More than half of the young people who took part in a Boston Health Commission survey in Massachusetts feel RIHANNA was to blame for her bust up with CHRIS BROWN, for which the KISS KISS singer faces a five-year jail spell.
The alleged beating on 8 February (09) left Rihanna with a black eye and swelling, and turned Brown into a media target.
But the teenagers and 20-somethings asked for their opinion of what happened in Brown’s rented Lamborghini voted to apportion the blame for the fight on Rihanna.
Reports suggest the singer flew into a rage after coming across a text message from a former lover of her boyfriend.
Brown allegedly punched his girlfriend while driving through Hollywood, threatening to kill the Umbrella hitmaker. The couple has since reconciled.
R&B star Brown has been charged with two felonies - one of assault likely to cause great bodily injury, and one of making criminal threats. He is due in court next month (Apr09).

MADONNA will be much more than a face in the crowd when pal BRITNEY SPEARS returns to New York on 23 March (09) - she’s planning to join her onstage.
The Material Girl checked out Spears’ concert at Nassau Coliseum in New York last week (11Mar09), and now she’s making plans to actually perform a medley of the two pop superstars’ hits when the Toxic singer is back in the Big Apple.
And Spears’ stylist David Alexander insists there might be more dates on the pop star’s Circus tour when Madonna will join her pal live.
He tells In Touch magazine, "It’s supposed to be a surprise!" The show is a returned favour from Madonna, who wowed Los Angeles fans when she was joined by Spears onstage at a Dodgers Stadium show in November (08).

The psychologist accused of illegally prescribing drugs to ANNA NICOLE SMITH is behind bars.
Dr. Khristine Eroshevich was booked into Van Nuys Jail in California on Monday morning (16Mar09).
The news comes just three days after Smith’s longtime boyfriend and lawyer, Howard K. Stern, was booked on the same charges.
Bail has been set at $20,000 (£14,300) for both co-defendants, according to U.S. news show Access Hollywood.
Smith died from an accidental overdose of prescription medication in 2007.
Another doctor, Sandeep Kapoor, was arrested on Thursday (12Mar09) and accused of "prescribing, administering or dispensing a controlled substance to an addict," among other charges.

Heavy metal icons IRON MAIDEN have abandoned plans to quit after their next album, insisting they’ll keep rocking well into old age.
Just last year (08), bassist Steve Harris suggested the group was close to disbanding, and that bandmembers would walk away after the next release.
He said, "We’ve always said we’re only going to do 15 albums; we’re coming up to it. There’s going to be an ending point." But guitarist Adrian Smith reveals the group has experienced a shift in opinion as it celebrates its 35th anniversary - and bandmembers have decided to keep on recording and performing.
Smith tells MetalHammer.co.uk, “We’ll carry on. The great thing is that there’s clearly a huge audience out there waiting to hear what we’re going to do right now; and in the real world that’s not a very common situation so you have to appreciate it."

Indie rock icons the PIXIES are to regroup for a string of summer (09) European shows.
The Debaser hitmakers will appear at the Isle of Wight festival in Britain in June (09) and they plan to add more dates.
The group, fronted by Frank Black, last split in 2007 and have since sparked reports their hiatus would be permanent. They reunited in 2004 after an 11-year break.
A revealing film chronicling their reunion shows, called loudQuietloud: A Film About the Pixies, suggested the quartet had a series of unresolved issues that would destroy any hope of a permanent comeback.
Black has since revealed he and bandmate Kim Deal had lost interest in the Pixies.

Oscar nominee AMY ADAMS was left so traumatised by the style pressures on the red carpet at the Oscars, she has rebelled by drastically cutting her long red hair.
The Doubt star admits she felt she had become some kind of Hollywood fashion puppet in the run up to the Academy Awards in February (09) - and needed to do something to reclaim her independence.
She tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "I think as an actress you feel like you don’t have ownership of your physical being because everyone has something to say. After awards season, you feel really judged.
"I know it sounds really juvenile, but in a way you start to feel like a child, and you rebel. I rebelled by cutting off my hair." But the drastic image makeover wasn’t as irresponsible as it sounds - Adams made sure her haircut was OK with the director of her new movie Leap Year: "I just had to tell Anand Tucker that I did it."

