DEGENERES DISMISSES FIRE STORY
Comedienne-turned-U.S. chat show host ELLEN DEGENERES has dismissed Internet reports she’s homeless after the studio where she films her daily show burned down.
DeGeneres heard the news her set on the Warner Bros. lot was all ablaze during her drive to work on Wednesday (11Feb09), and she panicked further when she found fire crews surrounding the studio upon her arrival.
She says, "A fire alarm was going off and water was gushing out all over the street. People just assumed there was a fire.
"But here’s what actually happened: a sprinkler pipe burst and a small portion of our studio right near the street flooded. The fire department came to check to see if there was a gas leak. There was not a gas leak. So, in conclusion, no fire."
