PINTO ‘HAS SECRET HUSBAND’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:45 pm

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE star FREIDA PINTO is secretly married to her beau ROHAN ANTAO, according to reports.
The Indian actress was said to have called off her engagement to Antao last week (15Jan09).
But Britain’s Daily Telegraph alleges that the couple actually wed in Goa, India in 2007 - deciding to keep the marriage under wraps to give Pinto a greater chance of winning film roles.
Now she has reportedly split from her husband as her blossoming movie career leaves her with little time for romance.
A source tells the publication, "Freida and Rohan fell in love at college and were extremely close. They were great together. The marriage was an impulsive decision and both of them went to a designer to get the gown made.
"Rohan was with her throughout her years as an actress when she was not at all famous. He supported her during the filming of Slumdog and the pair even celebrated the film’s success at the Toronto Film Festival together last year.
"However, she just stopped calling him around the time of the Golden Globes awards, when the film started to make waves internationally. He is completely shocked at being dumped and is heartbroken."

COLDPLAY TO HAND OUT FREE ALBUM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:45 pm

COLDPLAY are planning a treat for their loyal fans - the British band will give away an exclusive new album free of charge.
The Yellow hitmakers’ latest record - Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends - was the world’s best-selling album in 2008.
And frontman Chris Martin is keen to reward the group’s fans for their support - by handing out a free live album to people who attend their shows this summer.
He tells The Sun newspaper, “What we want to do is try to give away a live album for free. We’re playing a lot of shows in the summer and I think what we would like to do is - bearing in mind the recession we are in - record the live album then give it as a gift. We are just trying to work out how to do that.
“It’s obviously a bit tricky in terms of record contracts and things but it would be great. It’s a way of saying thank you. It’s a tough economy and people are paying a lot of money for tickets.
"We are trying to work out a way that, when you hand your ticket in at the door, you get given the recording. It would be such a cool thing to do. We just feel really grateful at the moment for all the support we get from our fans.”

MCKEOWN’S ‘SHAME’ AT SECRET LIFE OF BOOZE AND GAY SEX

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

Former BAY CITY ROLLERS star LES MCKEOWN was drugged and raped by a man during the band’s heyday - sparking a secret life of alcoholism and gay sex in public.
In a tell-all interview, the singer confesses his "shame" at cheating on his wife, hiding his sexuality, and almost destroying his family after the assault when he was just 19 years old.
But the Shang-A-Lang hitmaker admits he is "90 per cent fixed" after finally facing his demons and undergoing rehab in a bid to rebuild his life.
McKeown agreed to have treatment at a clinic in California as part of a Living TV documentary on rehab centres - and told camera crews of the sex attack which changed his life.
He says, "Date rape is the best way I can think of to explain how I was cajoled into a situation through drugs into having sex with another man. It happened in America in a hotel room. I was given (sedative) Quaaludes, a drug for lowering your inhibitions and making you horny. If a girl took it she’d be all over you.
"Afterwards I felt really used and abused. I never told anybody about it, not even the other guys in the band, because I was ashamed. Maybe part of the shame was that I actually enjoyed it. Before that, I always thought I was straight, but what was happening to me was very erotic and I felt pleasure from it.
"Now I think a lot of the shame I’ve felt ever since has to do with the person who did that to me. I hated him. I tried to drink it away and push that memory into obscurity." McKeown, 53, admits he has frequently met up for gay sex with strangers in the years since the incident, despite his 30-year marriage to Peko.
But he insists his course of rehab has cured his lust for gay sex, adding: "Since I’ve been home I’ve not had the inclination to phone anybody and say, ‘Do you fancy a sexual encounter in the woods?’ Maybe now it’s not a secret it’s not so naughty any more."