PHIL SPECTOR’s murder retrial is nearing its conclusion after both prosecuting and defence attorneys rested their cases.
The music mogul’s attorney rested his case on Thursday (12Mar09), a month after the prosecution served up their witnesses and evidence in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Judge Larry Paul Fidler advised Spector of his right to testify, but the producer chose not to take the stand.
His attorney Doron Weinberg’s final witness was forensic psychologist Elizabeth Loftus, who cast doubt on the testimony of the prosecution’s leading witness, Spector’s one-time chauffeur, who has maintained he heard his boss say he thought he had killed somebody.
Spector is accused of shooting actress Lana Clarkson in the foyer of his Alhambra, California mansion in 2003. His defence team maintains Clarkson shot herself.
Loftus, a professor and author of 22 books on human memory, witness testimony and repressed memory, told jurors that witness observations can be influenced by stress, lighting and time.
After the defence rested, prosecutors began their rebuttal case.
The retrial continues.
In Spector’s first trial, the jury was deadlocked with the majority favouring a conviction. The second trial began in October (08).

MARISKA HARGITAY’s bosses have responded quickly to reports the actress’ collapsed lung will keep her out of the current season of cop series LAW & ORDER: SVU, insisting she will be back.
Tabloid reports suggested Hargitay’s health crisis will keep her off the set of the hit show, with sources claiming producers "have written her out of the rest of the season".
But SVU boss Neal Baer insists the report is "absolutely not true".
He says, "She will be back shortly. I talk to her all the time. She’s doing great.
"She is slated to come back, she’s feeling really well and she will definitely be back… for the last four episodes… She’s only out of one episode." And Hargitay’s publicist tells Eonline.com, "Mariska is recovering well and is returning to the show this season." The actress underwent surgery last week (ends13Mar09) to correct complications arising from a collapsed lung she suffered in January (09).

Newlywed ELLEN DEGENERES celebrated her seven-month anniversary on Monday (16Mar09) by interviewing her wife, PORTIA DE ROSSI, on her U.S. daytime talk show.
The actress was invited on the show to talk about her new TV comedy Better Off Ted and both stars decided to chat on their anniversary.
Introducing her guest, DeGeneres said, "Our first guest is the star of the new ABC show Better Off Ted; she also happens to be my wife. Please welcome the lovely Portia De Rossi." The host then asked her wife, "How’s married life for you… Are you enjoying being married to me?" A giggling De Rossi responded, "Yes, I am." DeGeneres then flashed up a photo from the couple’s wedding day, prompting a gushing De Rossi to coo, "That was the happiest day of my life, it really was." The actress went on to describe her partner as the perfect wife, adding, "People always ask me if there’s anything that she does that’s annoying around the house, like if she leaves wet towels on the floor, if she’s messy, and I gotta tell you she is considerate and kind and wonderful and neat." DeGeneres responded, "I would say the same thing; not the neat part… You’re not as neat." The candid chat continued and De Rossi confessed that becoming the partner of someone "so famous" took a lot of adjusting to.
She added, "We were in Rome… and I was dying to show her this beautiful piazza and we were walking around but we got swamped by paparazzi." The couple also addressed rumours suggesting De Rossi is pregnant. The actress joked, "I probably should have told you before the tabloids told you."

Playboy boss HUGH HEFNER is selling his Holmby Hills, California home for a massive $28 million (£20.14 million).
The tycoon bought the English manor-style property in 1998, but is looking to off-load the five bedroom, seven bathroom home, which has remained vacant for several years.

Children’s action heroes the POWER RANGERS are to be decommissioned.
Disney bosses have decided to drop the long-running series, which has been shot in New Zealand since 2003.
The 17th season of the show, which began earlier this month (Mar09), will be the Power Rangers’ last.
The news has stunned Antipodean actors working on the series, who insist they were not told the project was under threat.
Voiceover actor Charlie McDermott, who has portrayed the General Crunch character for the last three years, told the New Zealand Weekend Herald newspaper he had not been told about the cancellation.
He says, "It’s a bit of a bummer." Ironically, New Zealand was one of the few countries to ban the show; the series was cancelled 1993 when the Broadcasting Standards Authority deemed it too violent.

