BRUNI-SARKOZY RAISING AIDS AWARENESS IN AFRICA
France’s first lady CARLA BRUNI-SARKOZY has travelled to the world’s third poorest country on her first mission as a goodwill ambassador - to raise awareness about Aids.
The singer, a spokesperson for the Global Fund to Fight Aids, Tuberculosis and Malaria, touched down in the capital city of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, Africa, on Tuesday (10Feb09).
During her fact-finding mission, Bruni will meet HIV-positive mothers and children at a local hospital and hold talks with health officials and charity workers in a bid to advance the cause.
The star became a goodwill ambassador for the protection of mothers and children against Aids last November (08).
