PORTISHEAD ASK FANS TO SHAPE THEIR FUTURE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:36 pm

British band PORTISHEAD are asking fans to help decide their future, after quitting their record deal with label giants Universal.
The group reunited in 2007 - after eight years in the music wilderness - to release their third album, titled Third.
Earlier this year (09), they wrapped up their deal with Universal imprint Island, but they are determined to keep making and releasing music, with a little help from their loyal fanbase.
Frontman Geoff Barrow says, "We are free. Well, free of a deal and free of commitment… for now! With the world being the way it is there are lots of options open, but if you lot have any bright ideas of how we should sell our music in the future let us know, why not!" They have just one rule - don’t suggest they hand out their songs for free. Barrow adds, "I don’t think that were into giving our music away for free to be honest - it f**kin’ takes ages to write and we have to heat our swimming pools!"
