TRAVOLTA AND PRESTON ‘PUSHING THROUGH GRIEVING PROCESS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:42 am

Hollywood couple JOHN TRAVOLTA and KELLY PRESTON are slowly overcoming the grief of losing their teenage son last month (Jan09) - for the sake of their young daughter.
Jett Travolta died at the beginning of January after suffering a seizure while on a family vacation in the Bahamas.
But a source close to the family insists they are gradually coming to terms with their loss, so eight year old Ella can live as normal a life as possible.
The insider tells People.com, "(They are) regrouping and pushing through the grieving process. They are trying to grieve and return to some sort of normalcy for Ella. But life isn’t normal without Jett." The devastated actors have also been forced to face the controversy of a botched bribery plot involving an ambulance driver who took Jett to hospital on 2 January.
Tarino Lightbourne allegedly conspired with former Bahamas senator Pleasant Bridgewater to release a document related to the teenager’s death. They have both been charged with attempted extortion and conspiracy to extort a reported $25 million (£17.6 million) from the Travoltas.
The source adds, "They were so hurt by the moochers (conmen). But things have calmed down. Every day it gets better."

ELTON PLANS ODDBALL ALIEN MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:42 am

SIR ELTON JOHN and his partner DAVID FURNISH are planning to produce an unusual sci-fi movie which mixes aliens with JANE AUSTEN characters.
Bosses at the couple’s Rocket Films production company have given them the greenlight to start work on Pride & Predator, a horror picture, in which an extraterrestrial spacecraft lands in genteel 18th century Britain.
Confirming the news, Furnish says, "It felt like a fresh and funny way to blow apart the done-to-death Jane Austen genre by literally dropping this alien into the middle of a costume drama, where he stalks and slashes to horrific effect." Elton will supervise the film’s soundtrack and executive produce the movie, which is due to start filming in London later this year (09).

WINSLET ‘TOO BUSY’ FOR EXERCISE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:39 am

Oscar nominee KATE WINSLET has put her new slimline figure down to "a wing and a prayer", insisting she has been too busy to even contemplate going to the gym.
The British beauty, who has struggled with her weight since she was a teenager, is currently showing off a more toned physique.
But the Titanic star, who will compete in the Best Actress category for her role in The Reader at Sunday’s (22Oct09) Academy Awards, insists she hasn’t been slimming down for the big ceremony.
Asked whether she has been dieting for the red carpet, she says, "N.O. (I) absolutely do not. I’m very sort of relaxed and vocal about these things. I have not done a stitch of exercise since October. I literally have not had the time. And I’m just going to eat normally, I’m not going to make cuts. If I’m keeping it together it’s by a wing and a prayer. I just want to enjoy this."

MOSS SLAMS QUEUE-JUMPERS CRUISE & HOLMES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:39 am

British supermodel KATE MOSS harbours a deep dislike of famous celebrity couples after she saw TOM CRUISE and his wife KATIE HOLMES use their A-list status to queue jump at a New York fashion event.
The catwalk beauty was attending the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala in Manhattan last year (08) and was forced to join a long line of guests waiting to greet the event’s organisers.
Moss claims to have stood in the queue for an hour, patiently waiting her turn, and was outraged when Hollywood stars Cruise and Holmes walked straight to the front and were immediately admitted.
She tells New York magazine, "We stood in line for an hour or something to say hello… We’re going, ‘I can’t believe this. You can’t smoke. You can’t have a drink.’ "(Then) Tom and Katie just walked right up to the front, and we were like, ‘Who the f**k are they? They’re not even in fashion.’"

JOHNSON SUES OVER NASH BRIDGES PROFITS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:39 am

NASH BRIDGES star DON JOHNSON is suing the producers of the hit 1990s cop drama, alleging he’s been conned out of hundreds of million of dollars.
The actor starred as a San Francisco police detective in the show, which ran from 1996 to 2001.
Johnson, who also served as executive producer, accuses bosses at Rysher Entertainment and Qualia Capital, the companies behind the show, of failing to hand over his cut of the profits, eight years after Nash Bridges was taken off the air.
In legal papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Tuesday (17Feb09), Johnson - who is a co-owner of the show’s copyright - claims the series earned over $300 million (£211 million) in revenue, and more than $150 million (£105 million) from syndication.
But he has yet to receive anything from Rysher Entertainment and Qualia Capital executives - and is suing for half of the profits, according to TMZ.com.

WACHOWSKIS ‘CONSIDERING’ SUPERMAN TRILOGY

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:36 am

THE MATRIX filmmakers ANDY and LARRY WACHOWSKI have been offered the chance to take over the SUPERMAN franchise and make a trilogy of movies about the Man of Steel, according to reports.
The superhero franchise has been on hold since 2006’s Superman Returns, which was directed by Bryan Singer.
According to movie website Ain’t it Cool News, Singer has turned down the chance to make another Superman movie, paving the way for studios bosses at Warner Bros. to offer the job to the Wachowskis.
The site was tipped off by a recent interview James McTeigue - who directed the brothers’ film adaptation of comic V for Vendetta - gave to a German TV station.
McTeigue revealed the Wachowskis’ plans to make a movie about comic character Plastic Man have been postponed, and that they are considering a three-part follow-up to Superman Returns.
A source tells Ain’t it Cool News, "(The Wachowskis) are currently reviewing their options as it’s like being asked to take the final play in a Super Bowl final.
"Making a Superman movie is unbelievable as they have grown up in the world of comic books and they would be ideal for the project."

