RONNIE WOOD’s stepson JAMIE has explained his decision to quit his role as the star’s business manager - blaming the move on his the rocker’s decision to leave his mother for a younger woman.
Wood split from his wife of 23 years, Jamie’s mother Jo, last year (Jul08), after the star’s affair with Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova was exposed over the summer.
And Jamie subsequently quit his job managing Wood’s financial arrangements - out of respect for his devastated mum.
He says, "You don�t manage Ronnie for money, you do it for love. I was happy to be involved with his career as a family member.
â��However, heâ��s made certain personal choices and I have made my choice, which is to stand by my mum." Jamie, an avid supporter of North London soccer giants Arsenal, adds he would rather be in charge of his sports team’s bitter rivals - struggling club Tottenham Hotspur - than carry on working for the Rolling Stones star.
He adds, "I�d rather manage Tottenham than Ronnie.�

Moviemaker JOHN LANDIS is suing MICHAEL JACKSON over cash he never received from the pop superstar’s THRILLER video.
Landis filed suit in Los Angeles last week (ends23Jan09), claiming he has a deal in place with the superstar, in which he’s entitled to 50 per cent of the net profits from the promo he directed and related material.
The suit has hit the headlines as news breaks of big plans to turn Thriller into a stage musical - Jackson has reportedly sold the rights to the video to Nederlander Organization executives, who hope to stage a Broadway spectacular based on the cult promo.
In court documents, the director accuses his old pal of "fraudulent, malicious and oppressive conduct" for failing to pay up.

JULIA ROBERTS’ actress niece EMMA ROBERTS is planning a busy 2009 - because she wants to visit Paris, pass her driving test, fall in love and release a photography book - all before she starts college.
The 17 year old has revealed she has sent off her applications for college, with a view to furthering her education later this year (09) - and that means she has a lot to pack in between now and then.
She says, "I’d love to have a really nice boyfriend. I would love to have been to Paris… I’d love to have my own photography coffee-table book, and I’d love to get my license.
"I got my permit the first try and went to get my license and failed. Then my permit expired. I just got my permit again a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully I’ll get my license soon." Roberts tells USA Today she plans to study photography and literature when she gets to college, but refuses to reveal which schools she’s selected.

Former DESTINY’S CHILD star KELLY ROWLAND has reportedly dumped the man who took her in as a teenager and managed her to pop stardom - former bandmate BEYONCE’s dad.
The singer has parted company with Mathew Knowles following a heated row, according to website Bossip.com.
A highly-placed source in Rowlandâ��s camp tells the website the split has been on the cards for months - because the My Boo hitmaker is unhappy she’s not a bigger star in America.
A spokeswoman for Bossip.com says, "We were told Kelly was really upset that she’s not better represented in the United States. She’s a big hit in Europe, but not in America." Publicists for Knowles and his MusicWorld organisation were unavailable for comment as WENN went to press.

JESSICA ALBA has blasted right-wing TV news pundit BILL O’REILLY after he suggested the actress didn’t know her history on his Fox News programme in America.
The Sin City star took to her MySpace.com blog to defend herself after O’Reilly called her "misguided" for poking fun at a journalist during an inauguration event last week (20Jan09).
The new mum asked the reporter what he liked most about new U.S. President Barack Obama, and when he refused to answer, she joked, "That’s it, be neutral. Be Sweden about it." O’Reilly and website TMZ.com both subsequently ridiculed Alba, insisting she meant Switzerland, not Sweden - but the actress has had the last laugh in cyberspace.
On her blog, she writes, "I find it depressing that, in the midst of perhaps the most salient time in our country’s history, individuals are taking it upon themselves to encourage negativity and stupidity.
"Last week, Mr. Bill O’Reilly and some really classy sites insinuated I was dumb by claiming Sweden was a neutral country. I appreciate the fact that he (O’Reilly) is a news anchor and that gossip sites are inundated with intelligent reporting, but seriously people… it’s so sad to me that you think the only neutral country during WWII was Switzerland.
"I appreciate the name calling and the accurate reporting. Keep it up!" TMZ.com has since apologised for criticising the actress, stating, "She is absolutely correct. Sweden was a neutral country… 60 years ago. We apologise for not considering the political climate of the world in 1942 when we suggested she may have meant, ‘Be Switzerland’ - a country that is currently neutral."

