WINEHOUSE DENIED VISA FOR COACHELLA
British singer AMY WINEHOUSE has been forced to pull out of a forthcoming U.S. concert after she was denied a visa following her charge with assault on Thursday (05Mar09).
The troubled pop star was due to play the annual Coachella music festival in California next month (Apr09).
But officials have refused to issue Winehouse entry into the U.S. - after she was charged with assault for allegedly punching a fan in September last year (08).
A spokesperson for the star confirms, "She is not appearing at Coachella this year in the light of current legal issues." It is not the first time the star has been blighted by visa trouble - she had to perform at the 2008 Grammy Awards via satellite from London after she was banned entry over her arrest for drug possession in Norway in 2007.
