Director STEPHEN SOMMERS has denied asking SIENNA MILLER to wear a cleavage enhancing costume for upcoming movie G.I. JOE - after the British actress was reportedly "mildly offended" by the request.
The Alfie star recently hit out at the filmmaker’s insistence that she boost her assets for her role in the action blockbuster.
Miller told Hollyscoop.com, "The director said, ‘I’m gonna be honest, I like girls with big boobs,’ and I don’t have them so we made them bigger. At least he’s honest. But I was mildly offended." But Sommers has laughed off her comments, claiming he would never make such a demand of one of his stars.
He says, "Everybody here laughed because they know I would never say that to an actress. "I guess the costume department gave her a tight fitting bra, but no one gave her rubber breasts or whatever. It is 100 per cent Sienna Miller."

BRITNEY SPEARS’ ex-husband KEVIN FEDERLINE has denied he is returning to his roots with an appearance on hit U.S. show DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The 30-year-old, who met his pop superstar ex while working as one of her backing dancers, was recently rumoured to have signed up to the reality TV contest for the upcoming season which kicks off in March (09).
But Federline has dismissed the reports, with his representative telling Hollyscoop.com the rumours are "not true". Former teen heartthrob Donny Osmond is currently one of the prospective stars, after he let slip to TV host Bonnie Hunt: "I’m seriously considering doing it. I guess I just let the cat out of the bag."

FAMILY GUY creator SETH MCFARLANE decided against featuring a cameo appearance from BRITNEY SPEARS in the hit show - because he feared a retaliation from rival cartoon series SOUTH PARK.
Spears was mocked for her personal problems in an episode of South Park last year (08), while McFarlane’s hit show also took a battering.
The pop singer reportedly offered to lend her voice to an retaliatory installment of Family Guy, but the creator subsequently scrapped the idea - because he didn’t want to start an onscreen battle with South Park writers Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
McFarlane says, "That would do more harm than good. (It) would take too much work."

Animated movie SHREK has topped a poll of kids films most loved by adults.
The 2001 animated adventure beat out competition from Johnny Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean and Pixar/Disney movie Finding Nemo, which claimed second and third places respectively.
Tom Hanks-starring Toy Story earned the fourth spot, while the top five was rounded out by Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone.
A spokesman for the onepoll.com survey says, "Shrek is a great film if you are four or five. The adult humour keeps the older generations happy." Other movies to garner a mention include Mrs. Doubtfire, The Lion King and Monsters Inc.

ONE TREE HILL star JAMES LAFFERTY has been forced to cancel his annual charity basketball event due to "constant harassment" from members of the public.
The actor has organised a celebrity-packed game in Wilmington, North Carolina for the past five years, with proceeds from ticket sales being donated to local good causes.
But Lafferty has scrapped the 2009 event, blaming overzealous fans for invading his life and making him feel unsafe at public events.
A statement from the star reads, "I will not be holding a charity basketball game this year. As a result of constant harassment and gross invasions of privacy via e-mail and telephone, targeting myself, my friends and even my family, I no longer feel comfortable holding a fundraiser in such an intimate setting with fans.
"It is frustrating and discouraging that a few have ruined it for the many this year, and I hope that myself and the show have the opportunity to be charitable again in the future under different circumstances." Last year (08) the event attracted over 1,300 fans and raised over $30,000 (£20,000) for charity.

Officials at U.S. TV network ABC have denied hit series UGLY BETTY is set to be cancelled - after announcing plans to take the show off-air in March (09).
The programme, starring America Ferrera, is being pulled mid-way through its current third season run and replaced by new episodes of Christina Applegate’s Samantha Who? and comedy In the Motherhood.
The move prompted fears the series would be axed following the season three finale, but TV executives have now issued a statement assuring fans the show will be back.
An ABC spokesperson says, "Ugly Betty will return following the run of In the Motherhood and Samantha Who? The Thursday night block is a good opportunity to launch these comedies. That said, Betty is a solid performer and there is no question that it will definitely be back to complete its season, just without repeats.�

GUY RITCHIE treated his sons to an action packed day out on Sunday (25Jan09) - the trio took to the slopes for skiing lessons.
The moviemaker was granted a day with his son Rocco, eight, and adopted tot David Banda, three, after joining their mother Madonna for a Kabbalah service in New York.
The star then whisked his sons off to the Camelback Mountain Ski Resort in Pennsylvania for an afternoon of winter activities. Madonna’s 12-year-old daughter Lourdes, from a previous relationship, stayed behind with her mother.
Ritchie and Rocco, wrapped up against the cold, showed off their skills on the snow while baby brother David looked on. Ritchie and Madonna split in October (08) and their divorce was made official earlier this month (Jan09). The boys are believed to divide their time between both parents, while Lourdes lives permanently with the singer in New York.

