard the beautiful lyrics her husband had written in her honour.
Urban tells USA Today, "(It) became quite a confessional - much more intimate than I might have written had I intended to write about her.
"It was very instinctual and very much from the heart. We did a quick recording of it, and I took it home and played it for her that night. I think she was very touched."

ENO EXPERIMENTS WITH ‘INSTANT RELEASE’ MUSIC

Iconic producer BRIAN ENO is bidding to revolutionise the music industry by recording and releasing music all in the same day.
The Brit, who has worked with David Bowie and Coldplay in the past, is experimenting with tracks he has recorded with former Talking Heads frontman David Byrne - and he wants to start a trend.
Eno says, "When I finish something I want it out that day. Pop music is like the daily paper. It’s got to be there then, not six months later. So (David and I) decided to release on our websites first, then put it on the commercial websites, then as a CD, then with different packaging. It’s just trying to see what works. The business is an exciting mess at the moment."

LATINO RAPPER HOSPITALISED AFTER ‘FREAK ACCIDENT’

Latin rapper DOWN is fighting for his life after he was thrown from his car in a "freak accident".
The Lean Like A Cholo star, also known as Kilo, was admitted to hospital in Farmington, New Mexico at the weekend (28-29Mar09) following the incident.
The rapper’s manager Rick Valenzuela has asked fans to pray for the star’s recovery.
A statement from Valenzuela reads, "Further details will be released, as they become known. Down A.K.A. Kilo’s management ask that you keep Kilo in your thoughts and prayers and respect his family’s privacy during this tragic time."

U2 TO DONATE TOUR PROFIT TO CHARITY

Irish rockers U2 are planning to donate almost $12 million (£8.3 million) of the profits from the band’s upcoming world tour to charity.
The One hitmakers are embarking on a mammoth trek, which kicks off in Barcelona, Spain on 30 June (09), before heading to the U.S. in September (09).
And the generous stars are set to give away up to nine million Euros ($11.9 million/£8.3 million) to a leading Aids organisation.
Bono and his bandmates will hand over all of the revenue from VIP auction ticket sales at up to 100 worldwide concerts.
Up to 600 stage-front tickets per gig are set to be sold off, with minimum starting bids of between 95 Euros ($126/£88) and 1,015 Euros ($1,347/£940), with monies being given to Global Fund, which helps fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria in Africa.
The band’s spokeswoman says, "All of U2’s income raised from the auction of Red Zone tickets will be donated to charity."

HARRISON TREATED BUTLERS BADLY

British movie great REX HARRISON spent his life searching for the perfect butler - because he could never find one who would tolerate his outbursts.
The My Fair Lady star went through a succession of butlers and died fearing he’d never found the perfect right-hand man, according to his stepson, actor Jared Harris.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star explains, "He could never find one who would stay, because he was so appalling.
"He used to send the wine back from his own cellar and then rip into the butler for serving it to him."

XENA HEADS BACK TO ANCIENT ROME

XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS star LUCY LAWLESS is heading back to ancient times to play a Roman slave owner.
The actress has joined the cast of Spider-Man moviemaker Sam Raimi’s new U.S. TV series Spartacus: Blood and Sand.
Lawless will play Lucretia opposite Aussie actor Andy Whitfield in the drama, which will premiere on U.S. cable channel Starz in January (10), according to EW.com.

ALYSSA MILANO has urged TV executives to focus more shows on women - insisting female-driven programmes enjoy longer success on the small screen.
Milano starred in supernatural drama Charmed, about three sisters with magical powers, for eight years after landing the role in 1998.
And the beauty is convinced that actresses in leading roles are the key to longterm success for TV projects - because female fans are the most loyal viewers.
She says, "I think people connected to the sister relationships and women fans are the most loyal in the business. It’s absolutely true and it’s why most of the female-driven shows do well and last longer." And there are business benefits too - she adds: "The women buy the most stuff so the networks can charge more for advertising."

WESTERN ACTOR HALE DIES

American actor MONTE HALE has died. He was 89.
The star lost his battle with ill health at his Los Angeles home on Sunday (29Mar09), according to family members.
Hale shot to fame in a string of westerns films in the 1940s, including Home on the Range in 1946, and starred alongside James Dean in 1956 movie Giant.
He appeared in various television shows and was also featured in a popular comic book series - as a singing cowboy.
Hale’s wife of 31 years, Joanne, said in a statement, "My husband was the most wonderful, generous, giving and loving man I have ever known. He was a gentleman to all. He brought laughter, adventure and joy into my life and into everyone’s life that he touched."

WASHINGTON MOVES OUT OF HOME

Former GREY’S ANATOMY star ISAIAH WASHINGTON has reportedly moved out of his Los Angeles home following a row over unpaid rent.
The actor’s landlord filed papers on 24 March (09) claiming that Washington was five months behind in rental payments, amounting to a total of $100,000 (£70,000).
Washington and wife Jenisa faced being kicked out of the $3.5 million (£2.3 million) property in Venice, L.A.
But rather than being evicted, the star has now voluntarily moved out, according to RadarOnline.com.
Washington and his wife were seen leaving the residence on Monday (30Mar09) afternoon, and two housekeepers were spotted packing boxes while photographs were taken off of the walls.
A source tells the website, "He’s moving out today."