KNOWLES ‘HOSPITALISED AFTER PASSING OUT’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

R&B star SOLANGE KNOWLES was admitted to hospital when she collapsed after downing flu pills on a flight out of New York on Tuesday night (17Feb09).
Beyonce’s younger sister was treated by medics after taking the capsules onboard a plane and suffering an adverse reaction to the medication.
Her muddled mental state was laid bare in a series of bizarre postings on social networking website Twitter.com which she uploaded during the journey.
But three hours into the trip, her messages suddenly stopped after she complained of feeling sleepy - and three hours later she logged back on to the website to tell fans: "Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital?" Knowles is believed to have been heading back to her home in Los Angeles after attending the opening of an Armani store in New York on Tuesday evening.
In a series of Twitter postings during the flight, she told fans how she had swallowed NyQuil tablets to treat a cold.
She wrote: "I took a nyquil and i think maybe im getting high off it because im not sleeping. maybe i should close my eyes…" Minutes later she added, "think im certified loosing (sic) it on nyquil. going to sleep before i start freestyling on the plane… omg (Oh my God) i didnt know nyquil could do this to you. i took the pills tho. cant stomach cough syrup. trying to be proactive on this flight." She then added: "Never taking nyquil again. I feel so weird." The singer left further apparently random messages about various musicians and having "freezing" feet, before a break of three hours.
She then logged on again and wrote: "Woaah…… How’d I end up in the hospital? Woke up to 8 random people over me, laid out on the floor in baggage claim!… Guess I passed out! Scary. Hooked up to IV now . Apparantly I’m super dehydrated.
"I’ve never passed out before. S**t was like the movies. People standing over me saying ‘hello’… My mom is the best. LOL (laugh out loud). She’s like ‘Ain’t nothing wrong with this girl, she need some water and rest… Pull up the car!’ LOL "I’m like still in shock. I’ve never passed out before. Think it was the nyquil too. I felt weird when I woke up. This has been the day from hell. I’m done with the second IV. I just want to get in the bed and lay with (son) Julez. That’s all I want.
The singer later confirmed she had been released following treatment, writing: "I’m out! yay!… they let me go….. Rest. Water. Rest. Water."

WEST DESIGNED SEXY VIDEO GAMES

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:54 am

Rapper KANYE WEST was so forward-thinking as a pre-teen, he designed sexy video games in his spare time.
At 12, the forward-thinking star would spend his nights creating quirky games with penises and ghost vaginas.
He tells Details magazine, "I got into doing beats for the video games I used to try to make. My game was very sexual. The main character was, like, a giant penis. It was like Mario Brothers, but the ghosts were, like, vaginas.
"I’m 12 years old, and this is stuff 30 year olds are programming. You’d have to draw in and program every little step - it literally took me all night to do a step, ’cause the penis, y’know, had little feet and eyes."

SEX & THE CITY SEQUEL WILL DEAL WITH CREDIT CRISIS, SAYS PARKER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:51 am

SARAH JESSICA PARKER has a task on her hands when coming up with a plausible storyline for the second SEX AND THE CITY movie - because the film will have to address the global economic crisis.
The second big screen adaptation of the hit show was confirmed by writer/director Michael Patrick King earlier this month (Feb09), after months of speculation the four leading ladies - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis - had signed on to make another movie.
The first film, released last summer (08), proved a huge hit with cinemagoers - taking in $400 million (£274 million) worldwide.
But Parker admits she is concerned about how the movie’s writers will tackle the second film’s screenplay - because the world is in a different place than it was last year (08).
She tells Access Hollywood, "How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels? How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way? "There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges." But the actress has promised the film will thrill fans.
She adds, "I think we want this one to be a romp. The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it, and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp."

BULLOCK’S ALL ABOUT STEVE RELEASE PUSHED BACK

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:51 am

Studio bosses at the helm of SANDRA BULLOCK’s latest film ALL ABOUT STEVE have pushed back the release date - because there are so many romantic-comedies currently competing for a slice of box office success.
The film was slated to hit theatres in the U.S. on 6 March (09) but has been possibly held from the market until the autumn.
Twentieth Century Fox have reportedly decided to delay the film due to the fact so many female-marketed movies are vying for cinemagoers attentions at the the same time.
All About Steve’s release would have been up against newly-released Confessions of a Shopaholic and Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore’s star-studded rom-com He’s Just Not That In To You - which shot straight to the top of the U.S. box office earlier this month (Feb09).

