Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

JAMES BRADY, the journalist who created the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column and Parade magazine’s popular In Step With… interviews, has died.
Brady, 80, also wrote for Women’s Wear Daily, for which he was once a publisher, and regularly contributed to New York magazine.
He passed away on Monday (26Jan09) at his home in Manhattan.
The journalist also served as Vice President/publisher of fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar, but was sacked for his modern style and controversial ideas. He later edited U.S. tabloid the Star.
He was also a celebrated author, having written The Coldest War and Why Marines Fight, among other books, about the Korean War and his experiences as a veteran of the conflict and a decorated war hero.
And Brady tasted TV success with a 1960s U.S. talk show, which became the first cable programme nominated for and to win several Emmys, including one for the host.
His final success came with his weekly look at celebrity in Parade, which debuted in 2006 and ran until his death.
His final interview for the Sunday supplement - with the actor Kevin Bacon - will be published on 15 February (09).
