The sons of late BEATLES legend JOHN LENNON are reportedly set to perform together for the first time at a United Nations concert in New York.
Julian Lennon, 45, from the star’s first marriage to Cynthia Lennon, and Sean, 33, who is Yoko Ono’s son, have both enjoyed solo careers in music - but have never teamed up together in public.
The half-brothers are now said to have agreed to play at the UN-Millennium Goal Awards, which will take place in Manhattan on 26 February (09), according to Fox News.
Lennon’s murder in 1980 reportedly left a rift between the siblings, with Julian and his mother left to battle Ono through the courts for a share of the singer’s estate.
But the pair is said to have grown closer in recent years, bonding over their shared love of music.
The Lennon brothers will join a line up which reportedly also includes Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, Akon and Macy Gray

MADONNA’s former father-in-law is hoping the pop superstar enjoys a healthy lovelife after splitting from his son, GUY RITCHIE, because then there will be no chance of a reconciliation.
John Ritchie is still smarting from the 2008 break-up but he insists his moviemaker son is better off without his ex.
He tells In Touch magazine, "The worst thing would be if they reconciled… We hope she (Madonna) does have a lot of boyfriends because it means she won’t ever get back together with Guy."

Actress RENEE ZELLWEGER was so desperate to witness U.S. President BARACK OBAMA’s inauguration she launched a last-minute bid to get to Washington, D.C. alone.
The star shunned her star status on 20 January (09), and went unrecognised by the two million civilians swarming the nation’s capitol after she bundled up to watch Obama’s swearing-in ceremony.
And Zellweger insists she was content to give up the company of celebrity revellers, including Oprah Winfrey and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who watched Obama take his oath from the front rows.
She says, "I just had to be there. I was a bit obsessed… so, with no tickets, and no plan, and no access, I got on a train and I just went.
"I walked for three hours and stood on a police barricade… I was prepared for the crowd, I was prepared for the cold, I wasn’t prepared for how emotional it was going to be. I am so glad I was there, regardless of the fact I couldn’t feel my toes for three days after the fact."

ASHTON KUTCHER has apologised to his neighbour for calling him a "jackass" and threatening to hi-jack his bulldozer in a building work meltdown.
The Punk’d star went online to complain about screenwriter Bruce Goldsmith’s early construction work, which has been waking him up at 7am. He then took his grievances on air by calling up DJ Ryan Seacrest’s radio show to rant about his inconsiderate neighbour.
Hours later, the actor had calmed down enough to film a video in which he apologised to Goldsmith - and post it online.
He says, "You know, you’re very vulnerable at 7am… In light of reflection, I just want to say I pledge to be more tolerant of my neighbour’s hammering in the morning as he tolerated the construction of my home."

Actress ANNA FARIS is heading down the aisle once more, and planning to wed actor boyfriend CHRIS PRATT.
Pratt, one of the stars of Kate Hudson’s new movie Bride Wars, proposed to the House Bunny star "late last year" (08), according to Faris’ publicist - but the actress chose to keep the happy news to herself over the holidays.
Faris, 32, was spotted out in Hollywood on Wednesday (29Jan09) with her toyboy lover, sporting a diamond ring on her wedding finger.
The actress’ previous marriage to actor Ben Indra ended in 2007.
Last summer (08), Faris cooed about Pratt, 29, in a People magazine article, stating, "He’s awesome. He’s a great, great guy. I feel really lucky."

LILY ALLEN has put her decision to quit booze down to a public row with SIR ELTON JOHN at an awards ceremony last year (08).
The Smile hitmaker recently vowed to stop drinking and curb her partying ways - and she credits a much-publicised incident at the GQ Men Of The Year Awards in London with opening her eyes to her bad behaviour.
The odd couple was co-hosting the prizegiving when the Rocket Man criticised tipsy Allen’s drinking onstage. His comments sparked a war of words between the duo.
And Allen now admits the row put her off alcohol for the next few months.
She says, "I did stop drinking pretty much the day after that. I was really upset and angry about it all. I felt like I�d done a good thing for charity, for Elton, and it had spun out of control.
â��Someone said to me, â��Look, if youâ��d not had a bottle of champagne in your hand then people wouldnâ��t have made such a big deal of it.â�� "Thatâ��s when I decided if I ever got angry again Iâ��d make sure I was never pictured with a drink in my hand as well." THE SOPRANOS star EDIE FALCO felt awkward researching her new TV role as NURSE JACKIE in a real hospital - because she just kept getting in the way.
The actress decided to hang out in emergency rooms to get a sense of what real nurses go through as they attend to the sick, but she quickly realised that the last thing ill people want to see when they’re in need of medical care is an actress.

