YOKO ONO has urged BEATLES fans to recreate her and late husband JOHN LENNON’s "Bed-In for Peace" - 40 years after the famous stunt.
The couple stayed under the covers for days on end at hotels in Amsterdam, Holland, and Montreal, Canada in 1969 to promote their campaign for world harmony and the end of the Vietnam war.
And the Imagine hitmaker’s widow is asking fans to mark the 40th anniversary of the event by staging similar peaceful protests.
Writing on her website, Ono says, "This year, 2009, is the 40th anniversary of the Bed-In. If you�re planning a tribute Bed-In of your own this year, tell us about it in the comments below, and/or send pictures and stories."

GWYNETH PALTROW has no idea what part she will play in the upcoming IRON MAN sequel - because movie bosses are keeping all of the details under wraps.
Paltrow played Tony Stark’s faithful assistant and love interest Pepper Potts in the 2008 comic book blockbuster, opposite Robert Downey Jr.
And although Paltrow has been signed up to reprise her role in a planned sequel, studio executives are being so secretive, the actress doesn’t even know the proposed plot for the new movie.

Country star CARRIE UNDERWOOD is urging internet gossips to stop speculating about CHRIS BROWN’s alleged fight with his girlfriend RIHANNA and "lay off" the troubled couple.
The Kiss Kiss hitmaker was charged with making criminal threats on Sunday (08Feb09) after reportedly assaulting a woman, believed to be Rihanna, during a heated early morning argument.
The incident forced both Brown and Rihanna to cancel their appearances at the Grammy Awards that night, and the stars have yet to speak out about what happened.
But that hasn’t stopped the media from digging for scandal - and Underwood, who attended a pre-Grammys party on Saturday (07Feb09) with the couple, admits she is tiring of all the "ridiculous" rumours online.
Speaking to Usmagazine.com, she says, "They were fine at the Grammy party.
"I don’t think anybody actually knows what happened. You hear a new one (rumour) every five minutes, and some of them are getting ridiculous. I really hope everyone will lay off and just let everybody who’s involved figure out everything first."

Actresses HILARY DUFF, TORI SPELLING and PATRICIA ARQUETTE hit the runway on Friday (13Feb09) morning to kick off New York Fashion Week and raise awareness about heart disease.
The trio was joined by former Wonder Woman Lynda Carter and Spelling’s 90210 co-star Jennie Garth, among others, to take part in the charity catwalk show.
They each showed off red designer dresses by the likes of Badgley Mischka, Donna Karan, Max Azria and Betsey Johnson, to benefit Clothes Off Our Back, an organisation that auctions off clothes worn by celebrities to raise money for children’s causes.

TV beauty ELIZA DUSHKU has found an unconventional way to unwind at the end of a long day at work - she’s taking chess lessons in a nightclub.
The 28-year-old actress picked up the hobby while in Los Angeles shooting new TV show Dollhouse.
And she’s learning her chess moves from a family member who happens to be a grandmaster and a Hollywood club boss.
The former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star reveals, "We work 14, 16 hour days. I don’t really like to go out and party, but I like to be around people. And my godfather has a nightclub in Hollywood and he’s a chess grandmaster; so I go there after work and he teaches me how to play to chess in his office."

Actress GLENN CLOSE loves the anonymity of living in New York - because she can go about her business without a constant trail of photographers.

Rock legends VAN HALEN have put plans for a new album on hold - so the band’s youngest member WOLFGANG VAN HALEN can finish high school.
Guitarist Eddie Van Halen pulled his son out of school in 2007 to tour with the band, as a bassist, when he was just 15 years old.
The teenager proved a huge hit and is now a full-time member of the Jump! group.
Van Halen wanted to follow the tour with a new studio album, but the band has vowed to wait until Wolfgang has graduated - so he can be a part of it.
Eddie Van Halen tells Hustler magazine, "We’re just waiting for the right time. I took Wolfie out of school for a whole year to do the tour. It was just a bad time because the 11th grade is the year when they prep you for college.
"First he graduates, then we’ll sit down, give (frontman) Dave (Lee Roth) a call and see if he feels like whooping and hollering a little bit. I’ve got a ton of music." But Van Halen Sr. admits he’s impatient for Wolfgang, now 17, to finish his education and join the family band: "Just a few weeks ago I almost yanked him out of school. But I do want him to graduate. The thing is, he already has a profession and a career that he’s successful, talented and gifted at."

THE KILLERS frontman BRANDON FLOWERS has vowed to steer his children away from alcohol - insisting his life has more direction since he kicked his booze habit.
The singer struggled to balance his Mormon beliefs with life as a hedonistic rock star.
But he decided to quit drinking and become an active member of the church after the birth of his son Ammon Richard in 2006 - and he wants his children to adhere to the boundaries of his new-found faith.
He says, "Drinking definitely conflicted with what I was raised to believe and what I want to teach my children to believe. When I think about the pain that came with it, it’s a no-brainer." And Flowers is adamant he doesn’t miss alcohol - because he has enjoyed a burst of creativity since turning his back on the bottle.
He adds, "Music has taken the place of drinking for me. I write songs in a hotel room at 2am rather than go to a party. Now I’m even more excited about getting to that keyboard in the hotel room."

