British TV presenter DERMOT O’LEARY feels a connection with MICHAEL JACKSON following the superstar’s London appearance on Thursday (05Mar09).
O’Leary introduced the King of Pop to 2,500 fans at the city’s O2 Arena, as the Thriller hitmaker formally announced ten comeback concerts in July (09).
And The X Factor host O’Leary admits he felt a bond with Jackson during a brief conversation before the star’s 124-word address.
O’Leary tells British tabloid The Sun that Jackson asked him, "Dermot, is the teleprompter on?" He says, "I just went, ‘Yes Michael, it’s on’. Just like that I think we bonded."

Pop superstar MICHAEL JACKSON ‘couldn’t be in better shape’ according to a friend and business manager - rubbishing reports the singer’s health is deteriorating.
Dr Tohme Tohme blasted claims the Thriller star is dogged by respiratory problems and had been struck by deadly superbug MRSA.
He insists Jackson took time off his musical career to care for his three children - Prince, 11, Paris Katherine, 10, and Prince Michael II, five.
And he is adamant Jackson will use his huge comeback concerts in London in July (09) to prove his doubters wrong.
Tohme tells British tabloid the Daily Mirror, "(Jackson) has come back to put an end to all the bulls**t rumours about his health. I think he has answered his critics.
"He is back to his old self - he’s fine, and couldn’t be in better shape. He was away for all this time because he was dedicating his life to his children and being a single parent. This is the reason he took a break from music.
"It was his idea to make a comeback because he misses his fans and his fans have missed him. He is very excited and the shows this summer are going to be more spectacular than ever before." The newspaper also reports the King of Pop is set to double the number of shows to 20, after almost a million fans registered for tickets at London’s O2 Arena.

BRITNEY SPEARS has dismissed speculation she will leave her children with ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE while she thrills fans on her CIRCUS world tour - insisting her two young sons will be with her all the way.
The Toxic superstar made her concert comeback in her home state of Louisiana on Tuesday (03Mar09) night - and received a rousing reception from her first stadium audience in more than four years.
Before the North American jaunt kicked off, Spears was reportedly locked in legal wranglings with Federline over whether she would be able to bring Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James on the road.
Federline was rumoured to have objected to plans for the couple’s tots to reside at properties in Los Angeles, New Jersey and New Orleans, Louisiana because the agreement was made without his lawyers.
However, representatives subsequently quashed the reports, insisting Spears would be with her boys throughout the tour, and Federline would travel with the family to provide added support.
But speculation has mounted over the pop megastar’s involvement in her children’s life while on the road - with gossips suggesting she is too busy with her show to fully concentrate on their wellbeing.
Now, the star has fired back at the rumour mill - insisting there is no truth to the claims and that her family is a "huge inspiration".
A statement on her website reads, "Contrary to rumours linked to false articles, Britney Spears’ sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, will be joining her on the entire Circus tour and will be attending shows as planned.
"Britney’s family is a huge inspiration and she loves having them on the road with her."

Rapper SNOOP DOGG has invited CHRIS BROWN and RIHANNA onto his new MTV variety show - for a relationship showdown with TV self-help guru DR. PHIL MCGRAW.
Promoting his new programme in Los Angeles, Snoop has offered the on/off couple a TV forum to discuss their problems - and recount what happened a month ago (08Feb09).
Brown has been charged with two felony assault charges for attacking and allegedly beating his girlfriend during a late-night row. Rihanna was left with cuts and bruises and needed medical attention for her injuries.
Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, is refusing to take sides, but he would like both Brown and Rihanna on his new show, Dogg After Dark.
He tells HollyScoop.com, "I would definitely have them on the show.
"I would have to have Dr. Phil on the show because that’s not my section or department, but I’m sure Dr. Phil would have some advice… If he wasn’t available I would get Dr. Dre to come on the show for them."