Organisers of the upcoming Academy Awards have filed suit against a company accused of selling fraudulent ticket packages to the glittering ceremony.
Lawyers for the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences filed papers in a Los Angeles Federal District Court on Monday (26Jan09) claiming ticket firm McMurry Inc. has been selling phony Oscars packages.
The legal documents accuses bosses at the company of offering members of the public a $175,000 (£120,000) deal which would include tickets to the 22 February (09) event, as well as a seven day stay in L.A. with luxury hotel accommodation thrown in.
But Oscars organisers claim that as tickets for the ceremony as non-transferable, people buying the packages would be marked as trespassers and not allowed into the Kodak Theatre venue at all, according to TMZ.com.
The Academy Awards board have requested an injunction be granted against McMurry Inc. to stop them selling any more deals, as well as compensatory and punitive damages.

R&B star NE-YO is keen to give his next album a more unusual sound - he is hoping to record a duet with pop newcomer LADY GAGA.
The singer admits he is a big fan of the Just Dance hitmaker’s style and wants to team up with her in the studio.
He says, "I really hope GaGa and I can work together. I have never been so excited about an artist before. Being yourself is what makes an artist. She epitomises to me what artistry is. She is a strange one, but it’s refreshing. She makes no apologies for being who she is. She takes pride in being an individual and I made it my business to tell her when we met up on the road."

Soul legend ARETHA FRANKLIN has become the latest celebrity to have their star on Hollywood Walk of Fame defaced by anti-fur protesters.
The shared star belonging to Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, unveiled in April 2004, was recently vandalised with the words "Fur Hags!", while Sharon Stone’s marker on the Hollywood Boulevard, which she received in November 1995, has been daubed with "Old Fur Hag!".
And now Franklin’s tribute has also fallen victim to vandalism - the plaque has been inscribed with the words "Fur Hag!" The singer was last year (08) named and shamed by officials at campaign group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) - who targeted Franklin for repeatedly donning real animal pelts.

R&B singer AKON found himself at the centre of a frightening scene in London recently - when an encounter with fans went awry.
The Smack That hitmaker was strolling through the city centre at the weekend (24/25Jan09) when several members of the public approached the star.
But the sighting sparked a fan frenzy and after being mobbed, Akon was forced to take shelter in a nearby fast food restaurant.
And the star had to be smuggled out of the building’s back entrance after the surging mob of fans shattered a window.
He says, "The intention was to go and watch a movie, but as we were walking there I spotted this little catfight in the middle of the street. It was really funny so I started filming it on my phone.
"I forgot who I was for a second, and people started to notice me - before I knew it I was being mobbed by about 300 fans. I had to run to the nearby Burger King, but it got so crazy with people following that a window ended up getting smashed. They had to sneak us out the back and I never did get to see that film."

AMY WINEHOUSE has applied for permission to visit her jailed husband in a desperate final attempt to save their marriage.
Blake Fielder-Civil, jailed in the U.K. for causing actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice, filed for divorce earlier this month (Jan09) in a bid to bring the couple’s 20-month union to an end.
But the Back To Black hitmaker - currently on a a sunshine break in the Caribbean - has subsequently vowed to salvage their relationship, and her marriage.
And now the star has reportedly made plans to fly back to Britain and visit her spouse in prison, in a bid to persuade him to change his mind about the divorce.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "Since he (Fielder-Civil) began divorce proceedings, Amy has decided she wants to try and work things out. �She has applied to visit him in jail in Britain and if he accepts she will fly back. We will see what is his priority - Amy or her money.� Winehouse married Fielder-Civil in Miami, Florida in 2007.