Rocker EDDIE VAN HALEN will marry his fiancee JANIE LISZEWSKI this summer (09), in a ceremony officiated by his older brother and bandmate ALEX.
The couple will wed in the backyard of Van Halen’s California home in June.
And the 54-year-old guitarist, who proposed to Liszewski last August (08), is keen to keep it a close family affair.
He tells Hustler magazine, "It’s a small wedding, with only family and a few close friends here at home in our backyard. It’ll be nice. My brother is going to marry us. He can actually legally marry us. He’s an ordained minister. Reverend Al. It’s gonna be great." Besides Alex, there’ll also be a role in the ceremony for Van Halen’s son Wolfgang, 17, who plays bass for his dad’s band and will be giving him away on the big day.
Wolfgang is Van Halen’s son from his marriage to actress Valerie Bertinelli, whom he divorced in December 2007.

Rocker JON BON JOVI is suing a former employee of his American football team Philadelphia Soul, accusing the man of copyright infringement.
The Arena Football League (AFL) team were crowned champions in 2008 and each player was given a special ring to commemorate the occasion.
The Bon Jovi frontman and officials at Philadelphia Soul claim ex-sales manager Joe Krause illegally made his own version of the championship rings and sold them on to the public.
In the legal papers, filed in a U.S. court on Thursday (12Feb09), the team owners allege the design of the ring belongs to them, as well as any use of the team logo.
They are suing for damages and demanding all remaining infringing articles be destroyed, reports TMZ.com.
It is the second legal dispute between the two parties in the last few months - Krause filed his own lawsuit against Philadelphia Soul bosses in December (08), accusing them of failing to pay him almost $125,000 (£86,200) in outstanding wages.

Hollywood heart-throb ZAC EFRON almost turned his back on acting - because he was desperate to follow his friends to university.
Efron shot to international stardom with a starring role in Disney franchise High School Musical in 2006, and is now one of the most in demand actors in Hollywood.
Efron admits he initially planned to quit acting after his first few film roles to take up a place at the University of Southern California, before deciding to continue his successful movie career.
He says, "My life was set, I was going to go to college, I was going to try to do something great, like be a doctor. It didn’t really work out. I decided after I had done High School Musical and after I had done a couple of films that I wanted to go to college to study films.
"I had friends in the programme and they just raved about it. I was so jealous that they were there. After I was accepted to go, I was deferred for one year and since then, I haven’t really had time to go back."

VICTORIA BECKHAM was once offered a role on the judging panel of TV talent contest AMERICAN IDOL - but was "too busy" to take the job.
The former Spice Girl was recently rumoured to be in talks to join Simon Cowell’s U.K. singing show The X Factor.

JESSICA SIMPSON has issued a plea to women suffering domestic abuse - urging them to leave their violent partners and build new lives for themselves.
The singer penned a song for her latest album, titled Remember That, about her own experiences with violence in the home, but refused to confirm any details about how she was affected by abuse.
Simpson has previously spoken out about the subject, hinting that she had suffered at the hands of a former lover.

Singer KELLY CLARKSON has vowed never to appear on the big-screen again - because her last foray into acting was "horrible".
The Since U Been Gone hitmaker starred in comedy musical From Justin to Kelly in 2003, as part of her deal for winning the first series of reality TV show American Idol.
The film was a box office flop, widely panned by critics - and Clarkson insists she will never be tempted to make the transition from musician to film star again.
She tells Attitude magazine, "Oh it was a movie I had to do, and it was so horrible. Whoever won (American Idol) had to do it. I tried to get out of it legally, because I have no desire to be an actress. My favourite actresses are like Meryl Streep and Cate Blanchett and I always hate when I go to movies and I think you just shouldn’t be an actress. It was horrible. I am a horrible actress.
"Whenever it’s like a musical, or a video, I do fine. But urgh - it was horrible. I hated every minute of it. Everyone on the set will tell you that I was nice, I was lovely to work with… I just hated it. I will never be an actress. Ever. That’s what I’m saying."

Bosses at concert promotion giants Live Nation have blasted reports they have signed a record deal with JANET JACKSON.
The Nasty hitmaker was said to have inked a contract with the company - encompassing her album and concert plans - following her departure from Island Records in September (08).
But Live Nation chiefs have now flatly denied the reports.
A spokesman says, "Live Nation has not signed a deal with Janet Jackson, nor are we in discussions with the artist about a deal."

Actor KEVIN COSTNER is a father again - his wife CHRISTINE BAUMGARTNER has given birth to a baby boy.
Hayes Logan Costner was born on Thursday (12Feb09) night in Los Angeles, weighing in at 8 pounds, 15 ounces.
He is the couple’s second son - they welcomed Cayden Wyatt Costner into the world in May 2007.
Costner, 54, also has three grown-up children from his first marriage to childhood sweetheart Cindy Silva.
