British pop star LILY ALLEN has launched a scathing attack on the New York Times - after executives allegedly sold exclusive photos of her home without permission.
The Smile hitmaker recently agreed to an interview and photoshoot with the publication, but was devastated when the paper’s shots, taken in her London residence, turned up in British magazine OK.
And Allen has accused newspaper bosses at the New York Times of taking advantage of her decision to let their photographer into her private rooms - and selling the pictures on for a profit, cutting her out of the loop.
She writes on her MySpace.com blog, "It is unusual for me to allow photographers into my home, but these seemed like special circumstances and after all TNYT is one of the most respected news publications in the world.
"I was mortified (when I saw the pictures in OK), in fact I was in tears, six photos of inside my home for everyone to see, and a made up interview that was very misleading. All this because I�d let the NYT photographer into my home. I was furious and got on the phone immediately.
"I got an apology from OK, but the NYT refuse to accept what they have done is morally wrong. Everybody assures me this is completely unheard of for the NYT to act in such a cheap and disgusting way." Allen also published an email response from bosses at the New York Times, in which they claim there was no contract in place to prevent them syndicating the pictures.
But the star criticised the publication’s reply, adding: "So patronising, and gross. I think the NYT have behaved really badly. Itâ��s one thing posing for a picture from TNYT and wholly another letting OK into your house, and I didnâ��t even get paid."

BRITNEY SPEARS’ ex-boyfriend ADNAN GHALIB has ignored a restraining order against him and has been exchanging text messages with the star, according to the singer’s former manager SAM LUTFI.
Spears’ father Jamie won a restraining order against both Ghalib and Lutfi last February (08) after he took charge of his daughter’s affairs, and the ruling was recently extended to 18 March (09).
Lutfi has been accused of desperately trying to get in touch with his former charge in recent months, and Spears’ stylist recently testified against him, claiming the former svengali spent three weeks over Christmas (08) attempting to gather information about the star.
Hairstylist Roberta Romero told a Los Angeles court on Wednesday (25Feb09) Lutfi had sent her a series of text messages, asking her to relay messages to Spears.
But Lutfi has denied the allegations, insisting he had no direct contact with the singer - unlike paparazzo Ghalib, reports TMZ.com.
In his court declaration, Lutfi alleges, "I did not initiate any direct communication with Britney Spears. Although I did receive text messages from her. All responses to those messages were conveyed to Britney through others, including… Adnan Ghalib." This week’s (beg23Feb09) hearing was held to determine whether Jamie Spears’ restraining order against Lutfi and Ghalib should continue.
The case will continue on 1 April (09).
Meanwhile, California private investigator Cookie Schwartz has confirmed she is working on a case against Lutfi.
Schwartz tells Life & Style magazine she and her Tri-Valley Investigations colleagues are trying to get a profile of Spears’ former manager, who has been ordered to stay at least 250 yards from Britney under the terms of the restraining order against him.

Hollywood actress NICOLE KIDMAN has dismissed rumours she’s expecting another baby with singer husband KEITH URBAN - less than eight months after giving birth to their first child.
The star sparked baby speculation after she was photographed posing with her arms covering her stomach at red carpet events this week (ends27Feb09).
One online report claimed Kidman "tenderly stroked her stomach as she posed for snaps with co-star Hugh Jackman" during a Japanese tour to promote their epic movie Australia.
But representatives for both Kidman and Urban have denied the actress is pregnant with a brother or sister for the couple’s daughter Sunday Rose, telling Access Hollywood there’s "no truth" to the claims.