An injured paparazzo is suing DAVID BECKHAM after finding himself at the wrong end of an alleged celebrity beat down.
Emicles Da Mata has filed suit in Los Angeles, claiming the soccer star and his bodyguard attacked him in December (08).
Da Mata has accused Beckham of reaching into his car, grabbing his camera and attempting to wrestle it from him.
The lawsuit, obtained by TMZ.com, also claims Beckham’s bodyguard then beat him repeatedly before throwing the camera into a nearby rubbish bin.
Da Mata is suing for assault and battery, as well as emotional distress.

SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and EDDIE VEDDER are to share the stage at an upcoming New York concert to benefit moviemaker DAVID LYNCH’s meditation charity.
The rockers will join Sheryl Crow, Donovan and Moby at the David Lynch Foundation gig in April (09).
Lynch plans to use the money from the show to further spread the message of transcendental meditation. His aim is to teach a million children the technique.
The Twin Peaks director says, "In today’s world of fear and uncertainty, every child should have one class period a day to dive within himself and experience the field of silence (and) bliss - the enormous reservoir of energy and intelligence that is deep within all of us. This is the way to save the coming generation.
"I have been diving within through the Transcendental Meditation technique for over 30 years. It has changed my life, my world."

World affairs have cost JEAN RENO his friendship with French President NICOLAS SARKOZY - the old pals only meet up for birthdays these days.
The Da Vinci Code star is extremely proud of his dear friend, who now runs his country, but Sarkozy’s busy life means he has very little social time.
Reno says, "It’s more difficult for us to socialise. His birthday is January 28, and that’s when I’ll see him next. If you’re a friend to those kinds of people you can not be a weight on their shoulders." The actor reveals the two pals communicate with each other via text message: "Before his speech at the United Nations, when he said, ‘I don’t want to talk to a country that wants to destroy Israel,’ I sent him a text: ‘Nicolas, I’m happy for you.’ "I’m not a Jew and he’s not, so I found what he said very honest and very tough to say.
"I’m not in politics, but I support him. He is good for France. I think, regarding the crisis that we’re living in and with the relationship to America, I was so happy that he opened his arms, especially in New York."

Director SAM MENDES is working with screenwriter JOHN AUGUST to turn his dream of making a movie version of graphic novel PREACHER into a reality.
The American Beauty filmmaker has been desperate to turn the cult comic book into a film for months, but has struggled to find a script to go with the project, about rebellious preacher Jesse Custer who embarks on a quest to find God and hold him accountable for crimes against humanity.
But now Mendes is one step closer to fulfilling his aim - although August is warning fans not to get over-excited.
On his blog, he says, "To answer your first four questions: There’s no release date, no cast, no locations, no nothing. I’m writing a script which could become a movie if everything lines up correctly. So here’s hoping. It’s a terrific project that I’m excited to be writing."

French movie star JEAN RENO has mixed emotions about becoming a father again at 60 - he will have time to play with the new baby, but he’s not sure how active he’ll be as his kid grows up.
The Da Vinci Code star’s third wife, Zofia Borucka, is set to give birth to the actor’s fifth child later this year (09), and Reno can’t wait to take a break from acting and spend time with the new addition.
He says, "I will be able to spend one hour on the carpet with my baby. I wasn’t able to do that when I was younger because I was always working, so I hope to be there and have more time." But he’s trying not to think about the future - because he worries he won’t have the energy to be a hands-on dad: "The question that pains me is will I be able to play football or even to run when the baby gets older. We’ll see." And Reno admits he no longer wants to be reminded of his age - his 60th birthday celebrations were his last.
He explains, "I don’t want to celebrate anymore. I admitted that I do not want people saying, ‘Hey, you look great, you’re in shape.’ No, leave me alone!"

Ape lover ANJELICA HUSTON has penned a letter to THE MUMMY director STEPHEN SOMMERS in a bid to keep real monkeys out of his new TARZAN movie.
The Oscar winner has asked Sommers to use computer-generated animals instead of the real thing.
She insists ape actors are emotionally and physically abused during their film and TV careers, and spend the rest of their lives in zoos.
Huston writes, "Critics lauded King Kong in particular for the emotional depth that the giant ape displayed - without any real apes suffering in the process.
"Can I please hear that you similarly plan to use only creative alternatives to great apes in Tarzan?�
