HILTON TO BE REUNITED WITH CAMERA

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:30 pm

Socialite PARIS HILTON is breathing a sigh of relief after the camera she lost in an Australian nightclub was found.
The heiress rang in 2009 at the Trademark venue in Sydney, and during the New Year festivities she became separated from the gadget, which contained hundreds of personal photographs.
Hilton feared the device would have fallen into the wrong hands - but it was recovered in the club on Thursday (15Jan09).
A spokeswoman for the New Year’s Eve event says, "The camera was found at the Trademark on (Thursday) and it’s now on the way to Paris."

  • LEDGER’S ADVICE FOR LOHAN

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

Late actor HEATH LEDGER once warned LINDSAY LOHAN about the dangers of letting her celebrity status overshadow her acting career.
Lohan has become known as a notorious party girl in recent years, and has endured numerous legal troubles including two arrests for driving under the influence (DUI) and a stint in rehab to fight her addictions.
The Mean Girls star admits she has subsequently lost out on many movie roles because film bosses were too concerned about her party antics to hire her.
And Lohan has revealed it was tragic star Ledger, who died last year (08), who first pointed out to her that the press coverage of her social life could damage her career prospects.
She tells Interview magazine, "People really have come to believe directors, producers, agents, whoever it may be - that I started in this because I wanted to be a celebrity. But that was never my intention.
"Heath Ledger once said something about this to me. He said: ‘It’s build-you-up to knock-you-down, and that’s all it is. And you just have to see if you can stand through it.’ And it is like that, if you put yourself in this situation."

  • NOTH CERTAIN OF SEX AND THE CITY SEQUEL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:27 pm

Actor CHRIS NOTH is convinced plans for a SEX AND THE CITY: THE MOVIE sequel will come to fruition - because studio bosses are eager to cash in on the box office success of the first film.
Noth’s on-screen love interest, Sarah Jessica Parker, confirmed in November (08) there will be a follow-up to the hit big screen adaptation of the longrunning U.S. TV show - after the first movie grossed over $400 million (£275 million) last summer (08).
And despite co-star Cynthia Nixon insisting nothing is definite until the cast have signed their contracts, Noth is sure that the sequel will happen because of the huge amount of money the franchise produces.
He tells Hollyscoop.com, "I bet there will be another one. Too many executives want too much money."

  • GOLDBERG EMBARRASSED BY BROLIN MIX UP

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

Comedic actress WHOOPI GOLDBERG was left red-faced while hosting a recent movie awards ceremony - after she introduced JOSH BROLIN as his famous father, JAMES.
The Oscar-winner presented Wednesday (14Jan09) night’s 100th annual National Board of Review of Motion Pictures ceremony in New York, where she mixed up the W star with his dad, Emmy Award-winning actor/director James Brolin.
And when Brolin took to the stage to collect his Best Supporting Actor gong for Milk, he laughed off the gaff, telling the audience: "That’s how f***ing famous I am! I just whispered in her ear, ‘What’s the matter with you?’ She said, ‘I don’t know - I’m high!’" But Goldberg insisted on making up for the misstep, quickly adding, "I want to apologise to Josh Brolin. Josh. Josh. Josh. Not James. I don’t know what happened - I do know how to say his name. I’m sorry."

  • BACHCHAN DENIES CRITICISM OF SLUMDOG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

Indian screen idol AMITABH BACHCHAN has denied criticising the makers of Golden Globe winning film SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE.
The Bollywood icon was quoted as writing on his official internet blog that the movie, a rags-to-riches tale which was shot in Mumbai, India, projected his home country as a "third world dirty underbelly." But Bachchan has denied writing the comment - claiming he posted negative and positive opinions from other people about the film in order to generate a debate.
The star writes on his blog, "What a colossal joke this is all turning out to be! Without reading the text of my blog or the purpose behind mention of ‘SlumDog’ an entire machinery of abuse has been directed towards me.
"Fact is - someone mentioned the film on my blog. Some expressed opinion for it, some against. And yes, they contained some strong assumptions. I merely put both of them up and invited debate." Directed by Brit Danny Boyle and based on Indian diplomat Vikas Swarip’s book, Slumdog Millionaire has been a huge hit - it picked up four Golden Globe awards on Sunday (11Jan09), is nominated for 11 gongs at the upcoming British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards (BAFTAs) and is a favourite to win at the Oscars next month (Feb09).

