Studio bosses have denied forcing GUY RITCHIE to re-shoot five weeks worth of filming on his forthcoming SHERLOCK HOLMES movie.
The British director was reportedly left fuming after being ordered to scrap weeks worth of footage on his super sleuth film, which stars Robert Downey Jr. as the iconic detective.
British tabloid The Sun reported executives at Warner Bros. - the studio in charge of the film’s production - had heavily criticised the moviemaker’s first takes.
But representatives for Warner Bros are vehemently denying the reports - insisting they are "very pleased" with the work completed on the film so far.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the studio writes, "It is not true that Warner Bros. has asked for any reshoots on Sherlock Holmes. The inserts and pickup shots being completed next week, which have long been part of the schedule, do not involve any cast, and are a standard part of filmmaking." "It is still early in the production process, and the studio has not yet seen the movie. Both Warner Bros. and Guy Ritchie are very pleased with the footage they have seen thus far."

DOLLY PARTON is eager to take to the web and start communicating with fans via social networking sites - despite admitting she doesn’t have a clue about modern technology.
The country legend is trying to get to grips with the internet, and has started blogging on her official Facebook and MySpace pages.
But Parton is the first to confess she finds today’s technology hard to fathom - because she grew up in much simpler times.
She says, "I feel like I came from the dark ages into the light ages. When I first started out, we didn’t even have electricity "I was singing on TV before we even owned one. Now here I am in this high tech world. I don’t even know half of what the stuff means. But I’m on it."

The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS are considering doubling their year-long hiatus to allow bassist FLEA to complete his music studies.
Drummer Chad Smith revealed all about the group’s break plans on website MusicRadar.com last year (08) and now he’s using the same site to announce the hiatus may be extended for another year.
He says, "I think, when we’re all ready to play again, when we feel like it’s time to be the Chili Peppers again, we’ll do it.
"You can’t force anybody to play who doesn’t want to. I’m not naming names. I’m just saying we all have to feel that the time is right to get it together.
"A year off might have been optimistic. Maybe it’ll be two years, maybe more, who knows…? We’ll only get back together for the right reason - to play music with one another." And while Flea continues his studies at the University of California, his bandmates are far from idle - Smith will debut his new supergroup Chickenfoot with ex-Van Halen stars Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony and guitar great Joe Satriani this spring (09) and guitarist John Frusciante is promoting his new solo album,The Empyrean, which features guest appearances from Flea and Johnny Marr.

Folk legends SIMON AND GARFUNKEL are set to tour for the first time in five years - after they were blown away by the rapturous reception they received at a surprise reunion gig on Friday (13Feb09).
Paul Simon thrilled fans at the New York’s Beacon Theatre after he introduced Art Garfunkel to the stage for a gig to mark the re-opening of the venue following a seven-month renovation.
And their three-song set went down a storm with the crowd - prompting the pair to put plans together for a possible U.S. tour.
Simon tells the BBC, "Our plan to work together is coming together but it doesn’t go through England this time." The duo last toured in 2004, their first American trek in 20 years.

R&B star SOLANGE KNOWLES was stunned when she finally came round after fainting on a recent flight out of New York - because she didn’t realise she had been posting details of her muddled mental state online.
Beyonce’s younger sister was treated by doctors after taking flu tablets onboard a plane on Tuesday (17Feb09).
The singer became disorientated after suffering an adverse reaction to the medication - and woke up with medics around her in the baggage claim area of an airport.
And despite continually posting bizarre details of her ordeal on her Twitter page - Knowles insists she has no recollection of making the confused comments.
Taking to her Twitter page again, Knowles writes, "ok. so im just waking up. i feel fine. then someone tells me its all online i OD on Nyquil. yikes. no." But despite the embarrassment, the star insists she’s fine and her reaction was down to dehydration.
She adds, "I went to the hospital, they gave me an Iv of fluids and told me to rest and drink fluids. Thanks everyone who has been concerned.
"When i landed and woke up, i felt weird…i thought from the Nyquil maybe but turns out I was really dehydrated so thats what caused me to faint." But Knowles insists she will try and refrain from revealing so much personal information in future: "twitter is starting to get me into trouble now…. sheezzzzzuuzzz. im on a twitter diet."

CHARLIE SHEEN jumped on baby alert when his wife BROOKE was admitted to hospital on Tuesday (17Feb09) with premature contractions.
The TV presenter, who is expecting twins, raced to a Los Angeles-area hospital, where she was relaxed and released on Wednesday (18Feb09).
Sheen’s publicist Stan Rosenfield says, "Brooke was admitted… with premature contractions, which is not all that uncommon for someone at this stage of pregnancy, especially with twins. She’s fine." The 31-year-old is due to deliver twin boys in April (09).

LILY ALLEN is keen to expose her healthy new body - if the right offer comes along.
The British singer admits she’d bare all for a magazine or movie - if it wasn’t just an exploitative spread.
She tells U.S. news show Extra, "I’m just very comfortable in my body. I wouldn’t do it in a ‘Hey, look at my boobs’ kind of way." And Allen admits her healthy new outlook has given her the confidence to peel off for the cameras.
She adds, "I was eating a lot of unhealthy food because it’s difficult to source fresh food when you’re on the road. When I came off the road and was living at home, I was making myself dinner and I’ve never been healthier."

