Former DESTINY’S CHILD star KELLY ROWLAND has confirmed reports she has parted ways with manager MATHEW KNOWLES, but insists they will always remain "family".
The Dilemma singer was first reported to have dumped Knowles, the father of her best pal and former bandmate Beyonce, on Tuesday (27Jan09) after a heated row.
Rowland was allegedly unhappy she is not a bigger star in America, while her career continues to flourish in Europe.
But Knowles has dismissed the claims of an angry exchange, insisting they have parted on friendly terms.
A statement issued by Knowles reads: "After a very positive meeting between Kelly Rowland and myself, we have amicably agreed to end our professional relationship.
"My company, Music World, will continue to manage Destiny’s Child as a group. As an artist Kelly has incredible talent and I only wish her the best. We will always be family first and foremost, and, as a dad, I only have love for Kelly." And Rowland is equally as complimentary in her post-split statement, saying: "Mathew Knowles has been a positive influence in my career. I have had great success under his guidance - both as a member of Destiny’s Child and with my solo projects.
"Although we have decided to part ways professionally, the Knowles family and the entire Music World Entertainment team will always be my family."

KELLY CLARKSON will set pop chart records in America on Thursday (29Jan09) when she makes the largest leap to number one in Billboard Hot 100 history.
Clarkson is expected to be crowned queen of the charts when her single My Life Would Suck Without You climbs a staggering 96 spots on the chart to get to the top.
The tune, which debuted at a lowly 97 a week ago, has rocketed up the countdown thanks to digital download sales of more than 280,000.
And the new record is one Clarkson has set before - her American Idol victory song, A Moment Like This, jumped up 51 places to number one in October 2002.
The current record leap belongs to Britney Spears, who jumped 95 spots to get to number one with Womanizer last year (08).

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE star FREIDA PINTO has found two Oscar winning superstars to mentor her through her first Academy Awards experience - KATE WINSLET and ANGELINA JOLIE.
Both stars have offered the Indian actress words of advice and wisdom on the red carpets of a series of glitzy prizegivings - and Pinto feels sure she can go to the Hollywood leading ladies if she has any questions or concerns.

Stylish ANGELINA JOLIE has sparked a new Hollywood fashion trend after wearing a MAX AZRIA dress backwards to the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (25Jan09).

JESSICA SIMPSON is facing a $10 million (£7 million) breach of contract lawsuit over an unreleased workout DVD.
The singer filmed an exercise video for fitness company Speedfit in 2005, but the shoot quickly became a shambles after Simpson allegedly turned up to the studio "tipsy".
And her manager-father Joe reportedly refused to sign off on the project, preventing the Speedfit bosses from releasing the DVD.
And now company owner Alex Astilean is taking legal action to settle the score.
An insider tells Radaronline.com, "Jessica was a mess during that shoot.
"They asked her to come back and reshoot, but she refused, and that’s why she’s facing a lawsuit now."

TAYLOR SWIFT has scored an eighth week at the top of the U.S. album chart, despite sales of just 63,000.
The country singer’s album Fearless debuted at the top last year (08) and remained America’s number one throughout Christmas and the New Year, keeping Beyonce’s I Am… Sasha Fierce rooted to the number two spot for much of her reign.
Beyonce’s still at two this week.
Nickelback’s Dark Horse also stays put at three, while Kanye West’s 808s and Heartbreak jumps a spot to four and the soundtrack to Twilight rounds out the new top five.

The rocker’s Simmons Records will operate under the Universal Music Canada banner - and he insists his latest business venture is only for acts north of America.

OZZY OSBOURNE has sent his hellraising daughter KELLY to the tough boot-camp-style rehab clinic where he kicked his addictions to alcohol and drugs.
The 24-year-old checked into the Hazelden Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center in Oregon last week (21Jan09), just days after she was arrested for slapping a British reporter.
Her mum Sharon confirmed the news on Friday, explaining, "Yeah, she’s in rehab. Kelly knew that she needed help and she’s getting it." Hazelden, which has clinics in Minnesota, Oregon, Illinois and New York, offers addicts "abstinence-based treatment" and "spiritual care".
But Kelly can expect a different experience from her last time in rehab - a spell in Malibu, California’s Promises Clinic - where she was treated in 2004 for an addiction to painkillers.
Ozzy has revealed in the past he is still haunted by his time at Hazelden, where he was allegedly abused by staff who promoted a regime of "tough love".
In a past Playboy interview, he claimed Hazelden was the hardest rehab he ever encountered during his long battle with drug and alcohol addiction.
Ozzy said, "Hazelden, in Minnesota, is a really hard one. They do not f**k around. I checked out because it scared me. They use a thing called tough love, where they’re like, ‘You f**king piece of s**t.’ I was like, ‘I felt like a piece of s**t before. That’s why I am paying you all this money. You don’t need to tell me every day.’" A source tells WENN, "Ozzy hated his time in Hazelden and it must have been hard sending his daughter there, knowing how tough staff are with patients. But he is determined that she doesn’t follow the same path he has. He wants her to be happy and healthy." The Osbournes aren’t the only stars to seek help at Hazelden. Sixties singer Marianne Faithfull credits the centre with getting her "off heroin" and past patients are rumoured to have included Eric Clapton, Liza Minnelli, Melanie Griffith, Matthew Perry, Bobby Brown, Natalie Cole and designer Calvin Klein.

