WINEHOUSE FACES LABEL CRISIS TALKS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:33 pm

Troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE’s record label has sent an official to her luxurious Caribbean resort in an attempt to straighten out her hedonistic lifestyle.
Bosses at Universal Records jetted commercial director Brian Rose to island paradise Saint Lucia for showdown talks, after the 25-year-old star was snapped drinking heavily and begging for beer from fellow hotel guests.
And witnesses have told British newspaper The Sun that the Rehab hitmaker has been spending as much as $10,870 (£8,000) on food and drink for strangers.
A label source told the tabloid, "Brian has been told to drive some common sense into Amy and find out what the hell is going on.
"There don’t seem to be any solid plans for new music. But Universal is a business and it needs to know what is happening to one of its biggest talents." Universal confirms Rose is meeting Winehouse to discuss future projects.

ALLEN DEMANDS GOOD SEX FROM HER MEN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

LILY ALLEN has set the bar high for potential lovers - if they don’t satisfy her in bed, she’ll dump them.
The British singer admits she has no time for poor performances in the bedroom and she even sings about one boyfriend she had to let go in new song It’s Not Fair.
She says, "I’m not going to suffer with a man who doesn’t care about giving me pleasure." And the Smile star tells Spin magazine she blames decades of women faking orgasms for giving men the idea they’re OK in bed: "I think the orgasm problem is as much women’s fault as men’s. We fake orgasms, which gives men the impression that what they are doing is sufficient, which, quite frankly, it isn’t."

CRUISE QUIZZED OVER FLATULENCE HABITS ON U.K. TV

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:30 pm

TOM CRUISE suffered another red-faced TV appearance on Friday night (23Jan09) after he was forced to sing and was quizzed about his flatulence habits by controversial British host JONATHAN ROSS.
Cruise appeared on disgraced U.K. TV personality Ross’ comeback chatshow which returned to British screens after a three month hiatus.
Ross was suspended by bosses at the BBC after he and comic Russell Brand were slammed for leaving "grossly offensive" voicemail messages on former Fawlty Towers star Andrew Sachs’ answer machine during a live radio broadcast in October (08).
Cruise - who was in Britain promoting his latest film Valkyrie - was roped in to appear on the show in a bid to entice viewers to tune in.
But the Hollywood superstar was left squirming in his seat as Ross ordered him to showcase his vocal talents after he admitted he would love to appear in a big screen musical.
An embarrassed Cruise muttered an expletive before belting out a line from Elvis Presley’s hit Hound Dog and then jokingly pretending to make his exit from the show.
And the awkward demands didn’t stop there - Ross went on to ask a stunned Cruise if he passed wind while sharing a bed with wife Katie Holmes.
It’s not the first time Cruise has performed an Elvis Presley tune on a top-rated chatshow - he left The Tonight Show’s Jay Leno speechless after breaking into a rendition of The King’s hit Blue Suede Shoes in December (08).

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button star is up for the Best Supporting Actress gong at this year’s (09) Academy Awards.

Asked by the Daily Beast website if she is inundated with new roles, she says: "Actually… no. I can’t wait to write my memoir someday and talk about this moment in my life - my name is being bounced around the Oscars, Golden Globes, and all these awards, it’s incredible. And I don’t have a job.
Nothing.
"The industry is really slow right now because of the pending strike, so I am at a standstill. It’s funny that I have all these things going on and no work in sight. It’s very shaky out here."

BOYLE URGED TO SHARE OSCAR NOD

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:21 pm

A leading U.S. women’s campaigner has launched an online protest demanding SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE filmmaker DANNY BOYLE shares this year’s (09) Best Director nomination with his female co-director.
Jan Lisa Huttner, of pressure group Audience Supporting Women Artists Now (ASWAN), began her campaign for the joint nomination after Boyle labelled co-director Loveleen Tandan’s contribution to the Mumbai-based box office smash "indispensable". Yet Tandan’s name does not appear on the Academy Awards ballot paper.
Huttner - who is also a film critic - claims the oversight is symptomatic of a wider gender divide in Hollywood. Yet she admits it is ultimately Boyle’s decision to share the prestigious gong.
She says, "Women find it harder to be able to make films and have their films seen. That’s why this is such an important issue." Only one person may be named on the ballot, yet last year Joel and Ethan Coen chose to jointly accept the honour for their hit No Country For Old Men.
And Huttner pressured Boyle by saying of the brothers, "They waive the rules at their own discretion." However Tandan, who rewrote the film’s script in Hindi and filmed some scenes herself, insisted Boyle’s nomination was fair.
She says, "My credit is not ‘Directed by’. It is ‘Co-Director (India)’. I am greatly honoured by the credit I have been accorded.
"It would be a great injustice if the credit I have should have the effect of diminishing Danny Boyle’s magnificent achievement."

