Rap superstar SNOOP DOGG is following in the footsteps of pal DR. DRE - he’s releasing his own line of headphones.
The Drop It Like It’s Hot hitmaker, real name Calvin Broadus, is teaming up with audio company Skullcandy for the ‘extreme bass amplified headphone’, which will be part of the firm’s artist collaboration line.
The Beastie Boys DJ, Mix Master Mike, is also developing a line with Skullcandy.
Dr. Dre released the Beats by Dr. Dre range last July (08).

ANNE HATHAWAY, SEAN PENN and LEONARDO DiCAPRIO were among the winners at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala in California on Tuesday (06Jan09) night.
A host of Hollywood’s big names turned out for the 20th annual awards ceremony, which saw Penn and Hathaway each presented with the Desert Palm Achievement Award.
Stiller was on hand to introduce Meet the Fockers co-star Hoffman as he claimed the Chairman’s Award, while DiCaprio took to the stage on behalf of his Revolutionary Road co-stars as they were awarded the Ensemble Performance prize.
Filmmaker Ron Howard received the Director’s Lifetime Achievement Award from Frost/Nixon star Frank Langella, and the legendary Clint Eastwood picked up the Career Achievement Award.
But the acting veteran admitted he was finding it difficult being in the spotlight again, saying: "Once in a while it’s fine. But, after a while, you go blind by the time they hit you with about 400 flashbulbs."

Singer/actresses BEYONCE KNOWLES, JENNIFER HUDSON and ALICIA KEYS are leading the way at the 2009 NAACP Image Awards with two nominations each.
The three beauties will compete for Outstanding Female Music Artist and Best Music Video, while they are also up for Best Supporting Actress for their big-screen outings - Keys and Hudson for The Secret Life of Bees, and Knowles for Cadillac Records.
In addition, The Secret Life of Bees and Cadillac Records, which also stars Adrien Brody, Gabrielle Union and Mos Def, are shortlisted for the Best Picture award. The two movies will fight it out with Will Smith’s Seven Pounds, director Spike Lee’s Miracle at St. Anna, and Tyler Perry’s the Family That Preys.
The winners of the NAACP Image Awards, which celebrates diversity in the arts, will be announced on 12 February (09).

A British film and TV awards ceremony has been rescued just a month after a major financial crisis forced organisers to scrap the show.
The Screen Nation Film and Television Awards, which honours black talent, were cancelled last month (Dec08) after one of the event’s backers pulled out because of the global economic downturn.
The ceremony will now go ahead in conjunction with British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) at the academy’s London headquarters on 7 February (09).

Actress KRISTEN JOHNSTON is struggling to gain weight again after a burst ulcer turned her skinny overnight - because the illness has robbed her of her hunger for food.
The 3rd Rock from the Sun star was last year (08) forced to deny rumours she was suffering from an eating disorder, after she was snapped looking skinny, revealing she fell ill during a run on London’s West End stage in Love Song and dropped 40 pounds (18 kilograms) in weight in a London hospital.
Six months on, the statuesque star claims she’s finding it impossible to bulk up to her former size, because she’s never hungry.
Johnston, 40, tells People magazine, "The problem is, my stomach no longer indicates to me whether it’s hungry. When food is in front of me, I eat it, but I’m never hungry. Ever. I went to the doctor about it. He says my stomach will eventually get back to normal."

Comedian and talk show host CRAIG FERGUSON’s secret Christmas (09) wedding almost ended in disaster when a snow storm forced nearly all the guests to miss the ceremony.
Ferguson, 46, made girlfriend of three years Megan Wallace Cunningham, 26, his third wife at her family’s Vermont farmhouse on 21 December (08).
A blizzard hit the New England area the day of the nuptials, meaning only 15 family and friends were able to reach the venue, with a further 45 stranded en route.
The couple was also forced to abandon their reception when roads became too treacherous to drive on. Instead, art dealer Cunningham’s chef brother improvised a wedding meal using the contents of their freezer.
Announcing the wedding on his programme The Late Late Show on Tuesday (06Jan08), Ferguson joked, "We’re approaching the two week mark. In Hollywood that’s like a golden wedding anniversary."

