FIELDER-CIVIL TO MOVE ABROAD TO ESCAPE WINEHOUSE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:42 pm

AMY WINEHOUSE’s estranged husband BLAKE FIELDER-CIVIL is reportedly planning to leave Britain in a bid to put his troubled marriage behind him.
The Rehab hitmaker has been enjoying an extended break in the Caribbean since December (08), while Fielder-Civil has been serving time in jail for breaking the terms of his probation.
He was released on Wednesday (25Feb09) and Winehouse is rumoured to be planning to return to London in an attempt to salvage their relationship - despite Fielder-Civil filing for divorce from the star in January (09).
The 26-year-old former drug user is now claiming he is clean and is said to be refusing to see his wife, amid concerns she will be a bad influence as he battles his addictions.
A pal of Fielder-Civil tells British tabloid The Sun he is planning to flee his native U.K.
The source says, "He’s turned a corner since he last saw Amy. His mum Georgette plans to sell up and get Blake to another country. They don’t want to squander all the hard work." Fielder-Civil was originally sentenced to 27 months behind bars last July (08) after he was found guilty of grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
He was granted an early release deal in November (08) - on the condition he underwent regular drug testing - but was sent back to jail in December (08) after failing to stay clean.

PENN HOPES MILK WILL CHANGE THE LAW

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:42 pm

Actor SEAN PENN hopes his Oscar-winning performance in MILK will help change laws banning same-sex marriages in America.
The star won an Academy Award for his portrayal of gay politician Harvey Milk in the critically acclaimed movie.
And now he is urging U.S. president Barack Obama to view the film in a bid to reverse the law and make same-sex unions legally recognised across the country.
Penn says, "Eventually we are hoping for a White House screening. I think this film will be one of the steps forward (in the fight for gay marriage). It will be part of the dialogue. But I think things are going to go forward with or without it.
"I was once asked to tell the difference between luxury and necessity for a human being. The right to equality for all, including homosexuals, is of course a necessity. That’s why this right will become a reality and I think in its own way this film will be part of that.
"The need for tolerance, equality and so on is on the move, and will go on." Homosexual couples in California were granted the right to wed last year (08) but it was revoked just months later after the passing of the Proposition 8 bill, which reversed the previous ruling permitting the unions.
On 5 March (09) a Californian court will hear arguments in lawsuits seeking to annul the referendum, with lawmakers due to hand down a ruling within 90 days.

MINNELLI: ‘IT’S TOUGH TO BE MARRIED TO ME’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

LIZA MINNELLI insists she has no regrets about marrying promoter DAVID GEST - even though the union was "a circus event".
The singer/actress tells pal Liz Smith - the new contributing editor of America’s Parade magazine - she will never marry again, but she’d never take back any of her past marriages.
That includes her brief union with Gest, which ended in a messy divorce and claims she physically abused her ex.
Of her decision to wed Gest, Minnelli says, "Darling, I was recovering from brain encephalitis!" And the star admits married life with her is not easy: "I just don’t think it’s fair. It’s too hard on any man to be married to a woman like me… a famous woman, with all that goes with it.
"No matter how successful the man is, it’s hard for him to take. And maybe it’s politically incorrect to say, but I get it. I’m not going to refuse that autograph. I’m not going to deny that photographer. I certainly won’t stop touring. It’s too hard on any man.â€

BONO EMBARRASSED BY HIS OWN SONGS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

U2 frontman BONO feels embarrassed listening to his own music because he can always hear ways to improve it.
The Irish rocker admits he is a perfectionist and hates hearing the band’s classic hits because he believes the songs would be much better if he re-recorded them.
He says, "I wince because of either what I think is an unfinished lyric or a vocal moment I don’t like." The One hitmaker finds it most difficult to play the band’s 1987 hit Where The Streets Have No Name, claiming the lyrics he wrote were only meant to be a first draft but the producers thought they were perfect.
He recalls, "I thought they were fairly inane but in the studio (Brian) Eno and (Daniel) Lanois thought they were perfect. I told them they were only sketches and I could do much better. But Eno is all about capturing the moment so those words stayed. Now I have to sing them for the rest of my life and it’s our most successful live song."

KINGS OF LEON’S ‘KIDNAPPED’ MEMBERS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

Rockers KINGS OF LEON were so determined to keep the band in the family, they "kidnapped" their cousin and forced their younger brother to learn guitar.
The Sex On Fire hitmakers started their career as a two-piece, consisting of singer Caleb Followill and his brother Nathan.
The duo landed a record deal, but music bosses insisted they recruit more members before launching their career.
So the Followills decided to bring in their younger brother, Jared, and told him to learn how to play bass despite the youngster having never played guitar before.
The trio then added their cousin Matthew, persuading him to join them in Nashville, Tennessee from his hometown in the state of Mississippi and then "kidnapping" him for the band.
Nathan Followill explains, "When we signed the deal with RCA, it was just me and Caleb. The label told us they were going to put a band together, but we said, ‘We’re going to buy our little brother a bass, he’s a freshman in high school. Caleb will teach himself the guitar. Our cousin Matthew played guitar when he was 10 and I’ll play drums.’ The record label agreed.
"Jared had never picked up a bass, Caleb had never played the guitar and Matt had only taken two guitar lessons.
"We kidnapped our cousin from Mississippi, told his mom he was coming for the week and just never let him go home."

ZELLWEGER BATTLED THE COLD FOR NEW MOVIE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:27 pm

RENEE ZELLWEGER struggled to deal with the freezing conditions while filming her new movie - and even had to cut her hair short to deal with the icy weather.
The Hollywood actress filmed New In Town in Winnipeg, Canada, and was shocked to experience such severe weather in the region.
She says, "It was like working on the moon. Most people don’t even know what below 47 (Fahrenheit) feels like. You freeze to death in two minutes.
"It was so cold we launched an entire new vocabulary. Your face is so frozen that you’ll be filming and you don’t know that you’ve been tearing up until your eyelashes are frozen together. We called those ‘lashcicles’, then the guys had ‘beardcicles.’" And Zellweger admits that the freezing conditions forced her to radically change her hairstyle.
She adds, "You can’t do your hair three times a day with a Marcel (straightening) iron every day for three months without it looking like a big cotton candy puff. So I had to cut it."
