JONAS BROTHERS star NICK JONAS has reportedly split from girlfriend SELENA GOMEZ.
The teenage pair, both 16, has been romantically linked since last summer (08), but, despite repeated denials from both Jonas and Gomez, online gossips have continued to speculate about the status of their relationship.
America’s Star magazine claims Gomez and Jonas, who once dated Miley Cyrus, had been dating in secret for almost a year - but have now parted ways.
And Jonas’ busy schedule has been cited as the reason for the break-up.
A source tells the publication, "He’s a hard boy to date. He’s very into his music, and any girl comes second.
"Selena would often miss Nick, and he just wouldn’t be there. But they’re still friends. They’re both very mature. She won’t make a weird scene about it."

. rockers KINGS OF LEON and Welsh singer DUFFY were the big winners at the Brit Awards in London on Wednesday (18Feb09) night.
Duffy claimed the first award of the evening, taking home the British Female Solo Artist prize, and went on to pick up the British Breakthrough Act prize, before taking home the coveted Best British Album honour for Rockferry.
Kings of Leon scooped two awards, picking up the Best International Group and International Album for Only By The Night, while Elbow were named best British Group ahead of Coldplay, Radiohead, Take That and Girls Aloud.
Katy Perry saw off competition from Beyonce, Gabriella Cilmi, Pink and Santigold to collect the award for Best International Female Solo Artist, while Kanye West was named International Male Solo Artist of the year.
British pop group Girls Aloud picked up their first ever Brit Award, landing Best British Single for The Promise, while the Best British Live Act honour went to Iron Maiden
. Paul Weller picked up the award for Best British Male Solo Artist.
The show, at London’s Earl’s Court arena, was hosted by Australian pop star Kylie Minogue
. Rockers U2 followed up their opening performance at the Grammy Awards earlier this month (Feb09) by kicking off proceedings with a performance of their new single Get On Your Boots.
The evening also saw performances from Coldplay, Duffy, Girls Aloud, Kings Of Leon and Take That, while R&B singer Estelle joined the Ting Tings for a medley of their 2008 hits.
The final award of the night, for Outstanding Contribution to Music, was presented to dance duo the Pet Shop Boys, who then closed the show with another collaboration, performing with Lady GaGa and Killers frontman Brandon Flowers.

The wife of R&B superstar USHER has been released from a hospital in Brazil - just days after suffering a heart attack.
Tameka Foster went into cardiac arrest on 6 February (09) as she was being anaesthetised prior to having a "routine surgery", according to Usher’s publicists.
She was placed in an induced coma for 24 hours and transferred to the intensive care unit at Sirio-Libanes Hospital, where she was joined by her husband.
Now a spokeswoman for the hospital has confirmed Foster was discharged from the medical facility on Monday (16Feb09) - 10 days after her health scare.
However, the representative has refused to comment on the exact nature of the stylist’s surgery.
Reports suggest she was due to undergo liposuction following the birth of the couple’s second son, Naveid Ely Raymond, in December (08).

A tower of light, built in JOHN LENNON’s memory, has been illuminated in Iceland - to mark his widow YOKO ONO’s 76th birthday.
Ono unveiled the Imagine Peace Tower in 2007. It beams a bright light high into the sky from Lennon’s birthday on 9 October through to the 8 December anniversary of his murder in 1980.
The powerful torch - fuelled by Iceland’s geothermic energy supply - has been lit eight months early in 2009 to celebrate Ono’s birthday on Wednesday (18Feb09). It will shine from sunset to dawn.
The artist/musician revealed the tribute on her Twitter blog, telling fans, "Thank you for all your beautiful birthday messages. IMAGINE PEACE TOWER is alight."

U.S. comedy star TRACY MORGAN has thanked the New York Fire Department for saving his apartment after a blaze broke out on Wednesday (18Feb09).
The fire started when a lamp blew on a fishtank in the 30 Rock star’s home on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
But Morgan reveals firefighters were on the scene so quickly, they even saved his beloved pet fishes.
He says, "The sprinklers promptly activated and the NYFD came by to make sure it was contained… Fortunately, the fire did not spread and no one in the building was injured - even the fish are OK.
"My thanks to the New York Fire Department for their quick action."

STUART WEITZMAN’s Million Dollar Shoes won’t be walking the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday (22Feb09) - thanks to the global economic crisis.
The in-demand designer personally sizes and creates a special jewelled shoe for one lucky up-and-coming leading lady to wear to the Academy Awards annually.
But, Weitzman has decided the time isn’t right to put such an over-the-top piece of footwear on the red carpet this year.
He tells WENN, "We very seriously took into account the current economic situation and what is considered appropriate in the world of fashion today, and we felt this was not a year to be extravagant." Weitzman will be well represented at the Oscars, however - his Red Carpet Collection of shoes will grace the red carpet on Sunday. A number of top stars will be wearing his designs at the Academy Awards.
The lucky ladies who have worn Weitzman’s Million Dollar Shoe to past Oscars have included Ray star Regina King, Dreamgirls actress Anika Noni Rose and Mulholland Drive’s Laura Harring.

