STALLONE PAID ROURKE TO BE IN GET CARTER

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:45 am

SYLVESTER STALLONE was so determined to land MICKEY ROURKE a role in his GET CARTER remake he offered him double when the ANGEL HEART star turned him down.
Stallone asked Rourke to play the villain in the film after meeting him in a restaurant, during a low point in the struggling actor’s career.
Rourke was desperate to land the part but the money was so "disrespectful" his agent insisted he turn the film down, prompting Stallone to boost the pay cheque.
Arriving on set, a Stallone assistant told the Golden Globe winner, "Sly really wanted you to be in the movie, and that asshole producer wouldn’t pay for it." Rourke tells Men’s Journal magazine that Stallone himself dug deep for the pay hike.