Pop star LILY ALLEN has her sights set on a rich sugar daddy, so she can move out of London and try to start a family again.
The singer suffered a miscarriage at the end of 2006 and then ended her romance with Chemical Brothers star Ed Simons - the father of the baby - but she hasn’t given up on finding happiness in love and as a mum.
She insists she’ll continue making hits for another four years and then she’ll get serious about settling down.
Allen tells Spin magazine, "Then (I’ll) try to find someone to fall in love with, have another go at having children, and move somewhere else. If I had a partner, I’d move now." And the singer is so certain about her ideal man, she could pen a personal ad to find him: "Slightly insecure and needy pop star seeks nice guy… Good sense of humour. Not a f**king retard. Rich."

JOHN TRAVOLTA has been named as a witness in an extortion case in the Bahamas.
The movie star’s aides alerted police to an alleged bid to extort money from Travolta and his wife while the couple was mourning the loss of their teenage son Jett at the beginning of January (09).
Reports suggest an ambulance driver and a high-ranking Bahamian official worked together in an attempt to extort cash from the Travoltas over information related to their son’s death.
The driver, Tarino Lightbourne, was charged with conspiracy to extort on Monday (26Jan09), and now Travolta is expected to testify against him as part of the Bahamian Attorney General’s prosecution case.
He is one of 14 witnesses listed, according to E! News.
No trial date has been set.

JOSH BROLIN was left red-faced during his first scene with co-star RUSSELL CROWE on the set of their movie AMERICAN GANGSTER, when he ripped the seat out of his pants.
Brolin admits he was nervous about acting opposite Oscar winner Crowe in the 2007 film, and the untimely wardrobe malfunction only made things worse.
He explains, "I was a little plumper than I wanted to be. I justified it that the character’s tough and he needs to be plumper. I came to the set they put the wardrobe on me and it was tight.
"I just get through my nerves with Russell, and improvise a little bit. I grab a chair and when I sat down the ass of my pants ripped right open. Usually, that’s a great ice breaker but I did the worst acting I’ve ever done in my life. I was shaking, I was nervous." Brolin feared the accident would cost him his job - and was amazed when director Ridley Scott loved his performance.
He adds, "I got back to my trailer, took off my pants, gave them to wardrobe and went to my trailer waiting to get fired.
"I finally got a knock on the door and Ridley says ‘Josh, I don’t know what you’re doing, but you’re bringing an incredible vulnerability to this role.’ "It was remarkable… I don’t wear pants anymore."

LIONEL RICHIE hates attending friends’ weddings - because the ceremony always becomes about him, no matter how much of a low-profile he keeps.

MATT DAMON missed out on U.S. President BARACK OBAMA’s inauguration day - because he refused to pay the $50,000 (£35,700) for two tickets, just so he could watch the man he helped put into office take the oath.
The actor had hoped his campaign efforts for Obama would secure him tickets for the big event last week (20Jan09) - but his initial request for inauguration seats for himself and his wife Luciana was turned down.
He says, "When I called my contacts from the campaign, they just started laughing: ‘We worked on the campaign for two and a half years, and we’re not going. Forget it.’ "Then, they called me back the next day and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got two tickets for you, in the bleachers, and you’ll actually be able to see Obama take the oath. Just $25,000 apiece.’" But Damon and his wife decided to save the money and watch the inauguration from their home in Florida.

The estate of artist/designer TONY DUQUETTE is suing MICHAEL KORS over claims he used the late California style icon to help sell his new Kors Resort Collection.
Kors namechecked Duquette when he launched his new clothing line in 2008, claiming he had been inspired by his hero - and the dead designer’s family members are far from happy about the connection.
The estate has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Kors, alleging the designer to the stars infringed on the Duquette name and trademark by referring to him.
Duquette died from a heart attack in 1999.