JENNIFER LOPEZ has heaped praise on her husband MARC ANTHONY - because he’s always willing to get up in the middle of the night to attend to their twins.

Movie tough-guy SYLVESTER STALLONE is nursing an injured hand - he damaged his thumb practising fight scenes for his new action film THE EXPENDABLES.
Stallone has recruited an all-star cast of Hollywood hardmen - including Jet Li, Mickey Rourke and Jason Statham - to star in the upcoming project, about a group of mercenaries who set out to overthrow a dictator.
But the 62-year-old, who will also direct the movie, is already suffering after rehearsing his dangerous stunts - but insists the injury will not delay filming.
A spokesperson for the star tells WENN, "Mr. Stallone injured his hand practising realistic fighting for his upcoming film The Expendables. The injury was to his thumb (but) the production will be on location in Brazil later this month and then New Orleans."

JULIA ROBERTS was shocked when she first read the script for her new movie DUPLICITY - because it called for her to get naked.
The actress has a partial nude bedroom scene in the film - and had to tone down writer/director Tony Gilroy’s original vision.
She explains, "I thought, ‘Y’know, just remember you’ve hired me… I’m, like, the G-rated actress.’" But the saucy scene wasn’t the only uncomfortable moment for the Pretty Woman star - she had to kiss co-star Clive Owen while her cameraman husband Danny Moder looked on.

Dance star MOBY is considering abandoning his native New York - because he hates the city’s brutal winter weather.
The Porcelain hitmaker was born and bred in the Big Apple, but is growing tired of the snow storms and sub-zero weather that batters Manhattan for three months of the year.
And he admits he is considering "migrating" to somewhere hot and sunny for winter.
Moby writes online, "I love New York. It’s my home, the city of my birth, and arguably the most interesting and tolerant and diverse city on the planet. But let’s be honest, New York in February (and/or March and/or January) sucks. Fallen rap star VANILLA ICE has sensationally apologised for his hugely successful hit ICE ICE BABY - insisting he was a music industry "puppet" at the time the single was released.
The former hip-hop star, real name Robert Van Winkle, topped the U.S. Billboard chart in 1990 - making the song the first rap track to land the number one spot in the Hot 100 chart.
The hit rocketed the star into overnight superstardom, but his success was short-lived, and he faced a series of legal problems due to sampling Queen & David Bowie’s Under Pressure on the track without permission.
Vanilla Ice also came under scrutiny due to his erroneous claims about his background, in which he falsely stated he grew up as a gang member in the ghetto and went to a predominantly-black high school.
And now the star, who last released an album in 2006 and has made a string of reality show appearances, admits he is ashamed of the song which made him famous.
He says in a video posted on YouTube, "I’m sorry. Even though Ice Ice Baby sold over 40 million copies worldwide.
"I’m sorry for the hairdos, the baggy pants, the scandals and I’m sorry about the music. I was young, manipulated and I was a puppet." Ice, Ice Baby was recently voted as the second worst song in history by editors of Spinner.com and AOL Radio.

ARCADE FIRE rocker WIN BUTLER is baffled by rock rival WAYNE COYNE’s recent attack on his band, insisting the pair has only met once - and he’s a huge fan.
Flaming Lips frontman Coyne lashed out at Arcade Fire in a recent Rolling Stone article, accusing the band of being "pompous" and abusing their crew.
He said, "I get really tired of their pompousness. We’ve played some shows with them and they really treat people like s**t.
"Whenever I’ve been around them, I’ve found that they not only treated their crew like s**t, they treated the audience like s**t.
"They treated everybody in their vicinity like s**t. I thought, ‘Who do they think they are?’ I don’t know why people put up with it. I wouldn’t put up with it." Butler was left astonished by the outburst, and has taken to the internet to defend his group.
He writes, "Wow, I can’t believe I am actually writing to defend my band’s ‘real’ personality… The only time we have ever shared a stage with the Flaming Lips was… at a festival in Las Vegas (over three years ago).
"I was really nervous to meet (Coyne) and I felt a little weird that we were playing after them. We traded a little hello, but he was a hard guy to get a read on.
"I can’t imagine a reason why we would have been pompous towards The Flaming Lips, a band we have always loved, on that particular night, all those years ago. Unless I was way more jet-lagged then I remember."