WILLIAM H. MACY’s decision to take over JEREMY PIVEN’s role in DAVID MAMET’s SPEED-THE-PLOW has paid off for the producers of the Broadway play - the production has recouped its investment.
Piven was forced to quit last year (08) after suffering mercury poisoning, and Fargo star Macy, a longtime friend of Mamet, stepped in to save the show.
Speed-The-Plow joins Katie Holmes’ turn in All My Sons among the handful of hits in the current theatre season on Broadway.
Macy’s co-stars in the play are Raul Esparza and newly-engaged actress Elisabeth Moss.
Speed-The-Plow will conclude its limited run on 22 February (09).
The producers have lodged a grievance with actors’ union Equity about Piven’s departure.

OSMOND brother ALAN is hoping AMERICAN IDOL can give his singing son a boost - after DAVID OSMOND made it through the audition process for the current season of the TV talent show.
The 29 year old was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis - the same disease eldest Osmond Alan suffers from - three years ago, but he isn’t letting that stand in the way of his music dreams.

Fans of 1970s pop star DONNY OSMOND will have to wait to see him strut his stuff on the TV dance floor - he won’t be among the contestants on the new season of U.S. show DANCING WITH THE STARS.
Osmond revealed he was "considering" following in sister Marie’s footsteps and signing up for the programme during a TV interview at the beginning of the week (26Jan09), but now he insists he won’t be a part of the new show, which debuts this spring (Apr09).
He says, "I’m definitely not doing this upcoming season." And he admits he’s yet to be asked to be a part of the dancing contest: "If there was an offer on the table, I’d do it in the fall (autumn). I would make room for it. Absolutely!" The new Dancing With The Stars cast will be announced on 9 February (09).
Osmond’s sister Marie was among the celebrities who took part in the fifth season of the hit series.

NEIL DIAMOND has handed over the profits from merchandising sales on his recent tour to the victims of Hurricane Ike.
The Sweet Caroline singer admits his heart went out to Texans hit by the 2008 storm - and he decided to hand over cash from sales of T-shirts and souvenirs at his concerts to those who need it most.
He tells CNN, "Hurricane Ike hit southern Texas so fiercely and has been forgotten about by the rest of the country - but these people are still in desperate straits, and are in dire need of our help." And Diamond’s aid wasn’t lost on officials in Houston - he was given a private tour of the worst-hit areas by the city’s Mayor.
He adds, "I saw what was going on. The mayor of Houston took me around, and he told me about it and introduced me to some people.
"The next day, I drove down to some of the hardest-hit areas, and I just felt that I had to do something, and I felt that maybe my audience would help me out with it."

PATRICK SWAYZE’s publicists are slamming U.S. tabloid reports the actor has abandoned treatment for pancreatic cancer, insisting there is "no truth" to the allegations.
The National Enquirer claimed the Dirty Dancing star, who was diagnosed with the fatal disease last year (08), had quit all chemotherapy and was preparing for his final days after allegedly being told his condition was "inoperable".
But Swayze’s representative Annett Wolf has blasted the rumours, saying: "The reports are not true. Patrick is continuing his treatment." The star was recently released from hospital after undergoing treatment for pneumonia, but he insisted he was fighting the illness as best he could.
He told reporters, "I am still alive and plan on continuing to stay that way."

EVAN RACHEL WOOD has lashed out at her THE WRESTLER co-star MICKEY ROURKE for fuelling reports the pair is dating.

Kutcher claims screenwriter Bruce Goldsmith has been restructuring his home for four months, and now building work has started at 7am every morning.
The Just Married star is woken up by the sound of pounding hammers - and he’s had enough.
On Thursday (29Jan09), angry Ashton took his complaints online via his Twitter.com account - and followed those up by airing his grievances on Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest’s breakfast show.
Kutcher raged, "He’s built, like, a fort next to our house and I wake up every morning to people pounding on steel at 7am… He’s got a bulldozer down there and I’m gonna hijack it in the middle of the night.
"I’m gonna start cutting down trees at four." And Goldsmith has fired back after his neighbour called him a "jackass" and threatened, "I’m gonna lose it on this guy" during his Twitter chat, posted minutes after the actor was woken up by construction work.
The writer tells TMZ.com, "He (Kutcher) just doesn’t want to deal with reality… He’s out of line… They don’t make hammers covered with rubber." Goldsmith insists he’s doing nothing wrong - Los Angeles laws allow him to start construction work at 7am.

DANNY DEVITO is hailing a cab all the way to the movies - he wants his hit TV show TAXI to be revamped as a reunion film.
The actor, who played a bad-tempered boss in the beloved sitcom, wants to reteam with Christopher Lloyd, Marilu Henner, Tony Danza and the rest of the surviving cast for a movie.
He says, "It’s not out of the question that down the line we could go revisit the garage and do a really good Taxi reunion movie.