TRUJILLO’S FAMILY GANG WARFARE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:21 pm

Family get-togethers were dangerous affairs for METALLICA rocker ROBERT TRUJILLO growing up - his cousins were all in rival California gangs.
The bassist was born and raised in Culver City, California, and most of his cousins were involved in gang-related violence - often clashing with members of their own family from a neighbouring city.
Trujillo tells MetalHammer.co.uk about his upbringing: "It was interesting. A lot of my cousins were in gangs. Some of them were in gangs in Culver City, and some of them were in gangs in Venice.
"If you’re from California you’ll know that those two cities don’t get along.
It made family get-togethers interesting. You couldn’t always have the same people there, let’s put it that way."

CRONIN REVEALS HEARTBREAK OVER HEWITT SPLIT

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 3:21 pm

Former L.F.O. frontman RICH CRONIN has spoken out about his failed fling with actress JENNIFER LOVE HEWITT - insisting he was "the girl" in their relationship.
The singer, whose band had a hit with Summer Girls, dated the Ghost Whisperer actress for two years and admits he expected to spend the rest of his life with the star.
But he was left devastated after he found out Hewitt had given a ring to 98 Degrees singer Jeff Timmons - the same gift she had bestowed upon him.
Speaking on Howard Stern’s radio show, Cronin says, "She gave me a ring. She goes, ‘Listen, I want to marry you. We’re going to be together forever’.
"(Then) Jeff goes, ‘Hey, you and me have something in common… Jennifer Love Hewitt’. I had always asked her about that. ‘Did you ever get with this guy?’ (And she was like) ‘No, no, no.’ "So when that happened, I was lost. This was two years ago. It was rough, man." And Cronin - now a successful songwriter - was dealt another blow by the actress, when he read in U.S. tabloid Us Weekly that she allegedly had been dating a string of men behind his back.
He explains, "She was in New York doing a movie, and I get a phone call from someone at my record company. They go, ‘Rich, get Us Weekly. It just came out.’ (I’m thinking) maybe there is something cool about me.
"No, it was a f**king thing about Jennifer Love Hewitt in New York City…
with seven guys.
"I was on the bed having a panic attack, so I called her up and was like, ‘Do you have something to say to me?’. I was the girl in this relationship.
"And she goes, ‘Listen, don’t you f**king call me up like this when I am at work. If you believe that bulls**t, shame on you.’ She hung up." Hewitt recently split from fiance Ross McCall, but they are "working things out", according to the Scottish actor.

LILY ALLEN WAS BABY BAIT FOR DAD’S DRUG BUSINESS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

Pop star LILY ALLEN was introduced to a life of crime at just eight years old when her actor father KEITH ALLEN used her cute looks to help him sell amyl nitrate.
The Smile singer reveals her dad took her to the Glastonbury Festival in England, where he sold drugs to music fans.
She tells Spin magazine, "I was a cute baby, which brought in a few customers, I suppose." And daddy dearest used his daughter again to help him make money in London when she was growing up - the actor would persuade Allen and her brother Alfie to steal his ex-wife’s pots and pans, so he could sell them.
The singer recalls, "We’d sell them at Portobello Market.
"I discussed this with my mum a few months ago, and she thought he was stealing them for his flat, when actually he was stealing them for food money."

HANKS APOLOGISES FOR BASHING MORMONS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 2:51 am

Actor TOM HANKS has apologised to the Mormon community, after slamming some followers "un-American" for backing the gay marriage ban in California.
Hanks hit out at members of the faith involved in the push to pass Proposition 8, which outlawed same sex unions in the state.
He said, "The truth is that a lot of Mormons gave a lot of money to the church to make Prop-8 happen. There are a lot of people who feel that is un-American and I am one of them." High-ranking members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints have since hit back, with one spokeswoman telling Fox News, "Expressing an opinion in a free and democratic society is as American as it gets." The outcry from Mormon groups has prompted Hanks to rethink his comments, and, in a statement to People.com, the actor writes, "Last week, I labeled members of the Mormon church who supported California’s Proposition 8 as ‘un-American.’ I believe Proposition 8 is counter to the promise of our Constitution; it is codified discrimination.
"But everyone has a right to vote their conscience - nothing could be more American. To say members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who contributed to Proposition 8 are ‘un-American’ creates more division when the time calls for respectful disagreement. No one should use ‘un-American’ lightly or in haste. I did. I should not have." Ironically, Hanks is an executive producer for controversial U.S. series Big Love - about a group of polygamist Mormons.