Teenage actress DAKOTA FANNING has been helping her THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES co-star JENNIFER HUDSON cope with the grisly murder of her family.
Hudson has shunned the public eye since her mother, Darnell Donerson, and brother, Jason Hudson, were found shot dead at their home in Chicago, Illinois in October (08). Hudson’s nephew Julian King, seven, was found dead three days later.
And Fanning, who became pals with the star while they filmed the 2008 movie together, has been on hand to support Hudson through this difficult time.
He tells UsWeekly.com, "I have spoken to her. I have been in contact with her. I can’t imagine what she is going through, but she knows the whole cast is there for her, and I love her.” William Balfour - the estranged husband of Hudson’s sister, Julia - has been charged with all three murders.

FRASIER and CHEERS star KELSEY GRAMMER is returning to TV in a new U.S. sitcom pilot..
The actor will play a tycoon forced to reconnect with his family when he loses his job in the as-yet-untitled show.
Grammer, who won numerous awards during his 20-year stint playing Dr. Frasier Crane in the two hit shows, will hope the new programme is a bigger success than his last comedy outing, Back To You, which was axed in 2008 after just 17 episodes.

Former AUTEURS singer LUKE HAINES has blasted British pop rivals RADIOHEAD, BLUR and OASIS in a new autobiography.
Haines’ band were part of the 1990s Britpop revolution, forming in 1991 and splitting in 1999.
But he insists they were a class above their more successful and more famous rivals.
In Bad Vibes: Britpop And My Part In Its Downfall, Haines calls Radiohead "most heinous of creatures"; Oasis "mindless northern bluff"; and Blur "habitual bandwagon jumpers (who presented) a masterclass in media complicity".

Country singer WYNONNA JUDD is getting in shape for 2009 - as the new face of a weight-loss product.
The heavyweight star, 44, will front slimming pills Alli - and she’s hoping her public weight battle will help others who are struggling with similar issues.
She says, "This is about me picking something that I know works for me. I can still plan (my work) and not feel like Alli is dictating my life as I have in the past on other programs. It fits into my schedule.
"I don’t have diet goals. My goals are to live as happy and healthy as I can.
People can see themselves in me and say, ‘You know what? If she can do it, I can do it.’ "I hope people will be inspired by the face that I’ve overcome a lot, I’m still here and it’s a miracle."

Rap superstar KANYE WEST is branching further out into the fashion industry he’s launching his own sneakers with top designer Louis Vuitton.
The Gold Digger rapper recently announced plans for his clothing range, Pastelle, and a collaboration with Nike for the Air Yeezy sports shoe.
And now the self-proclaimed "Louis Vuitton don" is turning it up a gear by teaming with his favourite label to produce the all white design he’s recently been sporting.
Confirming rumours of the deal, West told reporters as he left a Louis Vuitton store, "I was just showing them my new Louis… Can’t say too much of that though… these (aren’t) coming out until June."

MILEY CYRUS’ songwriting skills have been hailed by the country rocker she collaborated with on Grammy-nominated hit I THOUGHT I LOST YOU.
The song, which Cyrus co-wrote and performed with Jeffrey Steele to accompany animated movie Bolt, is nominated for Grammy and Golden Globe awards.
And music veteran Steele insists his teenage partner deserves an equal share of credit.
He says, "I was amazed at her sense of where the story had to go within the song. I didn’t know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised."

MARK RONSON, BRIAN ENO and SUEDE guitarist BERNARD BUTLER have all landed nominations for the inaugural Music Producers Guild Awards.
Valerie hitmaker Ronson has scored two nods, one for Best International Producer of the Year and another for The Joe Meek Award for Innovation in Production - for which Bjork and Eno will also compete.
Butler, Eno and Steve Mac are up for Producer of the Year, while Bloc Party producer Cenzo Townsend is another double nominee - he will fight it out for Recording Engineer of the Year and Best Mix Engineer.
Meanwhile, singer Duffy’s chart smash Mercy is nominated for U.K. Single of the Year 2008, and her album Rockferry will go up against Coldplay’s Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends, and British rockers Elbow’s The Seldom Seen Kid for U.K. Album of the Year 2008.
The awards show will take place in London on 12 February (09).