MARIE OSMOND owes her new memoir to a house fire and a busybody pal.
The singer lost her journals in a blaze in 2005 and decided to try and recreate them while she could remember her life.
So she sat down with a friend and started reminiscing.
She says, "I had 30 years of journals that burned and so I asked my executive producer… I said, ‘Hey, while I remember things, would you kinda jot ‘em down?’ "Well, she shipped them off to my book publisher, and this is my new book." The book, Might as Well Laugh about It Now, will hit stores in April (09).

British rockers STARSAILOR were stunned when ROLLING STONES legend RONNIE WOOD raced through an hour in the studio with them on a battered old guitar.
The guitarist agreed to contribute riffs to the title track of All The Plans after befriending the band when they supported the Stones on tour.
But he wasn’t planning to hang around.
Frontman James Walsh tells WENN, "To have him take the time out to play on the album was a bit of a dream come true really. He was there for not much more than an hour. He just turned up with a battered old Stratocaster and did the business.
"It all came about because of the gigs that we’ve done with them. We asked him to do it - he kindly took up the offer. Of all the Stones, he is the most gregarious and the most up for collaborations as well.
"He did something with The Charlatans not too long ago - you can’t imagine (Mick) Jagger or (Keith) Richards doing anything like that. I can’t really remember the last time either of them branched out from the Stones."

OZZY OSBOURNE’s son JACK has lashed out at R&B star CHRIS BROWN over alleged assault charges - even though his own father once tried to kill his mum in a drunken rage.
The rocker spent a week in jail in 1989 after he came close to strangling his wife Sharon, but that incident hasn’t prompted Jack Osbourne to go easy on Brown, who is accused of beating up girlfriend Rihanna a month ago (08Feb09).
The younger Osbourne says, "It’s one thing when you’re, like, an alcoholic and messed up… but when you’re a 19-year-old R&B singer, like, ‘Dude, come on… Really, you’ve got to beat up your girlfriend?’"

GUNS N’ ROSES’ much-anticipated world tour is set to be a really hot ticket if reports they’ll hit the road with VAN HALEN are to be believed.
Axl Rose will be taking his rock band out on the road this summer (09) and internet reports suggest they’ll share the bill with the reunited Van Halen.
Rose has refused to expand on his tour plans, stating only, "We have some exciting things in the works this year for GN’R. I’m looking forward to it." But Spain’s Kobetasonik festival in June (09) is not on his list of plans - Rose has denied the group will be playing the event, despite reports to the contrary.

TV prankster STEVE-O has grown sick of his many tattoos, and is asking fans for a creative way to cover them up.
The Jackass star has body art adorning much of his physique, including a likeness of his face etched across his entire back.
The 34-year-old has decided it’s time to change his look, so he has launched an online contest, inviting fans to redesign him.
Steve-O writes on his blog, �I�ve decided that it is time to alter some tattoos, starting with the pot leaf on my wrist and the dribbling d**k on my arm. I want to make sure that whatever I change them into is really rad, though, so I am officially asking for your help.
"Please get to doodling and submit to us your tattoo designs to cover up these f**king things.� The top three designs will be announced on 23 March (09) - with winners receiving a free T-shirt.

Former football star-turned-actor BRIAN BOSWORTH has been arrested for driving under the influence.
The ex-NFL player, who made appearances in Three Kings and The Longest Yard, was taken into custody by cops in the early hours of Friday (06Mar07).
The 43-year-old is being held in Hollywood on $5,000 (£3, 500) bail.
Bosworth played for Oklahoma before retiring three years into a 10-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks due to a shoulder injury.
