BROWN AND RIHANNA DUET REPORT IS ‘FALSE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:36 pm

CHRIS BROWN did not record a duet with girlfriend RIHANNA just days after he was charged with assaulting her, according to a new report.
Brown, who was arraigned earlier this month (05Mar09), faces two felony charges of assault and making criminal threats after a bust-up with Rihanna at a pre-Grammy Awards party in Los Angeles on 8 February (09).
The incident reportedly left Rihanna in need of medical treatment, but the pair was rumoured to have reconciled following the alleged altercation by making a new track together with the help of producer pal Polow da Don.
A spokesperson for Don told MTV News the couple had completed the track earlier this week (begs09Mar09).
But the song in question, Bad Girl, was actually a demo recording from last year that Brown and Rihanna had provided vocals on, according to People.com.
A source tells the website, "Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a duet after the incident… around August or September of 2008, Chris and Rihanna’s vocals were recorded as the reference vocals for this demo only. (But) the song was never conceived or intended to be a duet between them, and was later recorded by other artists."

DAMON CONFIRMS FOURTH BOURNE MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

Hollywood actor MATT DAMON is working on a fourth installment of the successful BOURNE movie franchise.
Damon and director Paul Greengrass will be developing an original script for the popular series’ fourth outing - as the films have dramatised all of Robert Ludlum’s best-selling novels.
Yet both are currently held up on other projects - and Damon remains cautious about reprising his physically intense role as superspy Jason Bourne.
He tells Parade magazine, "We’re working on it. This time it would be from an original script rather than a book by Robert Ludlum, but the director Paul Greengrass is busy and I am too, so we’ll see what happens.
"When I did the first movie I was 29 years old. I am 37 now. After a tough fighting scene, the next day you wake up and feel your body more. That’s just the way it is."

THE ROCK’S ROLLERCOASTER PHOBIA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

Former wrestler-turned-actor DWAYNE ‘THE ROCK’ JOHNSON has wrecked his tough guy image after confessing he is scared of rollercoasters.
The muscly Scorpion King star admits he hates feeling trapped, and strapping into a nerve-wracking thrill ride leaves him on the verge of hyperventilating.
He says, "It’s not a fear of rollercoasters, it’s a fear of getting strapped in, especially the bars.
"I attempted to (go on a rollercoaster once), but the moment the bars clamp down and I feel it on my chest, that’s the moment I can’t breathe." And Johnson was forced to talk his way out of a group ride during a recent trip to Disneyland in California with his Race to Witch Mountain cast and crew.
He recalls, "It’s funny ’cause we all took a big trip to Disney before we shot the film; everyone was there, the director, the kids. We were walking around the rides and we had a tour guide with us, and I pulled the guide to one side and was like, ‘What kind of ride is this?’ and he was like, ‘Oh its great, it’s gonna go up and down and around’, and I was like, ‘Oh ok, I think I’ll stay here.’ "The thing is everyone’s waiting in line and they’re like, ‘Hey Dwayne, why aren’t you getting on the ride?’ and there were hundreds of people there. And I was like on my BlackBerry, (saying), ‘I can’t, very important Hollywood stuff here’."

MULAN FILMING HALTED BY PROTESTERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

Filming on the set of Chinese movie remake MULAN ground to a halt in Hong Kong this week (ends13Mar09) after villagers staged a protest amid allegations of unpaid bills from an earlier shoot.
Director Jingle Ma’s latest project was forced to wind down for two days when Yixian locals objected to the cast and crew’s return to the area.
They claimed the movie’s producers had failed to settle outstanding debts from their previous days of filming in the Hebei Province, and launched the protest in an act of revenge.
Disney’s animated version of Mulan became a big hit in the West upon its release in 1998 but flopped in China, where citizens felt local stars should have been involved in the making of the film.

HARDY’S VILLAGE PEOPLE JOKE WITH BRONSON

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

British actor TOM HARDY is braver than most - he risked upsetting the U.K.’s most violent prisoner by comparing him to a member of camp 1970s band VILLAGE PEOPLE.
The RocknRolla star plays notorious convict Charles Bronson in a movie biopic of the career criminal’s life, titled simply Bronson.
To prepare for the role, he visited the crazed armed robber in jail for a series of "interviews" so he could study Bronson’s mannerisms.
And their first meeting almost turned ugly - when the actor joked that the crook’s handlebar moustache made him look like a singer with the YMCA hitmakers.
Hardy says, "He was concerned that I wasn’t heavy enough to play him. So obviously it was, ‘What you gonna do about the press-ups, Tom? What you gonna do about the moustache?’. I was like, ‘Well, you know, I don’t think I’m going to go with it Charlie.’ (He said) ‘You f**king what? This is the most famous ‘tache in the penal system!’ I said, ‘Yeah, but it’s a bit Village People isn’t it mate?’ "He went, ‘Whoa! YMCA!… Seriously, what you gonna do about the ‘tache?’. So I got the ‘tache!" Bronson was jailed for armed robbery in 1974 and has stayed behind bars ever since due to a string of assaults on fellow inmates and prison guards. He once led an infamous protest on the roof of a prison, and even took jail staff hostage.