Comedian EDDIE MURPHY has landed his dream role - portraying late, great funnyman RICHARD PRYOR in a new biopic.
The Beverly Hills Cop actor has reportedly signed up to star in Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? - a project being put together by Dreamgirls director and 2009 Oscars producer Bill Condon.
And Murphy, whose early stand-up routines included impersonations of the comedic icon, is allegedly so keen to play his hero he has waived his usual multi-million dollar fee.
Pryor’s career highs and lows, including his well-publicised battles with alcohol and drug addiction and his struggle with multiple sclerosis, will feature heavily in the project. The comedian, 65, died after suffering a heart attack in 2005.
He starred in and directed 1986’s Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling - a story loosely based on his own life. But Condon’s film - with a relatively small budget of $25 million (£17.7 million) - will be the first Pryor biopic to make it to the big screen.

BEYONCE KNOWLES is constantly annoying her rapper husband JAY-Z because she creates such a mess in their New York home.
The superstar couple resides in Jay-Z’s luxury Manhattan apartment, but the Crazy In Love beauty admits her relaxed attitude to her home life means she’s always leaving her belongings all over the place.
She tells the April (09) issue of Ebony magazine, "Iâ��m a little messy… Whenever Iâ��m out in public, I have to be put together.
"When I get home, I rebel against it and I don�t want to take care of anything. I drop it. I�m relaxed. I don�t have any shoes on. No make-up. My purse is in the kitchen.
"I think that is the most difficult thing for him (Jay-Z). He�s very, very organised. I�m extremely organised when I�m working, and I work so much that when I get home I don�t want to think about anything."

U2 rocker BONO fears his teenage children find him embarrassing, after he overheard his eldest daughter call him "boring" during a dinner with superstar couple BEYONCE and JAY-Z.
The 48-year-old singer, who has two daughters - Jordan, 19, and Memphis, 17 - with wife Alison Hewson, admits he suffers the same fate as most parents.
And the teens’ opinions became clear when he overheard Jordan talking about her dad while the family were entertaining celebrity guests at their holiday home in the south of France.
He says, "I went in to get some wine out of the fridge and I heard her talking to her friends, because she loves Jay-Z and Beyonce.
"I heard her saying, ‘He’s probably boring their a***s off talking about Africa ‘. And, actually, I think I was at the time." And Bono concedes it’s not the first time his antics have annoyed the youngsters, adding, "There was a funny moment on the last tour when there were formal objections by our kids to some of the music that was being played at the aftershow party."

Rap mogul RUSSELL SIMMONS has dismissed reports suggesting he’s unhappy with cash he has been "ordered" to pay his ex-wife in child support, insisting he "very happily" volunteered the amount.
The Def Jam co-founder’s divorce from Kimora Lee Simmons was finalised in January (09) after 10 years of marriage, which produced two daughters.
Lee Simmons was granted sole custody of daughters Ming, nine, and Aoki, six, and, at a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court this week (ends27Feb09), a judge also signed off on the child support payments.
But multi-millionaire Def Jam Records co-founder Simmons is upset by reports suggesting he was ordered to hand over $40,000 (£28,000) in child support payments.
In a post on his online blog on Friday (27Feb09), Simmons writes, "I am reading these stories about how a judge ordered me to pay Kimora $40,000 a month in child support and I want to make something very clear. Nothing was ordered, it was given.
"My kids have a fabulous life; they are exposed to a broad range of artistic and scholastic educational programs and I’m very happy to contribute to that. As long as I have it, they can have it. If I ever don’t have it, I’m coming to live with them!" Simmons has been granted visitation rights and will reportedly pay $20,000 (£14,000)-a-month for each of his daughters until the girls turn 19.

Irish rockers U2 have vowed to lower ticket prices to their shows - to allow cash-strapped fans to enjoy their music during the global economic crisis.
The band are currently promoting their new album No Line On The Horizon and are planning to launch a major world tour this summer (09).
And frontman Bono admits they hope to split the prices of their tickets, giving their poorest fans a less expensive option, while more wealthy music lovers can splash their cash on the more pricey seats.
He says, "We’re trying to work on some cheaper ticket prices because this is the recession. We’re also going to have some very expensive ticket prices because rich people have feelings too! "We’ve got something very special planned, something we’ve been working on for many years, a whole way of trying to do shows outdoors and make them very intimate."