Moviemaker TYLER PERRY can’t believe Hollywood is making such a fuss about his decision to cast KESHIA KNIGHT PULLIAM as a prostitute in his new movie - because it’s been over two decades since the actress played BILL COSBY’s cute kid on THE COSBY SHOW.
Perry cast Pulliam as his hooker in Madea Goes To Jail because he thought it would be a good idea to toy with her image as TV’s sweetheart, and he cannot believe critics and gossips are making such a big deal of the idea.
He says, "If you look at that woman and you see Rudy Huxtable, you’re a pervert.
"She is a woman and she needed an opportunity to break away from Rudy because people won’t give her a break, because they think, ‘Rudy, Rudy, Rudy’.
"So I’m like, ‘How far can I take you away from Rudy? Hooker - let’s do it.’" But Perry fears he may have upset Pulliam’s former TV dad, Bill Cosby, over the casting.
He adds, "I’m waiting for that phone call."

Comedian ELLEN DEGENERES and partner PORTIA DE ROSSI will undergo fertility treatment to start their own family, according to U.S. tabloid reports.
The TV personality wed actress de Rossi last year (Aug08) and the couple is allegedly keen to settle down and have kids.
DeGeneres recently revealed they were looking to step away from the spotlight and live the quiet life on a farm, once her U.S. talk show contract ends in 2010.
De Rossi is also keen on kids, revealing in a 2007 interview, "There are times when I think I’d be really selfish not to adopt a child. It’d be great to spend our lives with somebody, a little child that really needs a home." However, Star magazine claims the couple is planning to have a biological child - and de Rossi will soon begin in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment.
A source tells the publication, "They would love a boy. But would truly be happy with any healthy baby.
"(de Rossi) is prepared to go through it (IVF) 10 times if she has to. Whatever it takes to get pregnant, she’ll do it. She’s been changing her eating habits. Her goal is to gain a few pounds before they start the IVF process.
"Ellen and Portia are mad about each other. And having a child together will only strengthen their bond."

Property tycoon-turned-reality TV show king DONALD TRUMP is a grandfather again - the businessman’s eldest son, Donald Jr., and his wife Vanessa have just welcomed their second child into the world.
The couple’s first child, Kai Madison, was born in May 2007.

Fallen rap mogul MARION ‘SUGE’ KNIGHT has been fined and sentenced to community service and violence counselling, after pleading guilty to beating his girlfriend.
Just two days after the former Death Row boss was attacked himself in a hotel brawl, Knight appeared in court in Las Vegas on Wednesday (18Feb09), to complete a plea deal that keeps him out of jail.
Knight pleaded guilty to misdemeanour domestic battery and authorities agreed to drop two felony drug possession charges and one felony coercion charge.
According to local reports, the felony charges were dropped because Knight’s girlfriend Melissa Isaac disappeared after he was arrested for assaulting her in August last year (08).
He has been ordered to pay a $340 (GBP235) fine; serve 48 hours community service and complete a domestic violence course.

TAYLOR SWIFT’s love story with the top of the U.S. album charts is still going strong after the country star held off a challenge from ROBERT PLANT and ALISON KRAUSS to return to number one.
A Valentine’s Day sales boost gave Swift’s Fearless release a ninth non-consecutive week at the top of the Billboard charts.
Only Santana’s album Supernatural has spent more time at the top of the in the past decade.
Fearless sold 92,000 copies to squeak past Plant and Krauss’ Grammy Award-winning Raising Sand, which shot up from 69 to two on the new countdown.
That album had fallen out of the top 200 until the duo claimed five golds at the Grammys on 8 February (09). It debuted at number two on the U.S. charts in late 2007, and has gone one to sell over 1.2 million copies.
Coldplay also got a boost from their wins and performance at the Grammys - the British group’s Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends jumps back up the charts from 31 to eight.