Former porn superstar JENNA JAMESON is a new mum - she gave birth to twin boys at a California hospital on Monday (16Mar09) morning.
The 34-year-old retired X-rated actress and her boyfriend Tito Ortiz welcomed their first children at Newport Beach Hospital, according to Adult Video News.
Sources tell the porn news website that Jameson and the baby boys are healthy.
After announcing her pregnancy back in September (08), Jameson wrote online, "I can’t even express the extreme serenity that came over me once I saw my children inside me. Hollywood actress SALMA HAYEK is sharing the secrets behind her stunning looks - she’s developing a range of anti-ageing cosmetics.
The currently-unnamed line is inspired by Hayek’s maternal grandmother, former cosmetologist Maria Luisa, whose home-made potions kept her skin glowing well into her 90s.
The 42-year-old Mexican is planning to recreate the concoctions, which will be named in her grandmother’s honour.

Rapper/actor T.I. has dismissed reports troubled star CHRIS BROWN has been dropped from the marketing campaign for their forthcoming movie TAKERS following his fight with girlfriend RIHANNA.
Singer-turned-actor Brown is facing up to five years behind bars for charges relating to a pre-Grammys argument with Rihanna last month (08Feb09), which allegedly left her battered and bruised.
The 19-year-old was rumoured to have been cut from the promotional material for the film, previously called Bone Deep, as a result of his legal woes - but Takers producer and star T.I. insists the claims are false.
And the Live Your Life hitmaker - who is facing his own prison term for illegal weapons possession - has vowed to stand by Brown as he fights the charges for assault and making criminal threats, reports RapRadar.com.
He says, "Nah man, that can’t be further from the truth. There’s no validity to that statement.
"I’m a producer on the movie and I ain’t put forth no sort of order or request man. And personally, it’s very, very premature to jump to such a conclusion given that none of these matters have been resolved. No one has been tried or convicted or nothing like that. I’m not going to jump to no conclusions. I’m not going to. I think that’s unfair ’cause that’s what people did with me, and I’m not going to do that." T.I. is facing a year and a day behind bars following his 2007 arrest and is due in court for sentencing on 27 March (09).

NICOLAS CAGE made his latest movie character a single father in a bid to destroy the ‘myth’ that men can’t look after kids on their own.
In Knowing, the actor plays a widower whose young son discovers a document detailing every major disaster that has happened, and three that have yet to take place.
Having been a single dad himself - to 18-year-old son Weston - the star was determined to show men can raise kids as well as women, and wanted to make the film to balance out the slew of movies about single mums.
Cage explains, "I have seen a lot of movies with single mothers and their children. They’re good, but there are not so many with capable single fathers. There seems to be this archetype that if you’re a man and single, you’re incapable of raising a child, which I think needs to be broken. If you find yourself in that position - like I have - it’s important not to give up because of what people tell you."

LINDSAY LOHAN’s arrest warrant has been dismissed by a California judge after she was determined to be in full compliance with the terms of her probation for driving under the influence (DUI).
Los Angeles cops issued a $50,000 (£35,290) warrant for the Mean Girls star’s arrest on Friday (13Mar09) in relation to her 2007 DUI conviction, which saw her sentenced to 24 hours in jail. Lohan was also ordered to perform 10 days of community service and enter an 18-month alcohol education programme.
Her latest legal woe was sparked after a director of her alcohol education class told the court the actress had missed three sessions in a 21-day period, violating the terms of her three-year probation.
The 22-year-old’s lawyer Shawn Chapman blamed the warrant on a "miscommunication", and at a brief hearing in Beverly Hills on Monday (16Mar09), Chapman explained Lohan "had been in one programme but left that programme" for another due to a "personality conflict".
The actress, who was arrested twice in 2007 on DUI charges, did not appear in court.
The judge ordered Lohan to show new proof of enrollment in a programme by 3 April (09).
