PAGE MANAGER: ‘LED ZEPPELIN ARE OVER’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 11:21 pm

Plans for JIMMY PAGE and JOHN PAUL JONES to hit the road as LED ZEPPELIN in 2009 have been scrapped - because the rockers can’t find a singer to replace ROBERT PLANT.
Just a day after Peter Mensch, a spokesman for Page’s management firm, defended the rock duo’s plans to tour without their famous frontman, he is now attempting to end the speculation about a semi-reunion by telling Music Radar Led Zeppelin is "completely over".
Mensch says, "Led Zeppelin are over! If you didn’t see them in 2007, you missed them. It’s done. I can’t be any clearer than that… There are absolutely no plans for them to continue. Zero. Frankly, I wish everybody would stop talking about it." Page and Jones were hoping to follow up a reunion show they performed in London at the end of 2007 with new shows, but Plant, who has since found success with musical partner Alison Krauss, had no interest in touring with his former bandmates.
And, despite reports Alter Bridge star Myles Kennedy had been drafted in to replace Plant, Mensch insists all reunion plans have been scrapped.
He reveals the band auditioned singers but "no one worked out".

CRAIG STEPS IN TO SAVE BELL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

JAMES BOND star DANIEL CRAIG proved himself a true hero when he used his clout to halt the filming of new movie DEFIANCE - after co-star JAMIE BELL fell ill onset.
The pair was shooting outdoor scenes for the war drama on location in Lithuania when the freezing conditions sent Billy Elliot actor Bell close to hypothermia.
And concerned Craig stepped in, ordering producers to stop filming so his 23-year-old co-star could head to his trailer to warm up.
Bell says, "The conditions were ripe for a bout of, ‘I’m not f**king doing this!’ but the closest we got was Daniel standing up for me one day in the rain at the end of October, it was absolutely freezing.
"My body started to lose control, going into hypothermic shock, I think. He said, ‘We have to stop, he’s starting to freak out and he’s going to die’. He used his Hollywood power for good.
"It’s daft, because you do have to be butch in the presence of Bond, but Daniel has a really good heart and said, ‘You need to take a second and then come back’. He’s very much the leader that he portrays in this film."

ROCK CHALLENGES JUDGE TO VISIT IRAQ

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:36 pm

KID ROCK is still fuming about a court ruling banning him from serving a community service sentence entertaining U.S. troops overseas - he’s now urging the judge responsible to spend time in Iraq himself.
Rock - real name Robert Ritchie - was handed an 80 hour sentence following a fight in a Waffle House restaurant in Georgia in 2007.
He requested he be able to serve the sentence performing to soldiers stationed in Iraq, but Judge Alvin T. Wong banned him, insisting, "Giving him credit for something he would otherwise love to do in front of a camera completely defeats the punitive purpose of performing community service." Rock was furious and has even posted Judge Wong’s contact details online.
And now he’s urging the lawman to experience life in a warzone for himself.
The star tells TMZ.com, "He said it’s not community service. Well I do community service all year long. I help people with autism, Aids, fallen heroes.
"If he wanted to punish me, he should have put me in jail, but he didn’t. If he loves to practise law, why doesn’t he go and practise f**king law in Iraq for a month, if he’s so badass. If he wants to prove something to me.
"There ain’t (sic) no bigger community service than going to play for our soldiers."

LOHAN LIMITS CHARITY WORK DUE TO PAPARAZZI INTRUSION

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 8:33 pm

Actress LINDSAY LOHAN has blasted the media for criticising her whenever she tries to do some good for charity, because the press dismisses her efforts as "publicity stunts".
Lohan has become a tabloid favourite since shooting to Hollywood stardom in 2004’s Mean Girls at the age of 18.
But the press turned against her in 2007 after the party girl found herself facing a number of legal troubles, including two arrests for driving under the influence (DUI) and a stint in rehab to fight drug addiction.
And Lohan, who insists her wild lifestyle is now a thing of the past, is angry the unwanted paparazzi attention has forced her to scale back on her charitable gestures.
She tells America’s Interview magazine, "You know what’s hard? I want to give back. I want to do all the things that will make me feel fulfilled.
"But whenever I do those things, people think it’s a press stunt or something. Because they (paparazzi) do find me, and there’s really no way of hiding from that.
"And the second that you complain about it, they say, ‘Well, this is what you wanted, so this is what you’re going to get.’ That’s all people see it as now.
It’s not, ‘No, I just want to have some time for myself.’ There are things I want to do, and people don’t understand that."