Beloved hitmaker TOMMY JAMES has been given a huge career boost - MARTIN SCORSESE wants to make his life story into a film.
The Crimson & Clover singer has been working on his memoirs for the past decade, but calls from publishing house Simon & Schuster and Scorsese has prompted him to complete the tome, Me, The Mob And Music.
The crooner, who hit the top of the charts with backing band the Shondells, says, "We got the book deal in 2008 and within just a few weeks of that we were toying with doing a movie, and then, all of a sudden, we get a call from Martin Scorsese’s office. Then I had to finish the book in six weeks.
"I was incredibly honoured that he was interested in making the book into a movie. It just fell out of heaven. He’s the only one who could do it justice because it’s a combination of rock ‘n’ roll and wiseguys.
"He happened to be a fan and he’ll be directing the film through Triangle Pictures. This is a dream come true and I’m flabbergasted. It’s just in the beginning stages and I have no idea who’s gonna play me. I’m too close to it. I would like to make a cameo appearance - like the janitor at (record label) Roulette Records, maybe the elevator operator.
"The reason it’s all such a compelling story is what Roulette Records was. I was there for the bulk of my career and Roulette Records was a front for the Genovese crime family. We didn’t know that when we signed in 1966. Here we were making these pop records and there is this really hairy story going on behind it." And James admits he had to wait before putting his life story on paper: "I hadn’t really felt right talking about it until the last of the Roulette regulars passed away; that happened in December 2005. The heads of the family basically used Roulette as a social club. All this was going on while we were making music and rubbing shoulders with some pretty scary people."

Nineties rap star MC HAMMER has landed his own reality TV show.
Bosses at U.S. TV network A&E have given the producers of new show Hammertime the green light to make a slate of episodes about the colourful U Can’t Touch This hitmaker, real name Stanley Burrell.
The series, which will feature MC Hammer’s wife of more than 23 years and the couple’s seven kids, is currently in production in his native Oakland, California and slated for premiere in 2009.
Three-time Grammy Award winner Hammer, who is also an executive producer of the project, says, "Each week we�ll open our home to viewers to showcase the hectic pace of our lives and our eclectic family. Our real life truly is drama." Hammertime will feature 11 half-hour episodes.

Singer KATY PERRY was forced to leave Wednesday (18Feb09) night’s Brit Awards early after vomiting backstage.
The star collected her prize for Best International Female Solo Artist, which was handed to her by music legend Lionel Ritchie.
And Perry explained her illness to the audience: "I’m so sick right now, but they said I should show up because something special might happen. Thank you to everyone at my record label. (I proved) I work pretty hard because I want to die right now." But the 24-year-old vomited as soon as she came off-stage and had to bow out of the event early.
Perry confirmed the news in a text message to celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, who wrote on his Twitter web page, "Just got a text from Katy. She had to leave the Brits after she won. She’s so sick that she puked backstage! ‘Punk rock,’ she says."

Late actor HEATH LEDGER’s three-year-old daughter MATILDA will become the proud owner of her dad’s Oscar statuette on Sunday (22Feb09), if he wins a posthumous award.
Ledger is nominated for his supporting role as the Joker in Batman movie The Dark Knight - and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided little Matilda will be handed the accolade should the actor triumph at the weekend.
Should he win, the Academy will hold the statuette until Matilda’s 18th birthday - when she will then be able to sign the contract required of all winners. The document bars award recipients from reselling the statuette without first offering it back to the Academy for $1 (GBP0.70).
Matilda’s mother and Ledger’s ex-fiancee, actress Michelle Williams, would serve as the legal custodian of the Oscar for the next 15 years.
Executive director of the Academy, Bruce Davis, says, "It’s complicated, because there are two different questions that have to be answered. First, we have to decide who gets the job of accepting the award onstage on the night of the ceremony. And then there’s the question of the eventual disposition of the posthumous statuette, which may not stay with the person who accepts it.
"At that point, she may execute what we call an heir’s agreement and keep the statuette forever - or, if she chooses not to do that, it will return to us." Ledger died on 22 January 2008 from an accidental prescription drug overdose at his New York home, aged 28.
He was honoured with the Best Supporting Actor trophy at the Golden Globes on 11 January (09) and won the same prize at the BAFTA awards earlier this month (08Feb09).
The Academy has not revealed who will accept the award on Ledger’s behalf on Sunday night.

JENNIFER ANISTON has snagged a date to accompany her to the 2009 Academy Awards - her boyfriend JOHN MAYER will escort her down the red carpet.
The former Friends star, rumoured to be presenting a prize at the Oscars, will walk arm-in-arm with the rocker at Sunday’s (22Feb09) prestigious event, where Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie are both nominated for statuettes.
Mayer tells gossip blog Pop Sugar, "I’m going to the Oscars… Itâ��s my first Oscars. And itâ��s my first being an Oscar boyfriend." But as soon as the night comes to an end, the Daughters hitmaker will head straight back to work.
He adds: "After that night I have a deal almost signed in blood that says I must go into the studio and finish this record. So after Oscar Sunday, Monday morning I�m invisible."