Australian rocker BEN LEE and his new wife, actress IONE SKYE, celebrated their recent Hindu nuptials by exchanging vows in a second wedding ceremony at their Los Angeles home in front of friends and family.
The couple wed in late December (08) in a traditional ceremony in India.
But they wanted to make sure their union was legal in the U.S. and held a low-key party back in California earlier this month (Jan09).
Lee tells Us Weekly magazine, "We played ‘Here Comes the Bride’ off (music download website) iTunes.

Pop superstar CHER has joined the fight to relocate Los Angeles Zoo’s beloved elephant to a new home after taking part in a march on city officials on Wednesday (28Jan09).
The singer/actress joined former U.S. TV game show host Bob Barker, among others, when she urged L.A. City Council bigwigs to halt the development of a new elephant habitat and use the cash to move pachyderm Billy.
But Cher, Barker and fellow celebrity animal lover Lily Tomlin, who are leading the charge to find Billy a new sanctuary home, face tough opposition - from rocker Slash.
The former Guns N’ Roses star recently applauded plans for the new elephant house at the zoo, insisting he’ll be a regular visitor.
Slash said, "Billy has been taken care of at the zoo for about 20 years. He has four keepers, who have been at his beck and call, taking care of him and providing him with optimal medical care and everything else that he needs.
"This enclosure is one of the nicest enclosures he could possibly have… It’s really well done. It gives the elephants an amazing amount of room to move around. I’m a huge advocate of this particular exhibit." Tomlin is opposed to the plans. Last year (08), she said, "The habitat (at the zoo) is simply not big enough, and no habitat in a zoo is big enough for an elephant… They are mammoth and majestic and beautiful and sensitive, and, for generations, we have put elephants in zoos.
"Billy himself lives on about a quarter of an acre for more than 20 years and it’s just not humane and it’s not rational or responsible.
"Elephants have to walk 30 to 40 miles a day just to keep healthy and that’s one of the reasons why they suffer so much in zoos and develop abscesses of the feet and terrible arthritis. They also develop great mental problems; psychologically they’re depressed."

PATRICK SWAYZE’s mother is calling on the actor’s fans to pray for him as he battles pancreatic cancer.
The Dirty Dancing star was diagnosed with the deadly disease in early 2008, and he has been making steady progress since undergoing treatment.
However, he suffered a slight setback earlier this month (Jan09) when he was admitted to hospital with pneumonia, spending a week at a Californian medical centre.
He’s now back at home, but his mum Patsy, 81, wants devotees to keep him in their thoughts.
She tells America’s Star magazine, "Patrick is strong, and he’s determined to beat this! Please tell everyone to keep us in their prayers. Pray for Patrick. I know he has a lot of fans out there thinking about him, and we all appreciate that.
"Patrick is feeling a lot better since he got out of the hospital."

Pregnant actress ANNE HECHE is reportedly urging her married actor boyfriend JAMES TUPPER to divorce his wife - so they can welcome their first child together as a legitimate couple.

They went public with their romance in 2007, after Heche filed for divorce from her then-husband, Coley Laffoon, the father of her six-year-old son Homer.

A source tells America’s Star magazine, "Anne has told him that it’s gone on long enough. She wants it finished.

The former Bahamas senator arrested over an alleged plot to extort money from movie star JOHN TRAVOLTA has been arraigned on two charges in the case, days after vowing to prove her innocence.
Pleasant Bridgewater was arrested last Thursday (22Jan09) for her alleged involvement in plans to extort money from Travolta and his wife while the couple was mourning the loss of their teenage son Jett at the beginning of January (09).
She resigned from her post on 25 January (09), insisting she would fight the "untrue and unfair charges" against her.
Bridgewater was charged in court on Wednesday (28Jan09) with "abetment to extort and conspiracy to extort", following accusations she conspired with an ambulance driver to release a document related to the 16-year-old’s death.
Emergency medical technician (EMT) Tarino Lightbourne has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempting to extort and conspiracy to extort from the movie star after being charged on Monday (26Jan09).
Travolta is one of 14 witnesses expected to testify as part of the Bahamian Attorney General’s prosecution case.
Under Bahamian law, Bridgewater was not required to enter a plea.
She is next scheduled to appear in court on 11 February (09).

MARIAH CAREY has hit out at claims she left BARACK OBAMA’s inauguration ceremony because organisers wouldn’t allow her onstage with the President - insisting over-enthusiastic fans forced her to flee for her own safety.
The singer was reported to have walked away from the Washington D.C. event on 20 January (09) after discovering she would be sat with other celebrities, instead of standing alongside Obama on the podium.
A source told the New York Post, "Mariah was in the VIP area, where every celebrity, like Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, was seated.
"But somehow she thought she’d be up with the Obama family. When she realised she wasn’t, she bailed." But the singer has spoken out to silence the gossip, insisting she and her husband Nick Cannon were hounded out of their spot in the crowd by fans.
Carey’s representative tells People magazine, "When she and Nick arrived in their section, she was surrounded by fans, but unfortunately it caused too much of a ruckus and it became a little unsafe. She was then escorted to safety by police."

DREW BARRYMORE has fuelled speculation she’ll snag a fourth lady for another CHARLIE’S ANGELS movie after naming PENELOPE CRUZ as her dream castmate.
Barrymore, who produced the first two films with her partner Nancy Juvonen, recently sent the rumour mill into overdrive when she admitted she would be "so into" reprising her role as a sexy secret agent with co-stars Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz.

(Co-producer Nancy Juvonen) and I and all the people involved are the ones who have to figure it out and make it happen, but we would love to."
