STREEP’S LUCKY WARDROBE
MERYL STREEP is shunning designer dresses for this awards season in favour of existing outfits in her own closet - because she’s convinced that’s the lucky charm which will help win her an Oscar this month (Feb09).
The actress rejected a designer gown and picked out one of her own frocks for the recent Screen Actor’s Guild Awards - and was stunned when she won the Best Actress prize for her role in religious drama Doubt.
So Streep - nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award for Doubt - has vowed to stick to her own clothes for the rest of the awards season.
She says, "I’ll never buy a dress again."
