JONAS BROTHERS star NICK JONAS has been mastering the art of the plastic Wiffle ball throw in his spare time and can hurl it at up to 73 miles-per-hour.
The teenager decided to perfect his throw after failing to hit the target during a charity event on U.S. TV show Ellen - and he quickly went from accuracy to velocity.
He says, "I went into training…I can get the ball up to 73 miles per hour." His determination has impressed his bandmate brothers.
Joe Jonas explains, "It’s so fast… He could seriously injure someone. It is amazing, it’s unreal." Jonas showed off his Wiffle ball skills during a return appearance on Ellen, which aired on Tuesday (17Feb09).

Rocker NIKKI SIXX has apologised for reducing a female fan to tears after he hurled abuse at her for throwing a water bottle on-stage during a recent MOTLEY CRUE gig.
The bassist was introducing the band’s 1991 song Primal Scream when the plastic missile was sent flying towards the platform, prompting Sixx to single out the culprit and publicly chastise her in front of thousands of fans.
He shouted, "You think that s**t’s funny motherf**ker. Suck my d**k motherf**ker, f**k you." But the rocker insists he didn’t realise the bottle was the same one he had discarded into the crowd just moments before - and admits his temper got the better of him.
He writes on his blog, "There was a recent event at one of our shows where someone threw a bottle at me during my speech and I got pretty pissed.
"The way it happened is, I threw a bottle of water to some fans and didn’t realise the very bottle I threw to the fans was thrown back at me. I have to admit, bands get pretty pissed when people throw shit at you onstage. I didn’t even think it was the same bottle, so with that being said, I’d like to say I’m sorry to the fan who threw the bottle back at me.
"These damn cliches seem to be true, like two wrongs don’t make a right… Rock ‘n’ roll, and temper tantrums… P.S.: These self-help books are really helping. Ha-Ha."

Def Jam Records have confirmed a replacement for late vice-president SHAKIR STEWART following his alleged suicide last year (08).
Stewart - who took over the role following the departure of rap mogul Jay-Z - was found shot dead in his Atlanta, Georgia apartment in November (08).
He is believed to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Now, the label’s chairman Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid has announced that producer and music consultant Christopher Hicks - who has worked with Usher, Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Lopez - will take over the vacant position.
In a statement, Reid writes, "Chris has a musician’s ear for talent and hit songs that has brought him huge long-term success in the industry.
"His track record in Atlanta has resulted in breaking some of the biggest names in Urban and hip-hop out of that city over the past decade. We look forward to the next quarter-century of history with Def Jam as we welcome Chris aboard."

The rapping rocker has teamed up with bosses at the Michigan Brewing Company in his home state to create a new brew.

Playing KEVIN COSTNER’s love interest in critically-mauled action film WATERWORLD left JEANNE TRIPPLEHORN so scarred she considered quitting movies for good.
The Basic Instinct star admits she struggled with the way the futuristic film turned out.
The 1995 film is considered one the of the most expensive flops of all time; it cost $175 million (£125million) to make and only recouped $88 million (£62million) at the U.S. box office.
She tells More magazine, "In retrospect, I realise it made me reluctant about films. There were things that were so out of my control and a bit overwhelming."

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE was so nervous when his William Rast clothing line hit the catwalk at New York Fashion Week on Monday (16Feb09), he insisted that bailing out the Grammy Awards was nothing by comparison.
The pop superstar was asked to fill in for an absent Rihanna at the Grammys on 8 February (09) - and he faced the prospect of having to persuade his hero Al Green to join him onstage.
But that last minute phonecall to a bathing Green was nowhere near as nerve-racking as his fashion show.
Before his latest designs hit the runway, Timberlake said, "I think I’m actually a little more nervous tonight than I would be calling Al Green two hours before the Grammys and asking him to come sing Let’s Stay Together."