JENNIFER HUDSON is bouncing back from the tragedy of her family’s triple murder last year (08), thanks to live performance "therapy".
Hudson’s mother Darnell Donerson and brother Jason Hudson, 29, were shot dead last October (08) in Donerson’s Chicago, Illinois home. The body of the Oscar winner’s seven-year-old nephew, Julian, was found in a car elsewhere in the city three days later.
The Grammy and Oscar winner returned to the limelight with a rousing performance at American football’s Super Bowl event on 1 February (09) and announced a string of tour dates soon afterwards.
And Hudson admits she is working through her troubles with the help of her live shows, which have proved to be cathartic for her.
She tells talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, "I’m good, I’m really good, I’m just glad to be back and working, doing what I love to do. It’s like therapy. I’m in a very good place." William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister Julia, has pleaded not guilty to charges of first degree murder and home invasion.

Actor/director TYLER PERRY is gearing up for his best birthday ever - he plans to celebrate turning 40 by buying his own private island.
The star of Tyler Perry’s Madea Goes to Jail hits the landmark age on 14 September (09), and he will be treating himself to the ultimate present after realising how peaceful and productive living on a deserted island can be.
Perry, who recently enjoyed a holiday on a private island in the Bahamas’ Great Exumas, says, "I’m a loner by nature, so when I’m out there on these islands, I just feel like the only person in the world." But he is refusing to name any potential land purchases after himself, unlike his screenwork: "It won’t be Tyler Perry’s Island! I’m so sick of seeing Tyler Perry all over everywhere! I’ll know what to call it once I’m there. It’ll speak to me." And he will have one key rule in place: "There will be no paparazzi on my island!"

Actor DAVID ARQUETTE has been left with a temporarily paralysed eyebrow after undergoing surgery to remove a benign tumour.
The Scream star was recently forced to deny rumours he had had cosmetic surgery after he was spotted sporting a black eye.
At the time, he declined to comment further on the operation - but now Arquette reveals doctors had to remove an osteoma, a bone tumour.
The treatment has left Arquette unable to move his right eyebrow.
Going public with his health crisis for the first time, the actor told U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, "I had an osteoma, I think it’s called, so they took it out. I can’t move my eyebrow yet.
"Its getting better, much better, but most of my friends are like, ‘You used to move your eyebrows too much anyway.’ No more James Dean cool guy stuff."

CLARENCE SWENSEN, one of the last remaining WIZARD OF OZ Munchkins, has died at the age of 91.
The actor, who died on Wednesday (25Feb09), had been in poor health since suffering a a stroke in 2005.
He was one of nine surviving members of the 125 Munchkins from the 1939 movie classic.
Swensen and his co-stars were feted at a ceremony in November 2007, when a Munchkins star was installed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
He grew up in Austin, Texas, where he was not allowed to attend public schools until he was nine - because of his size - and became a movie star, contracted to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, in the late 1930s after he was discovered as part of The Stanley R. Graham All Midget Circus.
Flowers were placed on the Munchkins’ Walk of Fame star on Friday (27Feb09) to mark Swensen’s death.

Beloved U.S. TV personality ED MCMAHON’s health issues are much worse than he’s admitted to the public - he’s in hospital battling both bone cancer and pneumonia.
The former The Tonight Show sidekick, 85, is in a "serious" condition in an intensive care unit after he was admitted to an undisclosed facility almost four weeks ago.
His representative Howard Bragman confirmed on Friday (27Feb09) that McMahon is being treated for pneumonia in hospital, but it has now emerged that he has also been fighting systemic bone cancer.
A source tells U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight that McMahon’s wife, Pam, has been holding a bedside vigil, and her "deep faith is helping her through this difficult time".

