JESSICA SIMPSON is determined to create a new line of dresses aimed at women of "every figure" - insisting she knows how to help "curvy" girls.
Simpson hit the headlines recently after she was pictured looking notably heavier on-stage at a concert in Florida last month (Jan09).
The photos prompted criticism for her weight gain - with the star’s sister Ashlee branding the media attention "embarrassing and belittling" in an angry rant on her blog.
And now Simpson - who owns her own self-named fashion brand - has spoken out about the pressure facing women to remain thin.
In an interview in the latest issue of In Style magazine, Simpson reveals her fashion plans.
She says, "I want to create clothes that flatter every figure. I know how a dress can make you feel so frumpy. We want to reach every type of person.

Filmmaker WOODY ALLEN is embarking on a new bid to conquer London - with the help of Hollywood stars SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS and JOSH BROLIN.
Allen abandoned his native New York in 2005 to make three movies in the British capital; Match Point, Scoop and Cassandra’s Dream.
The big screen trio failed to live up to expectation, prompting to Allen to turn his attentions to Spain, where he scored a hit in 2008 with Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
Now Allen is returning to the U.K. and has lined up the two heavyweights to headline his latest top secret project.
Shooting will begin in London in the summer (09).

An ambulance driver accused of attempting to extort millions of dollars from actor JOHN TRAVOLTA following his son’s death has been denied requests to lower his bail.
Tarino Lightbourne has been in custody since his arrest on 23 January (09) for his alleged involvement in a reported $25 million (£17 million) scheme targeting Travolta and his wife as they mourned the loss of their teenage son Jett.
Lightbourne allegedly conspired with former Bahamas senator Pleasant Bridgewater to release a document related to the teenager’s January (09) death, and was charged with attempted extortion and conspiracy to extort money.
On Wednesday (11Feb09), Bahamian Judge Carolita Bethel refused to reduce Lightbourne’s $50,000 (£34,015) bail requirement.
Bridgewater, also charged with conspiracy in the alleged plot, remains free on $50,000 bail.
Prosecutors have reportedly fast-tracked the case and will present plans to place it on the docket for trial before the Supreme Court of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in Nassau when the court reconvenes on 16 April (09).

France’s first lady CARLA BRUNI-SARKOZY has travelled to the world’s third poorest country on her first mission as a goodwill ambassador - to raise awareness about Aids.
The singer, a spokesperson for the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria, touched down in the capital city of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, Africa, on Tuesday (10Feb09).
During her fact-finding mission, Bruni will meet HIV-positive mothers and children at a local hospital and hold talks with health officials and charity workers in a bid to advance the cause.
The star became a goodwill ambassador for the protection of mothers and children against Aids last November (08).

The man who brawled with movie star VINNIE JONES in a South Dakota bar has been arrested on drug charges.
The former soccer hard man was charged with three counts of assault following the fight in December (08) - after he was caught on CCTV punching Juan Barrera.
Jones needed 48 stitches after the fight, during which he was reportedly hit in the face by a glass.
And, as Jones prepares for a hearing on 23 February (09), his fighting partner faces a new legal problem.
Barrera and two associates were arrested on Friday (06Feb09) after police intercepted two packages full of marijuana reportedly intended for the trio at a Sioux Falls, South Dakota FedEx office.
Officers then staged a raid on Barrera’s apartment and found $18,000 (£12,000) in cash and a gun.
The three men have pleaded not guilty to possession of and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

GREY’S ANATOMY star ERIC DANE is trying for a baby with his wife REBECCA GAYHEART.
The couple - which was forced to deny rumours of a split last year (08) - wed in 2004 and has now decided the time is right to start a family.
During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actor admits he is desperate to start having children with his 36-year-old partner and they have consulted doctors in a bid to make their pregnancy dream come true.
He says, "We�re currently working on that (having children)." And Dane reveals they have been forced to schedule sessions in the bedroom to make sure they have plenty of opportunities to conceive.
He adds, "Itâ��s funny because you get the doctors involved and they call you and it’s like, in eight days (when Gayheart’s most fertile) Iâ��ll have to put in some work. I will be very busy and I probably shouldnâ��t schedule anything else."