JOAQUIN PHOENIX’s rap career is all part of an elaborate hoax, according to the eccentric movie star’s closest pals.
The two-time Oscar nominee recently announced he was turning his back on acting to follow his musical dreams, and he followed up the shock news with a zany three-song debut as a rapper at a Las Vegas nightclub.
During his performance on 16 January (09), which was captured on film by his actor brother-in-law Casey Affleck, Phoenix appeared to have a public meltdown before falling off the stage.
But pals insist the Walk The Line star knows exactly what he’s doing - and his performance was all part of an "art project".
One close friend tells Entertainment Weekly magazine, "He said, ‘It’s a put-on. I’m going to pretend to have a meltdown and change careers, and Casey is going to film it.’ "It’s an art project for him. He’s going full out. He probably has told his reps that he’s quit acting. Joaquin is very smart. This is very conscious. He has a huge degree of control."

Rapper KANYE WEST refused to seek out professional help to deal with his grief following the death of his mother - because he doesn’t believe in reliving the past.
The Stronger hitmaker lost his mother Donda in November 2007 after she suffered complications from plastic surgery. Shortly afterwards, West and his fiancee Alexis Pfeiffer broke off their engagement and parted ways.
The rapper took time out of the spotlight to grieve his loss and his love split - but insists he never considered talking to a psychiatrist at any point during that tragic period, preferring instead to get through it day by day.
He tells Vibe magazine, "I don’t believe in therapy. I believe in you gotta walk it out, you gotta live it out. Life has its ups and downs. And sometimes you sprain an ankle, you have to walk it out, like back in the day in summer camp. Walk it out. And sometimes you have to cry it out.
"What’s good for me is I have the opportunity to sing these songs. But I don’t believe in sitting down with a shrink. And I don’t believe in medication or painkillers."

PAMELA ANDERSON and PINK’s favourite animal rights group PETA’s latest TV ad has been blocked from debuting during the Super Bowl telecast on Sunday (01Feb09) - because it’s too naughty.
The saucy commercial, aimed at encouraging sportsmen and women to go veggie, features lingerie-clad models caressing broccoli spears and kissing a pumpkin.
But bosses at TV network NBC, the channel airing the big game, have ruled the ad is too too racy for Super Bowl audiences, and they’ve benched the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ (PETA) commercial.
NBC Universal vice president of advertising standards, Victoria Morgan, states, "The PETA spot submitted to Advertising Standards depicts a level of sexuality exceeding our standards." But PETA bosses contend the 30-second spot, which carries the message, "Studies Show: Vegetarians Have Better Sex", should never have been axed - and they fear there’s another reason behind the ban.
Group Senior Vice President Lisa Lange says, "PETA designed the commercial to add balance to the traditional onslaught of Super Bowl commercials for meaty, greasy, and factory-farmed fast food, including those run by KFC. The fast-food giant is a major NBC sponsor, and a target of heavy PETA campaigning as a result of its failure to reform cruel animal welfare practices and slaughter methods.
"PETA is asking if this relationship could have something to do with NBC’s decision to nix the group’s ad.
"PETA’s veggie ads are locked out while ads for fried chicken and burgers are allowed - even though these foods make Americans fat, sick, and boring in bed." PETA spokesman Michael McGraw adds, "The bottom line is, the ad is a fun, tongue-in cheek way of calling attention to the healthy, sexy, and humane reasons for switching to a vegetarian diet."

Fun-loving Oscars host HUGH JACKMAN has given pal NICOLE KIDMAN a pass at the Academy Awards - he won’t be poking fun at her.
The actor, who teamed up with Kidman in Australia, insists the actress can rest assured she won’t be facing any embarrassment at the Oscars - because he knows she’ll be mortified if he picks on her.

CHRISTINA AGUILERA is set to shock guests visiting her new Beverly Hills pad - if artistic husband JORDAN BRATMAN gets his way.
The record label executive was spotted checking out shock artist Cleon Peterson’s latest show at the New Image Art gallery in West Hollywood on Monday (26Jan09) - with a view to filling the home he and his pop star wife bought from The Osbournes with images of rape, mugging and brutality.
One gallery regular who witnessed Bratman’s art interest says, "It was clear he was there to check out Peterson’s The Occupation exhibition, which opened last week (ends23Jan09).
"The artist’s pieces look colourful and interesting from a distance, and closer inspection shows scenes of street violence. It’s quite disturbing.
"He left the gallery without buying anything, but you could tell he was very interested. Maybe Christina will have to OK his strange choice in art before he buys."