The singer/actress states, "I think because of the age difference, it’s going to work out for them, because she seems really happy and he brings a youthful energy. He’s a good person to be around." MATT DAMON’s model stepsister has become one of the hits of New York Fashion Week.
Sarah Bradford made her runway debut at the Alvin Valley show on 12 February (09) and now admits she hopes to use her model good luck and her Oscar-winning sibling to land a movie role.
She tells Life & Style magazine, "My mom married his father. There’s a total of five siblings, and we all grew up in Boston.

ROCKY MARCIANO’s younger brother will act as a consultant on the first authorised biopic of the boxer’s life.
Lou Marciano is working with scriptwriter Terri Apple on hard-hitting new movie Undefeated: The Rocky Marciano Story, which is to be directed by two-time Oscar nominee Mikael Salomon.
The younger Marciano is promising to reveal new details about his brother’s life for the movie, which will chronicle the legendary fighter’s life from childhood to his plane crash death in 1969.

A chimpanzee who went on the rampage in Stamford, Connecticut and grievously wounded his owner’s friend once appeared alongside actress MORGAN FAIRCHILD in a TV ad for U.S. clothing firm Old Navy.
The ape’s owner, Sandra Herold, stabbed the chimp, called Travis, and beat him with a shovel in a bid to stop him ripping a visiting pal’s face off before cops were forced to shoot the primate dead.
But Fairchild insists Travis was nothing but a sweetheart when they worked together.
She says, "I have a great still photograph of us - he’s sitting there with his arm round me." And she’s upset the ape is dead: "It is a sin that this animal had to be destroyed."

Actor HAYDEN CHRISTENSEN reportedly made RACHEL BILSON’s Christmas holidays extra special by asking the actress to marry him.
The couple, who met on the set of movie Jumper in 2006, became engaged in December (08), while staying at Christensen’s family home in Vancouver, Canada, according to reports.
A source tells America’s Star magazine, "He gave her a diamond ring, and she accepted without hesitation. Everyone’s so excited. Hayden’s family adores Rachel - his sisters even helped him pick out the ring." The insider alleges their nuptials are likely to take place in Canada because Los Angeles-born Bilson "loves it there", adding, "She’s a down-to-earth girl - and she’s brought out the best in Hayden." A wedding date has yet to be set.
Bilson’s representative has refused to confirm or deny the reports, stating, "I don’t comment on my clients’ personal lives."

Police have recovered cycling champion LANCE ARMSTRONG’s one-of-kind racing bike after it was stolen from outside his California hotel at the weekend (14Feb08).
The athlete ex of rocker Sheryl Crow appealed to fans to help him get the bike back on social networking website Twitter on Sunday (15Feb09), offering an reward for the safe return of his prized custom-painted Trek time-trial bicycle.
The special bike was one of four taken from a truck parked outside a hotel in Sacramento, California.
Armstrong was in the state competing in the Amgen Tour of California with Team Astana, and had ridden his black and yellow bike just hours before it was taken.
However, the treasured Trek bike was handed in at a police station in the city on Wednesday (18Feb09) - much to to the joy of the seven-time Tour De France winner.
On his Twitter page, Armstrong writes, "They recovered the bike! Don’t have details yet but it’s apparently on it’s way here. Thanks to the Sacramento P D for the help!" Sacramento cops insist their theft investigation will continue.

The Grammy Awards’ big loser JAZMINE SULLIVAN is celebrating after landing her first big acting job in new film RED TAILS.
The singer, who went home empty handed from the prizegiving after landing five Grammy nominations, will play a forces sweetheart in the period film about the Tuskegee Airmen - America’s first black military pilots.
She says, "I play a singer who entertains soldiers. I’m really just entertainment for them, but I kind of get a little relationship going with one of them. So that’s very exciting." Sullivan flies out to Prague, Czech Republic in April (09) to shoot her scenes in the film, which was co-created by Star Wars guru George Lucas.

The 9 to 5 singer appeared in several episodes of the popular Disney show, playing the aunt of teen sensation Miley Cyrus - her real life goddaughter.
And Parton expected a walk-on part in the show’s big screen spin-off, which hits cinemas in May (09).
She was shocked to find she hadn’t made the cut.

Rapper FLO RIDA has shattered his own digital download best and the U.S. first-week record after landing 636,000 sales in a week.
Just a week after Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre recapped the download record with their Crack A Bottle, Flo Rida added more than 200,000 sales to the top mark, as his Right Round shifted an incredible 636,000 units.
The total smashes the mark he set with Low (467,000) in January 2008, which took into account sales from that season’s post-Christmas week - as well as Eminem and company’s opening-week download record (418,000).
The new hit, which will claim the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on Thursday (19Feb09), features heavy sampling from Dead Or Alive’s 1985 song You Spin Me Round (Like a Record).
It’ll be Flo Rida’s second number one.