ALLEN WINS COURT BATTLE WITH PAPARAZZI

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

Pop star LILY ALLEN has secured a court injunction banning paparazzi photographers from harassing her.
The British star has fought a long battle with the photographers who follow her every move. In March 2007 she was cautioned by the police for assaulting a snapper outside her home; and on Thursday (12Mar09) she was photographed kicking a photographer who had allegedly driven into the back of her car.
The latest incident prompted Allen to head to court in London on Friday (13Mar09) where she successful secured a court order banning the paparazzi from getting too close.
The injunction targets two picture agencies, Big Pictures and Matrix; photographer Dan Bosinovski and unnamed "individuals responsible for taking photographs of the claimant outside her home and in other public places during February and March 2009".
Following Friday’s hearing, Allen’s lawyer Mark Thomson released a statement that reads, "My client has faced constant harassment over the last few months from the paparazzi.
"As a result of this and various incidents of harassment that took place yesterday my client has now been forced to take legal action. In a court hearing that took place this afternoon, my client, Lily Allen, has resolved issues surrounding her constant harassment with two picture agencies and has also obtained from the High Court an injunction restraining further harassment of her by other paparazzi photographers. My client, Lily Allen, is delighted with the outcome of the hearing today." Allen also spoke out on Friday to deny rumours legal action stemming from her most recent confrontation with the press may affect her forthcoming U.S. tour.
The singer had her American visa revoked back in 2007 because of her fight with photographers earlier the same year, but a representative insists 2009 gigs will "not be impacted in any way".

ANDERSON BIDS TO FREE FLORIDA CHIMPS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

PAMELA ANDERSON has joined forces with animal rights campaigners in a bid to free apes kept in "squalid’ captivity in the U.S. state of Florida.
Anderson has written an open letter to Florida governor Charlie Crist, targetting ‘road-side zoos’ in the state, where she claims chimpanzees and other animals are kept in inadequate enclosures.
The actress warns a tragic accident - like the chimpanzee attack in Connecticut in February (09) that left a woman maimed - is just waiting to happen.
Anderson - a regular campaigner for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - writes, "With so many frustrated great apes stewing in squalid facilities in Florida, it is only a matter of time before a similar tragedy strikes your state. PETA and I appeal to you to take action to prevent Florida’s roadside zoos from keeping great apes and to ensure that these intelligent primates are transferred to approved sanctuaries to live out the remainder of their lives in suitable surroundings." The former Baywatch star is heading to Florida this weekend (14Mar09) to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida.

LEGAL THREAT OVER JACKSON TICKETS ROW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

Bosses at concert promoters AEG Live are threatening legal action against a ticket agency for allegedly selling prized seats at MICHAEL JACKSON’s comeback shows to another company.
AEG tied up a deal with Viagogo to market premium price packages for the highly anticipated shows at London’s O2 Arena.
But a spokesman for the promoters has accused Viagogo of breaking an agreement not to sell tickets to touts or other brokers - and threatened an injunction to protect the deal.
Randy Phillips, chief executive of AEG Live, says: "My lawyers are going into court to seek an injunction. They (Viagogo staff) sent out an email to touts and brokers offering tickets for sale. We are going to come down very hard on them." Jackson is to play 50 dates at the O2 stretching into next year (2010) - a residency which will generate $100 million (£70 million) in ticket sales alone.
And Phillips is delighted the shows sold out within hours, as it will help the venue ride out the current global financial crisis.
He adds, "He (Jackson) is fantastic. He is physically and mentally ready to get back in the game."

PALTROW CASTS DOUBT OVER CO-STAR PHOENIX’S ‘RAP CAREER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:48 am

GWYNETH PALTROW has cast doubt over her TWO LOVERS co-star JOAQUIN PHOENIX’s new ‘music career’ admitting she suspects it’s a hoax.
The Gladiator star recently revealed he had quit acting to become a rapper.
He has since made a string of bizarre public appearances, including two nightclub performances, the last of which ended with an angry confrontation with a heckler, in Miami, Florida on Wednesday (11Mar09).
Sceptics have suggested Phoenix’s hip hop endeavours are being staged as part of a prank project - and Paltrow admits she’s not convinced by his claims.
The actress tells MTV, "I’m not a hundred percent sure that that’s really going to be the case. I think that there might be some other explanation or something going on. I’m not quite sure what, but I can’t believe that he’s really going to quit forever to become a rapper. It seems odd."