Asked to plan her dream dinner party in the new issue of style magazine Allure, the Oscar winner insists Barack Obama, his wife Michelle and their kids would be at the top of her invite list.
She says, "We’re going to start with the Obamas. The girls can play with my kids." Roberts would also invite best pals Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney, comedienne Tina Fey, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson and Closer director Mike Nichols and his broadcaster wife Diane Sawyer.

Former BOND girls JANE SEYMOUR and DENISE RICHARDS have teamed up for a new comedy.
The two actresses will appear in Freeloaders; Richards will play herself, and Seymour, a wealthy Hollywood socialite.
The film will also feature a cameo from British tycoon Sir Richard Branson.
Richards played 007’s love interest Christmas Jones in The World Is Not Enough, while Brit Seymour was Roger Moore’s Solitaire in 1973’s Live & Let Die.
The two actresses have something else in common - Richards has signed on as a contestant in the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars - the talent show Seymour once took part in.

Actor GARY COLLINS has been charged with two counts of drink driving.
The 70-year-old U.S. TV star was arrested in Montecito, California at the end of January (09) after police spotted him driving a motor home erratically.
Collins was almost four times over the legal limit, according to TMZ.com.

Actress ASHLEY JUDD joined conservation activists outside Kentucky’s state Capitol on Tuesday (17Feb09) in a bid to stop the mining of Appalachian peaks.
The protesters were raising awareness of the practice known as mountaintop removal, where regal peaks are legally blasted to unearth coal.
Judd was among 500 people who joined a rally in support of legislation that would end the mining.
She told reporters she visited mountaintop removal sites last year (08) and was shocked by the "barren moonscapes" she saw."

The bosses of herbal health supplement Airborne have offered to hand over $1 million (£714,300) to charity if Oscar winners take their product up to the podium with them on Sunday (22Feb09).
The Airborne $1 million has been offered to all those competing for Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress.
And if the winners help plug the product during the Oscars telecast, they’ll each land $1 million for their chosen charity.
Airborne co-founder Rider McDowell, whose schoolteacher wife Victoria created the supplement, says, "It just seemed to me, in this economy, charities are really struggling (and) it seemed like a good time to reward some charities and, if it goes through, we’ll be thrilled to provide the funds to the charity.
"Someone like Meryl Streep, who has been up there before, might see it as a way to get a million bucks for a charity close to her heart."

JONAS BROTHERS star NICK JONAS has promised he’ll never complain about the band’s superfans - because he’d be disappointed if they didn’t scream or bang on car windows at the sight of the boys.
The youngest member of the band admits he loves the "craziness" surrounding the group - and he’d never brand the fans’ actions as over the top.
He says, "I would be more worried if they didn’t scream. People like pounding on our car when we’re completely stopped and you can’t go anywhere." And he insists everyone will be able to see the madness the siblings often find themselves in when their new 3-D concert movie is released later this month (Feb09).
Nick adds, "One of the most special things about this movie is the fans because they make it come to life. They’re a part of the whole Jonas Brothers tour experience from their outfits to their signs and the incredible amount of people that are so excited from the beginning that the lights go out to the end of the show. Everyone doesn’t stop moving and we feed off the energy of the crowd."

JANE’S ADDICTION’s reunion plans have been given another boost - they’ve been booked to headline the eighth Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington in May (09).
The event marks the first official major show for the group’s original line-up, who performed the latest of a handful of low-key gigs in Los Angeles on Monday night (16Feb09).
Jane’s Addiction plan to tour with Nine Inch Nails later this year (09).
Nine Inch Nails are also lined up for Sasquatch, alongside Kings Of Leon, Erykah Badu, the Decemberists and Fleet Foxes, among others.

The widower of the woman killed when her car was hit by singer BRANDY’s vehicle in December 2006 has rejected an insurance settlement, to which the R&B star was planning to personally contribute.
Brandy had offered to pay Marouane Hdidou $200,000 (£142,860) on top of the $1 million (£714,000) he was being offered by an insurance company, according to TMZ.com.
But Hdidou has decided that’s not enough for the loss of his wife, Awatef Aboudihaj, who lost her life in a pile-up on a Los Angeles freeway.