A spokesperson for RAY J’s new TV dating show has dismissed allegations the R&B singer impregnated a contestant during filming, insisting there is "no truth" to the claims.
The Sexy Can I star - who has been romantically linked to Whitney Houston - has his own VH1 show, For The Love of Ray J, in which he searches for his perfect woman.
But the reality programme, which launched in the U.S. on 2 February (09), has already been struck by scandal, with former contestant Monica ‘Danger’ Leon alleging she is more than three months pregnant with the singer’s child after falling for Ray J’s charms.
According to the National Enquirer, Leon bedded Brandy’s little brother in November (08) - but has found herself with child after their condom broke and her contraception pill failed.
She tells the tabloid, "I was locked in a mansion with him and 13 girls from October until the end of December. Toward the end of the first week of filming, we made love for the first time - and we slept together every night after that." Leon - who is now engaged to marry rapper/actor Nick Cannon’s brother Gabriel - allegedly told Ray J of her baby news, and the star is reportedly keen to get involved, but she is keeping him at bay because of his straying affections.
She adds, "I saw him playing around with other girls - making out with them and smacking their butts, and it made me sick to think he could be giving me their germs when he was kissing me." However, a representative for the show has brushed off Leon’s claims, saying: "We’ve been told that the story is not true."

R&B singer NE-YO is facing a lawsuit from bosses at an entertainment company, who accuse him of reneging on a $95,000 (GBP64,625) deal to perform at a New Year’s Eve event.
According to the lawsuit filed last week (beg02Feb09) in Maryland, bosses at Wet Entertainment booked the star to headline a party at a nightspot in Bellevue, Washington.
Organisers claim they paid the fee up front and made arrangements for the show, including promotion, travel and hotel accommodations but the star never arrived, reports TMZ.com.
The company is reportedly suing Ne-Yo and the booking agents who made the deal for $1 million (GBP680,270) in damages in addition to the $95,000 fee.

RIHANNA has left fans in Indonesia "traumatised" after postponing a concert in the country for the second time, amid reports of a fight with boyfriend CHRIS BROWN.
The Umbrella hitmaker was due to perform in Jakarta on Thursday (12Feb09) but has been forced to pull out "because of an assault case involving Rihanna’s boyfriend", according to tour promoter Showmaster.
Brown, 19, was arrested for felony battery after an incident with a woman - believed to be Rihanna - in a vehicle in Los Angeles in the early hours of Sunday morning (08Feb09).
It is the second time Rihanna has axed a show in the Indonesian capital - she cancelled a gig in November (08) following the issue of a travel warning by the Australian government after the executions of three men convicted of the 2002 bombings in Bali.
And the cancellation is said to have devastated her fans - and frustrated organisers.
Concert promoter Troy Reza Warokka says, "We spoke to (Rihanna representative) Tony Goldring of the William Morris Agency and he said the concert had to be cancelled because of an assault case involving Rihanna’s boyfriend. This is her second postponement (in Indonesia). Her fans are traumatised and we’ve spent so much money on production and promotional materials." Warokka has suggested that the 20-year-old may not be invited back to perform before the end of 2009, adding: "He (Goldring) offered to reschedule but we don’t think we’ll take it up, not this year at least." Rihanna also postponed a sold-out concert in Malaysia on Tuesday (10Feb09) as a result of the assault incident.
Meanwhile, Kiss Kiss hitmaker Brown has taken yet another hit to his career - he’s been dumped from two Valentine’s Day (14Feb09) parties he was due to host in Arizona and replaced with Nelly.

ADAM SANDLER has assembled an all-star cast including ROB SCHNEIDER, CHRIS ROCK, DAVID SPADE and KEVIN JAMES to appear in a new comedy movie.
The Wedding Singer actor teamed up with writer Fred Wolf to pen the screenplay, about five best friends from high school who reunite 30 years later for America’s Independence Day (04Jul) celebrations.
Director Dennis Dugan will take control of the as-yet-untitled project, with shooting expected to begin this summer (09).