  • THE BEAUTIFUL SOUTH TO REFORM

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:24 pm

British band THE BEAUTIFUL SOUTH are reuniting - minus three of their original members.
The pop group, who formed in 1989 before splitting in 2007, are relaunching as The New Beautiful South - but founding member Paul Heaton, guitarist David Rotheray and bassist Sean Welch won’t be rejoining the line-up.
The new formation of the band consists of singers David Hemingway and Alison Wheeler, and drummer David Stead - who are excited at the prospect of their comeback.
Stead says, "We never really split up - all that happened was Paul made the decision to leave. But Dave, Alison and I wanted to continue. We’ve been twiddling our thumbs for a while, but this is what we do best.
"There are still an awful lot of people out there who want to hear our music and we still want to play it. We’re going to be playing all our greatest hits and the old favourites along with a few new songs." The group are set to play their first gig in Hull, England on 29 March (09).

  • LOVE’S ALBUM INSPIRED BY REHAB

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:22 pm

Troubled rocker COURTNEY LOVE was so inspired by her time in a drugs rehabilitation centre, she penned tracks for her forthcoming album whilst receiving treatment.
The former Hole frontwoman, who has long struggled with substance abuse, spent three months in a lock down clinic in 2005 for violating a drug probation order, and a further three months under house arrest.
Love put her time in recovery to good use - by writing eight songs based on her experiences in rehab for her forthcoming album Nobody’s Daughter.
And she is convinced the material is better than anything she produced for her first solo LP, America’s Sweetheart, in 2004.
She tells Heeb magazine, "There’s like more singles than I f**king know what to do with on this record. It’s taken from rehab. I started in rehab, writing this record in earnest.
"My last record was a complete disaster. It sucked. It was horrible. It had horrible art and half-baked songs. There’s one song on there I actually force myself to listen to, because you know, we are measured by our failures, and it was more than a failure.
"I knew it sucked when I was making it, and I continued to make it, instead of just saying, ‘Stop’.”

Pop star PINK resorted to anger management classes to help her deal with her split from husband CAREY HART.
The couple parted ways last February (08) after two years of marriage and the singer has admitted she found the break-up tough.
But Pink - real name Alecia Moore - decided to enrol on a course to help her deal with bouts of rage in a positive way.
She says, "Anger is the most necessary emotion. I took a class called Demystifying Anger a couple of months ago. I learned so much. That anger is a survival instinct and we’re meant to feel it - a fight or flight kind of deal.
If expressed in the right way, anger is the most healthy feeling you can have."

ASHTON KUTCHER and DEMI MOORE are releasing a film of more than 50 Hollywood stars pledging to support U.S. President-elect BARACK OBAMA’s call for unity across America.

  • END IN SIGHT FOR HIT SHOW 24

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:36 pm

KIEFER SUTHERLAND’s groundbreaking TV drama 24 is set to end after season eight - paving the way for a big screen adaptation.
The cult series, in which Sutherland stars as federal agent Jack Bauer, is currently in its seventh season.
And executive producer Howard Gordon intends to axe it after one more series - but only to enable him to make a big-budget movie version.
He says, "My hope is to go after the eighth season. That’s sort of what we’re aiming for. I don’t think that a big-screen 24 works while Jack is on TV." And Sutherland has warned fans not to expect a happy ending for his character.
He says, "I see Jack as a really human figure and there is something innately tragic about people. I think there is no winning. We’re all going to die.
There’s something kind of sad in that, and yet there’s something really beautiful and hopeful."