CLOONEY & FARROW STEP UP DARFUR AID CAMPAIGN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:48 am

Hollywood activists GEORGE CLOONEY and MIA FARROW are stepping up their campaigns to publicise the plight of refugees in the Sudan with a series of visits to the country’s war torn Darfur region.
Clooney has been at the helm of a campaign to highlight the continued bloody conflict in the country, which is thought to have killed millions of innocent refugees.
Meanwhile, Farrow uses her role as a goodwill ambassador for the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to try and increase aid for Sudanese children affected by the bloodshed.
In a continued bid to help the refugees affected, Farrow has returned from a three-week fact-finding mission, just as Clooney is preparing to make his fifth visit to Darfur and eastern Chad.
Clooney says, "It is the right time to be here to support the people. We are waiting for the indictment of (Sudan President) Omar al-Beshir." Beshir is awaiting a decision by the International Criminal Court on whether a warrant for his arrest will be issued. He has been accused of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes.

ROURKE: ‘MY DOGS WERE THERE WHEN NO ELSE WAS’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:48 am

Comeback king MICKEY ROURKE has credited his beloved dogs with saving his life - insisting they helped him through his darkest days.
The actor spent years in the Hollywood wilderness after countless run-ins with police and hot-headed rows with movie executives, leading to the downfall of his big-screen career.
He hit rock bottom his split from ex wife Carre Otis, and even though he claims he didn’t consider suicide, Rourke admits he wished he could hide from his personal pain.
In a candid interview with U.S. TV veteran Barbara Walters, Rourke explains, "I sort of self-destructed and everything came out about fourteen years ago or so … the wife had left, the career was over, the money was not an ounce.
"What happened was, I was not in a really good place in my head and my heart, and I think when the wife left, it all came down and I didn’t want to be here.
"There’s always a weak way out. I’ve always known that. Yeah, I didn’t want to be here, but I didn’t want to kill myself. I just wanted to push a button and disappear." But Rourke was spurred on by his love for his pet dogs - confessing he couldn’t face leaving them to fend for themselves.
He adds, "The dogs were there when no one else was there. I think I hadn’t left the house for four or five months, and I was sitting in the closet, sleeping in the closet for some reason, and I was in a bad place, and I just remember I was thinking, ‘Oh, man, if I do this.’ And then I looked at my dog, Lowjack, and he made a sound, like a little almost human sound. I don’t have kids, the dogs became everything to me. The dog was looking at me going, ‘Who’s going to take care of me?’"

A source tells the publication, "It’s disastrous news, but Guy has promised to fix it." Ritchie is now allegedly battling to keep the project on track for its original November (09) release date.

JUDGE REJECTS POLANSKI’S BID TO DROP SEX CASE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:45 am

ROMAN POLANSKI’s bid to have his 32-year-old child sex case dismissed can not go ahead unless he makes an appearance in court, according to the Los Angeles judge overseeing the case.
The filmmaker is seeking for his 1977 sex assault case to be dropped after documentary Roman Polanski: Wanted & Desired offered new information about the actions of a now-deceased judge who presided over the initial case.
Polanski’s lawyers stated the information in the movie surmounted to judicial misconduct and insisted the case should now be dismissed.
But Judge Peter Espinoza rejected Polanski’s bid at a hearing on Tuesday (17Feb09), insisting the auteur must be face him in court for his case to be heard.
Despite admitting that some of the conduct in the documentary "was misconduct" Espinoza refused to drop the case, and gave Polanski until 7 May (09) to return to America if he wanted his case to be considered.
Polanski has refused to return to the U.S. since he went in self-exile following 42 days in police custody. He has never returned to America, where he faces immediate arrest.
He fled to France in 1978 after pleading guilty to having unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl.