Hip-hop icon SNOOP DOGG has signed a groundbreaking new deal with MTV to release his next album and launch a variety show.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot star recently quit his label Interscope Records after 10 years with the company and has now inked a new contract with MTV.
Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, has been handed a multi-platform deal which will see the rapper front a weekly entertainment programme titled Dogg After Dark. The show will feature celebrity interviews, sketch comedy and musical performances.
MTV bosses will also handle his music career with distribution and promotional ties to his upcoming record, Malice in Wonderland, slated for release later this year (Sep09).
In addition, the move will see the star’s back catalogue made available to the broadcasting giant’s Rock Band video game franchise.
MTV Networks Music/Films/Logo Groups President Van Toffler says in a statement, "Snoop has been a mainstay across MTV screens for over a decade by pushing the boundaries of hip-hop with his signature antics, incredible catalogue of music, legendary videos, larger than life personality and even a little controversy. We look forward to launching this new multidimensional partnership with the Doggfather." It is the second TV show for Snoop - he already has his own reality show on the E! network called Fatherhood.

British actor DANIEL RADCLIFFE has taken time out of his busy schedule to visit a London hospital to see the HARRY POTTER stuntdouble who was recently injured in a horrific onset accident.
David Holmes was admitted to hospital last month (Jan09) with a serious back injury after falling from a harness at Leavesden Studios, in Hertfordshire, England, while filming new movie Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
The 25-year-old, who steps in for dangerous scenes for Radcliffe, was hurt when a rehearsal for a flying scene went wrong. He was recently transferred to a specialist spinal unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in north London where he underwent surgery.
Radcliffe, who was in New York at the time of the accident, recently flew back to the U.K. and went to visit his pal in the medical facility on Tuesday (11Feb09).
Tom Felton, who plays Draco Malfoy in the blockbuster movies, joined Radcliffe in visiting Holmes, and was accompanied by his girlfriend Jade Olivia, who was pictured crying outside the hospital after the emotional visit.
The film set at the British studio recently reopened following a brief closure following the shocking accident.

Winslet shares a "rare" off-screen friendship with DiCaprio - and insists she is happy to go to extremes with him to make the perfect movie.
She tells Britain’s OK magazine, "When we filmed difficult scenes we developed a secret language of our own. With our history we could do anything without feeling stupid.
"I would even let Leo physically harm me if it meant making a scene better, and I know he feels the same way. If we didn’t have this rare friendship, I don’t think we would be able to show that chemistry on screen."

British royal PRINCE HARRY is at the centre of another race row - after reportedly telling a comedian he didn’t "sound like a black chap".
The prince is alleged to have made the remark to black comic Stephen K. Amos at a show to celebrate his father Prince Charles’ 60th birthday in November (08).
Amos claims the royal congratulated him on his performance backstage before saying, "You don’t sound like a black chap." Amos recalls, "I wanted to say: ‘How is (sic) I supposed to sound?’" The new row comes a month (Jan09) after Harry was forced to issue an apology when he was caught on camera referring to an Army colleague as a "P*ki".
He was also heavily criticised in 2005 for wearing a Nazi uniform to a fancy dress party.

British rockers THE CRIBS slammed their own security at a gig on Tuesday (10Feb09) when they were forced to shield a fan from an overzealous bodyguard.
The band was playing a show in London when music devotee Tommy Powell attempted to climb onto the stage after crowd-surfing to the front.
Powell was immediately pounced on by a burly bouncer and hurled into the photographers’ pit in front of the audience.
And frontman Ryan Jarman was so angered by the security guard’s reaction, he leaped down to help Powell and pulled him back onto the stage. He then chastised their security team for using such extreme measures.
Jarman told the crowd, "I don’t see a reason to push a guy like this off the stage. So from now on he stays up here with us." Powell remained on stage with the musicians for the rest of the set, despite guards’ repeated attempts to remove him, which were blocked by the band.
The Cribs were recently joined by former the Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, who has become a regular fixture in the line-up.

British singer ADELE was so stunned to be nominated for a Grammy award, she locked herself in the bathroom for an hour.
The British singer picked up four nods and took home gongs for Best New Artist and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the ceremony on Sunday (08Feb09).
But the Chasing Pavements hitmaker admits she was so shocked she was nominated at all, she hid from her own mother who was visiting her at home.
She says, "I had forgotten about the announcements and I was told it was a long shot… I got an e-mail from (blogger) Perez Hilton saying I had been nominated for Best New Artist. So I locked myself in the toilet and cried for an hour. I didn’t know I had been nominated for four. By the time I found out I was on my knees."