British pop star LILY ALLEN has thrown her future music career into doubt - by refusing to confirm plans for a third album.
The Smile hitmaker insists she doesn’t know if she will ever record a follow-up to this year’s (09) It’s Not Me, It’s You - because she is not sure whether her future lies in the music industry.
And the singer admits she might want to concentrate on settling down and starting a family instead.
She tells MTV, "I couldn’t tell you if I’m going to make another record, because I don’t know if I’m going to enjoy this in six months’ time. I’m a ‘live the day’ person. I have no idea what I’m doing tomorrow. I certainly don’t think about a week from now or a month from now.
"As far as the future goes, there’s only a vague plan of getting married and having kid. I am not actively hunting for a husband. Much." Allen recently split from art dealer Jay Jopling. She previously dated Chemical Brothers DJ Ed Simons and fell pregnant with his baby in late 2007, but suffered a miscarriage in January 2008.

Oscar winner KATE WINSLET has brushed off criticism of her recent Academy Award acceptance speech after failing to pay tribute to movie producer HARVEY WEINSTEIN.
The British beauty, who was previously nominated five times, finally won the Best Actress honour at the prestigious Hollywood ceremony last Sunday (22Feb09), claiming gold for her role in The Reader.
But Winslet has been singled out for forgetting to thank Weinstein, who pushed to have the drama, about an illiterate Nazi prison guard, released in time for consideration at the Oscars.
He clashed with producer pal Scott Rudin over the film’s December (08) release date - because Winslet’s other Rudin production, Revolutionary Road, was also set to hit cinemas at around the same time.
Weinstein won the battle and Rudin subsequently withdrew his name from the movie’s credits.
And Winslet has come under fire for failing to acknowledge Weinstein’s efforts to get the film released early - but her publicist insists it was simply a mistake.
The actress’ representative, Heidi Slan, tells the Los Angeles Times’ GoldDerby.com website, "I am sure this was an oversight considering she thanked him at SAG and BAFTA." Winslet received critical acclaim at the Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAGs) and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTAs) earlier this year (09), taking home the Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress prizes at the respective events for The Reader.

JIM CARREY and JAKE GYLLENHAAL will star in their first movie musical in a big screen adaptation of Broadway’s DAMN YANKEES.
The show tells the story of baseball fanatic Joe Boyd, a man who sells his soul to the devil to save the team.
The production won seven Tony Awards during its time on the New York theatre circuit and took its final Broadway bow in 1955.
Carrey will play the devil while Gyllenhaal plays Boyd, reports Daily Variety.
New Line Cinema bosses have signed Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, the duo behind hit movie musical Hairspray, to produce the project.

LINDSAY LOHAN and her girlfriend SAMANTHA RONSON have fuelled rumours they are set to wed - by visiting a London synagogue famous for its liberal views on marriage.
The Mean Girls star, who was raised a Catholic, and Ronson, who is from a Jewish family, have been dating since 2008.
They were rumoured to have become engaged last year (08), after Ronson reportedly told a crowd in a Los Angeles nightclub about their wedding plans.

Faith officials at the religious building is known for providing marriage blessings to couples of mixed faiths, providing the couple has already enjoyed a civil wedding ceremony.
Although the synagogue’s stance on same-sex unions is not known, gay marriages have been legal in the U.K. since the introduction of civil partnerships in 2004.

OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER has slammed the current music charts - insisting some of today’s most popular artists are too "painful" to watch.
The guitarist recently spent time watching Europe’s top 10 music videos and claims he found the experience so nauseating, he won’t be tuning in to the show again.
He writes on his official internet blog, "Spent the day in bed yesterday nursing a bad head. For some reason I watched MTV�s European Top Ten. It was painful. Leona Lewis doing Snow Patrol. Ouch! Kings Of Leon doing U2. Ouch! The Killers doing fancy dress. Ouch!� And Gallagher goes on to name his least new favourite act of 2009 - dance sensation Lady Gaga.
He adds, "Lady Gaga (I may be showing my age here but who�s Lady GaGa?). It made my teeth hurt.�
