BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD STAR MARTIN DEAD AT 68
BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD star DEWEY MARTIN has died, aged 68.
The drummer passed away on Saturday (31Jan09), according to reports. The cause of death is unknown.
Born Walter Milton Dwayne Midkiff, Martin was a session player for Patsy Kline, Roy Orbison and the Everly Brothers in Nashville, Tennessee, before joining Neil Young’s iconic Los Angeles band in the mid-1960s.
In his biography, Shakey, Young recalls Martin was "a sensitive drummerâ.
The drummer also sang Buffalo Springfield’s Good Time Boy and provided backing vocals on the group’s hit For What Itâs Worth.