Former SPICE GIRL MELANIE BROWN refuses to hire a personal trainer to help her keep fit - because she ends up chatting with the hunks instead of exercising.
The slim singer tried to shed weight by recruiting an expert when she was younger - but she was too distracted by her teachers to focus on her work-out.
She tells British magazine Hello!, "I don’t have a personal trainer - if anything, I might take a spin class once a week, or do a boot camp class. But that’s about it! "I had personal trainers when I was in my twenties, but I didn’t really do much training - I did more talking!"

FANTASTIC FOUR star CHRIS EVANS is forced to avoid nights out with his gay brother - in case the press begin to speculate about his own sexuality.
The actor’s younger brother, Scott, is openly homosexual, and often asks the star to join him on outings to gay bars.
But Evans admits he is forced to decline the invitations, because he fears a photograph of him at a gay club would spark rumours which would haunt him for ever.
He says, "I’m down with the gays. Mostly I’m hanging out with (my brother) and his gay buddies, who are f**king hilarious. They’re the funniest people I know. Porn moguls LARRY FLYNT and JOE FRANCIS are appealing to the U.S. Congress to grant the adult entertainment industry a $5 billion (£3.3 billion) bail out because it is suffering from the global economic meltdown just as much as others.
Hustler magazine entrepreneur Flynt claims adult DVD sales have plummeted in the last 12 months, with figures down 22 per cent from 2007.
He says, "With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind. It’s time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America." Meanwhile, Girls Gone Wild creator Francis is planning to travel to Washington D.C. to make his point heard, because he’s adamant the porn industry is a key part of the U.S. economy - just like the financial and motor institutions.
He tells TMZ.com, "Congress seems willing to help shore up our nation’s most important businesses; we feel we deserve the same consideration."

American comedian FAIZON LOVE is reportedly in trouble with the law after allegedly punching a man in the head at a Hollywood hotel.
According to TMZ.com, Love is suspected of battery following a fight with an unnamed man at the Standard Hotel.
Police were called to the scene, but the Friday actor had reportedly left by the time officers arrived.
The authorities are interested in discussing the incident with Love, reports the website.
And it’s not the first time he has faced accusations of violence - in 2007, Love was sued for allegedly carrying out a "barbaric assault" on a former stage manager in one of his productions after she claimed to have spurned his sexual advances.

A woman used as a decoy for JAMIE LYNN SPEARS at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) last year (08) is suing the building’s police department for $2 million (£1.3 million) - because they failed to warn her of the danger she would face posing as the star.
The incident took place in September (08), when Britney Spears’ younger sister was due to return to the city after giving birth to her daughter Maddie.
Cops at LAX tried to divert paparazzi from following Jamie Lynn on 11 September 11 by flanking impromptu doppelganger Adessa Eskeridge and escorting her to baggage claim.
Eskeridge, who was flying on the same plane as Spears, claims authorities told her, "You’re going to help us with something" as she disembarked the aircraft.
She filed suit against LAX police last month (Dec08) - and now it has emerged Eskeridge alleges she "was not given any details as to the nature of the task or the potential danger involved. She simply followed the instructions of the police as most good citizens would do." Legal papers filed by Eskeridge’s attorney R.J. Molligan allege the police "did not want to subject Ms. Spears to the pushing, shoving, humiliation and possible physical injury that come with the paparazzi, but instead decided that Ms. Eskeridge was not important enough to give the same protections to." The documents continue, "(Eskeridge was) never informed that upon deplaning, she would be mobbed by the paparazzi, that she would be in fear of her well-being, that her picture would be taken and that video of her would be all over the internet." Eskeridge is seeking a "fair and reasonable settlement" for what her attorney calls a "false arrest", because of the "great humiliation" she suffered, and continues to suffer, having "her identity made synonymous with ‘fake Jamie Lynn Spears - a nobody".
At the time of the incident, a spokesman for the LAX Police Department declared an internal investigation was being held because the force had no such policy to provide a decoy for celebrities.
