Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:21 pm

NICOLE RICHIE and her rocker boyfriend JOEL MADDEN are reportedly planning to wed after learning they are expecting their second child.
The couple welcomed daughter Harlow Winter Kate Madden in January 2008, and Madden recently announced his socialite belle is pregnant again.
Richie and Madden were forced to deny rumours they were heading down the aisle last summer (08), but In Touch Weekly magazine claims they are seriously considering making their union official now that their family is rapidly expanding.
A close pal tells the publication, "They are old-fashioned in some ways. Now their second baby is coming, they both want to make it legal." And Richie has already found the perfect dress - a vintage Yves Saint Laurent gown she’s been saving for months.
The insider adds, "It’s been hanging in the back of her closet. She always planned to wear it on a very special occasion." News of a wedding has been welcomed by Richie’s pop star father Lionel Richie - but he admits he is never kept up to date with the lovers’ plans.
He laughs, "I’m the first one to pay for it and the last one to know!"

IGGY POP TO RELEASE JAZZ ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:18 pm

Hellraiser IGGY POP is deserting his rock roots to record an album of jazz songs.
The Stooges frontman claims he is "sick" of uninspiring guitar music, and is embracing a new musical direction inspired by the mellow tones of American music great Louis Armstrong for his new album Preliminaires.
Pop reveals, "It’s a quieter album with some jazz overtones. That’s because at one point I just got sick of listening to idiot thugs with guitars, banging out crappy music. And I was starting to listen to a lot of New Orleans-era Louis Armstrong, Jelly Roll Morton-type of jazz."

She writes on her blog, "I’m a demon at Scrabble, and I’ve challenged her to a tournament.
"I can never be a better singer than her, but I sure can hope to get the word ‘hexagons’ on a triple word score, you feel me?"

WENTZ TO MAKE CHILDREN’S ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:15 pm

FALL OUT BOY rocker PETE WENTZ’s new role as a father has inspired him to write an album of music for children.
The bassist has written a lullaby to help his four-month-old son Bronx Mowgli, whose mother is pop star Ashlee Simpson, to fall asleep.
And recording the tune for the tot has prompted him to plan an entire album of music for kids.
He explains, "To get our son to sleep we play him Bob Dylan’s You Belong To Me. Or a little Sinatra. My boy’s probably the last person in the world to appreciate my singing voice. Although I wrote a lullaby especially for him - you’ll find it on our new album if you look hard enough - it’s a hidden track.
"We had so much fun doing it I’m going to put out an album of songs for children.

CHINESE PROMOTER BLAMES ‘TOUGH ECONOMIC SITUATION’ FOR AXING OASIS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:15 pm

A Chinese concert promoter is taking the blame for cancelling a string of OASIS concerts in the country, insisting the Communist government had nothing to do with the decision.
The Wonderwall hitmakers were due to play sell-out shows in Beijing and Shanghai in April (09), but announced on Monday (02Mar09) that the dates had been scrapped.
According to the band, officials at the Chinese Ministry of Culture revoked the rockers’ performance licence after learning guitarist Noel Gallagher had appeared at a Free Tibet Benefit Concert on Randall’s Island in New York in 1997.
A statement read: "Oasis are extremely disappointed that they are now being prevented from undertaking their planned tour of mainland China and hope that the powers that be within China will reconsider their decision and allow the band to perform to their Chinese fans at some stage in the future." But concert promoters at Beijing All Culture Communication Company Limited have dismissed the band’s claims, insisting the "tough economic situation" forced them to cancel the gigs.
A company spokesperson, known only as Luo, says, "I have no money. It’s normal in an environment of economic crisis… It has nothing to do at all with the Tibet problem."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:12 pm

The former Charlie’s Angels star, 62, was first diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2006 and began undergoing chemotherapy. Doctors proclaimed her cancer-free one year later, but the disease returned within a few months, prompting the actress to fly to Germany where she received an advanced round of treatment.

JACKSON COMEBACK TOUR ANNOUNCEMENT EXPECTED ON THURSDAY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

MICHAEL JACKSON will unveil plans for his 30-date residency at London’s O2 Arena on Thursday (05Mar09), according to U.K. reports.
The press conference will end fevered speculation that the King of Pop plans to make an explosive comeback by staging a series of concerts in the British capital, according to Sky News.
A source tells WENN Jackson was due to land at a London airport at 2pm (GMT) on Tuesday (03Mar09) and will appear in person at the press conference to make the announcement.
The Thriller hitmaker’s last major tour was in 1996, and his most recent album, Invincible, was released eight years ago in 2001.
Reports have suggested the residency could pull in $214.5 million (£150 million) - netting the star a mammoth $7.15 million (£5 million) pay cheque per show.
It is believed revenue from the residency will help Jackson’s waning fortune - he was forced to sell his beloved Neverland Ranch to a private equity firm last year (08) after falling behind on the $3 million (£2.1 million)-per-year running costs.
The string of shows will trump fellow pop superstar Prince’s stint at the venue in 2007, which saw the Purple Rain legend sell-out the O2 for 21 dates.

WENTZ: ‘BRONX HELPS ME COMBAT BIPOLAR DISORDER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

FALL OUT BOY rocker PETE WENTZ has credited his new son BRONX MOWGLI with helping him keep his bipolar disorder under control.
The bassist has battled with the psychiatric condition since he was a child - but admits he has finally found peace of mind since welcoming his first child with pop star wife Ashlee Simpson, in November (08).
He says, "While I’ll always be bipolar, I find it easier to deal with now. With marriage and fatherhood, I’ve finally found two fixed points in my life. They’ve taught me patience. They’ve also taught me that I don’t need to feel guilty about being happy. My emotional seasons are less extreme.
"In the past my brain would never stop. Now I’m a father, the world no longer revolves around me.
"When I’m with Bronx, he’s got my complete attention. It fascinates me to speculate on what he’s thinking and feeling at any given moment. I also love to speculate about what kind of man he’s going to become. He could be another Neil Armstrong or Christopher Columbus. Who is he going to fall in love with? What’s his hair going to be like when he’s 15? Then, while I’m fantasising about all this stuff, he’ll go to put his hand in his mouth and end up smacking himself in the eye. He’s the single greatest achievement of my life."

MONGREL’S LOWKEY DETAINED AND INTERROGATED BY ISRAELI FORCES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:33 pm

MONGREL rapper LOWKEY has been left "frustrated" and disturbed by a recent trip to Israel - after he was detained at an airport and subjected to "paranoid mind games" by the country’s police force.
The British star flew into Tel Aviv last week (ends27Feb09) to play a series of charity gigs to raise funds to help rebuild the troubled area around the Gaza Strip, but his travels were marred by his experiences immediately after landing in the city.
According to NME.com, Lowkey had his U.K. passport confiscated and was questioned and detained for nine hours before being released.
He tells the website, "As soon as I stepped off the plane with my guide to Israel tucked under my arm, I was pulled away to the side and interrogated as to why I was in Israel, by a man who wore no uniform identifying himself as any type of security but was clearly heavily armed.
"After this I carried on through to passport control. After giving over my British passport it was confiscated. I was then detained for nine hours. During this time I was interrogated about many aspects of my life, what the purpose of my trip was, where my parents are from and where I planned to go in Israel.
"Eventually I was told my story was a lie and was subjected to a bout of the Israeli polices paranoid mind games. I was eventually released, knowing that no matter how frustrating what I just went through was, I knew that it was not even a miniscule fraction of the degradation Palestinian people are subjected to on a daily basis."
