DEAD SET FOR BIG OBAMA GIG
Rockers THE DEAD will perform at BARACK OBAMA’s inauguration (20Jan09) just a week after confirming their first tour in five years.
The group, formerly the Grateful Dead, will be among the headliners at the Mid-Atlantic Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C.
Thrilled Dead rocker Mickey Hart says, "It’s a long, strange trip! He (Barack Obama) picked us specifically, so it was quite an honour. There was a shortlist and we made the cut."