CAAN CONTRACT LAWSUIT DENIED

The film company facing legal action from THE GODFATHER star JAMES CAAN has denied it has ever entered into a movie deal with the actor.
Caan filed a $5 million (£3.44 million) suit against Fish Weir Filmworks and writer/director Daniel Adams at California’s Superior Court earlier this year (13Jan09).
The papers allege Adams and executives at the production company backed out of an agreement for him to play the lead role in forthcoming picture The Lightkeepers.
Caan is suing for breach of contract and fraud, claiming he was to be paid "$1,000,000 in cash on a pay-or-play basis… and $1,000,000 in deferred compensation".
However, bosses at Fish Weir Filmworks claim that Caan did not have a contract with the company, reports TMZ.com.

WILLIS SKI LODGE DESTROYED BY FIRE

A ski lodge co-owned by BRUCE WILLIS has been destroyed by a fire.
Willis, who wed second wife Emma Heming earlier this month (Mar09), learned the blaze had wrecked the main lodge at a ski operation he co-owns on Monday (30Apr09).
No one was injured in the Soldier Mountain Ski Resort blaze in Idaho.

FAWCETT SLAMS PAPARAZZI

Former CHARLIE’S ANGELS pin-up FARRAH FAWCETT has lashed out at the paparazzi who ignored pleas not to take shots of her in a wheelchair.
The actress was being escorted from a plane to a car on Saturday (28Mar09) after a flight from Germany, where she is seeking controversial cancer treatment, when the photographers spotted her at Los Angeles International Airport.
In an online video message, the angry actress says, "I didn’t want to be photographed in a wheelchair, which is what they’re always trying to get. That just p**ses me off." And she insists the fact she has become prey for the paparazzi isn’t helping her battle anal cancer.
Fawcett adds, "Stress is what feeds your cancer. Stress is what gives you cancer and then there’s the paparazzi giving you stress… Something has to be done."

DILLON FINED FOR SPEEDING

Actor MATT DILLON’s love of speed has cost him more than $800 (£571).
That’s what the star has been fined after pleading guilty for speeding through Vermont in December (08).
As part of the plea agreement, a negligent operation charge against Dillon was dropped, according to TMZ.com.
The Crash star was pulled over by state troopers in Newbury, Vermont on 30 December, after he was allegedly caught travelling at a speed of 106 miles per hour (171 kilometres per hour) - more than 30 miles per hour (48 kilometres per hour) above the 65 miles per hour (104 kilometres per hour) speed limit.
If convicted, Dillon faced up to a year in jail.

WEST: ‘NEVER QUESTION MY MANHOOD’

Rap superstar KANYE WEST has blasted online gossips for continuing to speculate about his sexuality, insisting his manhood should "never" be questioned.
The Stronger hitmaker, whose engagement to fashion designer Alexis Phifer ended in 2008, has long been dogged by rumours he is secretly gay.
Having previously slammed the "disrespectful" claims, West is furious about new rumours his relationship with model Amber Rose is just for show.
In a rant on his online blog, he writes, "I know my life is the Truman Show for everyone to judge and comment on but I’m not doing a reality show. I’m not doing anything ‘for the camera’! "I have some ego problems, b**ched out at award shows, have control issues and make some questionable fashion choices but never question MY manhood. This is a message to everybody out there!"

HARTNETT HOSPITALISED FOR GASTROINTESTINAL DISORDER

Actor JOSH HARTNETT is under observation for a gastrointestinal disorder following his admittance to a Los Angeles hospital on Monday (30Mar09).
The Black Hawk Down star, 30, was enjoying a night out at the famed Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood when he was struck down with the illness.
Hartnett is now being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and his representative reveals the actor’s ailment is a recurring one.
His spokesperson tells Usmagazine.com, "Josh Hartnett walked into an ambulance at approximately 1.45 am this morning suffering from a flare-up of a gastrointestinal problem that plagued him while he was starring in the West End of London during the (2008) production of Rain Man."

ANDERSON DESIGNS ECO-FRIENDLY FASHION LINE

Actress PAMELA ANDERSON is adding clothing designer to her resume - she’s teamed up with couturier RICHIE RICH for a line of environmentally-friendly fashion.
The animal rights activist and Rich, of fashion duo Heatherette, are collaborating on a line of leather-free shoes and casual clothes including hooded tops, skirts and swimwear for the new Muse brand.
She says, "I really don’t like to wear clothes. I would rather go naked. But I love Richie’s designs, so I agreed to be part of Muse." Rich adds, “Pam is an outdoorsy and summer kind of girl who I have been friends with forever. We share the same wild and crazy aesthetic. And she has long been my inspiration.
“Even though Pam prefers not to wear clothes, she looks great in sexy dresses. She reminds me of Marilyn Monroe and Bridget Bardot.” The fashion line is scheduled to debut this summer (09).

BERRY WANTS MORE KIDS

HALLE BERRY is keen to expand her family with boyfriend GABRIEL AUBRY, but fears she’s too old to have more kids.
The 42-year-old actress has a one-year-old daughter, Nahla, with model/bar owner Aubry, and admits she’s keen for more, but she insists that, at her age, she can only try and leave the rest to nature.
Berry says, "Yeah, my mind says yes, but the rest isn’t up to me - so we’ll see." But she insists she isn’t interested in following in the footsteps of mother-of-six Angelina Jolie and filling her home full of babies, adding, "I hope I don’t have, like, 14 more! That’s all I hope."