Kevin Jonas says, "We always said we wish we could sit in the front row and watch our show and we obviously never could because if we could there’d be a problem. This provides for that in a healthy way." (KL/WN&RXM/IG) WENN - SIXTH - HOLLYWOOD, SHOWBIZ & PEOPLE NEWS - 17 FEB 2009

PRODIGY’S SECRET PORN SOUNDTRACK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:36 am

British dance band THE PRODIGY have a seedy secret in their music back catalogue - they once recorded the soundtrack for a space-inspired porn movie.
The group are currently preparing for the release of their first album in five years, Invaders Must Die.
But if fans are too impatient to wait for the new disc, scheduled for release later this month (Feb09), they can check out 1999 adult film The Uranus Experiment - which features backing music secretly taped by the Smack My B**ch Up stars.
Frontman Keith Flint reveals, "You know the planes they use to train astronauts? They take them up to the curvature of the earth, then plummet really fast, and it gives the astronauts zero gravity for about three minutes. They filmed it (the porn film) in that. When the man climaxes, it all floats around in the air."

MCKAGAN OFFERS GUNS N’ ROSES REUNION HOPE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:33 am

Rocker DUFF MCKAGAN has given GUNS N’ ROSES fans hope for a full reunion by refusing to rule out the idea.
The bassist, who currently performs alongside former Guns N’ Roses stars Slash and Matt Sorum in Velvet Revolver, admits he still "loves" ex-frontman Axl Rose and he’d seriously consider a get together - if everything felt right.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "I certainly don’t sit here and go, ‘God, I wish that’s going to happen.’ I don’t even know what’s going to happen in four weeks from now in my life so I’m not going to be one of those guys who’s like, ‘F**k that, that’ll never happen.’ "It could very well happen. It would have to be right and it would have to be righteous for everybody and for the fans and it would have to be like a kick ass thing, or it would just kind of be sour I think.
"I love Axl. We’ve been through a lot of s**t together and s**t nobody can take away from us, no matter what people try to make of a squabble."

BROWN HIRES GIBSON’S REP TO SALVAGE CAREER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 12:33 am

Embattled R&B singer CHRIS BROWN has hired MEL GIBSON’s publicist in a bid to help limit the damage his recent arrest will have on his career.
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker is facing possible jail time after he was charged by Los Angeles police with making criminal threats following a heated argument with ex-girlfriend Rihanna in the early hours of 8 February (09). The incident is said to have left the Umbrella star in need of hospital treatment and she has since returned to her native Barbados to recuperate.
Brown broke his silence on the day’s events on Sunday (15Feb09), when he released a statement admitting he was "saddened" by the incident and claimed he was getting counselling from his pastor and his family.
And the 19 year old is taking further steps to salvage his pop star status - by hiring Alan Nierob, the man who saved Gibson’s movie career after his infamous anti-Semitic outburst in 2006, when he was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI).

MADONNA BIDS TO MAKE CHILD CUSTODY AGREEMENT LEGAL IN THE U.S.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

MADONNA has fuelled rumours she is making New York her full-time home - by launching a court bid to make her custody agreement with ex-husband GUY RITCHIE legal in the U.S.
The couple’s six year marriage ended last year (08), and they quickly thrashed out a deal in the British courts to share the care of their two children Rocco, eight, and adopted David, three.
They joined forces again last week (13Feb09) to file papers at Manhattan Supreme Court, asking a judge to approve the agreement - which will keep the two boys jetting between Ritchie’s English home and Madonna’s in the Big Apple.
According to the New York Post, the deal also means David and Rocco must attend synagogue and observe the Sabbath - in keeping with Madonna’s Kabbalah faith - and Ritchie must upgrade his internet connection so the star can keep in touch with her kids online when they are in the U.K.

POLANSKI DOCUMENTARY MAKER TO COVER CHILD SEX HEARING

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

Actress/filmmaker MARINA ZENOVICH will be filming the proceedings as ROMAN POLANSKI’s lawyers attempt to have a 32-year-old child sex case against their client dismissed - in the hope it will make a thrilling sequel to her new movie ROMAN POLANSKI: WANTED & DESIRED.
The 1977 scandal drove the director into exile - and he has never returned to America, where he faces immediate arrest.
Attorneys for Polanski now claim misconduct in the ongoing case, and insist it should be dropped.
A new hearing begins in Los Angeles on Tuesday (17Feb09), and Zenovich has been granted permission to film it.
Her new documentary will feature heavily in the trial - Polanski’s legal team submitted the film to the judge prior to the hearing, and they’ll be using transcript excerpts in court.
Zenovich is surprised her film has become a pivotal part of the hearing. She tells the Los Angeles Times newspaper, "I just wanted to finish the film and get it out there so people could see it."

GOLDBERG SLAMS SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

Comedic actress WHOOPI GOLDBERG has hit out at bosses of social networking websites - because she’s tired of people putting up fake profiles and using her image online.
The Academy Award winner, 53, refuses to create an online profile, because she already feels powerless over the countless pages attributed to her on websites like Facebook.com.
And the star is particularly distressed about a recent revision to the website’s terms of service agreement, giving Facebook’s owners the rights to any pictures and words uploaded by users.
She says, "There’s a Facebook page of mine, I never put it up. I don’t like these social sites for this reason, because you don’t know what they’re going to do with it (your information) and I have no recourse to get it taken down. I have no idea who put it up (but) there (are) pictures of me on there.
"The Facebook people said they would never use your image in a way you didn’t want to because they said, ‘The trust you place in us as a safe place to share information is what makes Facebook work’. Well, if that is the case then just get rid of the law if you really feel that way, then toss it out."
