PATRICK SWAYZE often feels scared and angry as he faces his battle against cancer - but fears he has only seen the beginning of his fight against the disease.
The Dirty Dancing star announced he was battling pancreatic cancer at the beginning of last year (08) and has since undergone treatment for the illness.
In his first televised interview since he was diagnosed, he talks candidly about his worries to U.S. broadcaster Barbara Walters on the programme 20/20.
He says, "There’s a lot of fear here. There’s a lot of stuff going on. Yeah, I’m scared. Yeah, I’m angry. Yeah, I’m (asking) why me. Yeah, I’m all this stuff. You can bet that I’m going through hell. And I’ve only seen the beginning of it." And Swayze reveals the terrifying moments when he realised something was wrong - and the physical anguish he faced before his diagnosis.
He adds, "I tried to have champagne, and it would be like pouring acid, you know, on an open wound. My indigestion issues got gigantic and constant. And then I started thinking, ‘I’m getting skinny.’ "I dropped about 20 pounds in the blink of an eye. And then when you see it in the mirror, when all of a sudden, you pull your eyes down and the bottom of your eyes go yellow and jaundice sets in - then you know something’s wrong." Doctors found Swayze had a malignant tumour in his midsection and a tiny mass on his liver, but after a series of procedures over several days, doctors discovered it was worse than they originally thought - the actor had Stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
But Swayze was optimistic about his diagnosis, telling experts, "Watch me! You watch what I pull off." The exclusive interview is set to air in the U.S. on Wednesday (07Jan09).

Rapper JIM JONES has been publicly scolded by his mother on New York radio after he was charged with misdemeanour assault following a clash with members of singer NE-YO’s entourage.
The Diplomats frontman met with police officers on Monday (05Jan09) and was quizzed over an alleged brawl that is said to have taken place at the Louis Vuitton store in Manhattan on 24 December (08).
Jones’ lawyer Scott Leemon later revealed his client had been booked for his part in the altercation, and was released on bail after giving a full statement.
And although details about the incident remain unclear, Jones’ mum made her feelings known about her son’s legal trouble when she aired her views on DJ Ed Lover’s show on Monday and called for peace on the streets.
She said, "I’m tired of all these rappers not doing their jobs. They’re getting into all types of crazy stuff… Your job is called ‘rapping’ for the audience, for the people. Get paid, and take your behind home." Mrs. Jones confessed she didn’t know the exact nature of the altercation, but added, "It ain’t (sic) too hot (good). Everybody’s worried." And the hip-hop star himself is thankful he’s not behind bars following his visit to the police station - even though he’s not entirely sure what he’s meant to have done wrong.
He tells MTV.com, "I guess I got lucky… I don’t know what this is for. All I know is I was shopping. I don’t know what happened. They say it was an incident at the store, but I don’t know." The rapper is due to appear in court on 4 February (09) to answer the charge.

Rocker COURTNEY LOVE has reportedly won $30 million (£20.7 million) in sponsorship deals for her long-awaited album NOBODY’S DAUGHTER.
According to her online blog, the former Hole frontwoman’s forthcoming release will be backed by two big companies, although the website’s head administrator, who posted the news, refuses to name them.
The administrator writes, "The artwork is pretty much done. Courtney has $30 million in sponsorships, from a prominent feminine hygiene/menstrual company and a prominent tequila company. And Courtney doesn’t even understand that part!" Nobody’s Daughter - the follow-up to 2004’s America’s Sweetheart - was due to be released online on 1 January (09), but has been delayed until next month (Feb09).

THE STOOGES guitarist RON ASHETON has been found dead at his Michigan home at the age of 60.
The rocker’s personal assistant contacted police on Monday (05Jan09) night after failing to reach the star for days, according to Detective Bill Stanford.
Officers were sent to Asheton’s house in Ann Arbor to investigate and discovered his body on a couch in the living room at around midnight on Tuesday (06Jan09). Cops believe the star suffered a heart attack a few days previously, although the official cause of death has yet to be determined.
Foul play has been ruled out, and autopsy and toxicology reports are expected soon.
Asheton was a co-songwriter and founding member of The Stooges, along with his brother, drummer Scott, bassist Dave Alexander, and frontman Iggy Pop in 1967.
He left the group in the 1970s after the flop of their third album Raw Power, and went on to form other bands, including supergroup The Wylde Rattz comprising of Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis, Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore and Mudhoney’s Mark Arm.
The Stooges reunited in 2003 and released an album of new material in 2007 their first in 34 years - titled The Weirdness.

Former SPICE GIRL VICTORIA BECKHAM will be dividing her time between Los Angeles and Italy in the coming months, as soccer ace husband DAVID makes his move to a club in the European country.
The sportsman has transferred to AC Milan from LA Galaxy, but the couple is reluctant to uproot its three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz, from school in America.
So while the soccer star trains, his wife will be staying in L.A. with the children - but she will jet across the Atlantic each week to see her husband.
David Beckham tells Britain’s Daily Star, "Everyone knows how much I love my wife and my children - but at the same time I love football.
"My children will remain in L.A. due to school and Victoria will stay with them. When she comes to Milan she will remain with me for a couple of days. My wife will come back once or twice a week to be with me and spend time in Milan, so I am very excited about that.

Pop star LILY ALLEN has been linked to a starring role in iconic British sci-fi series DR WHO.
The British singer was namechecked as one of the possible stars BBC bosses are considering to play the Doctor’s sidekick when the show returns to U.K.
screens in 2010.
Unknown actor Matt Smith was named as David Tennant’s replacement after it was announced he would step down from the role - one of the biggest parts on U.K. TV - last year (08).
BBC executives are now hoping to fill the role of the Doctor’s female companion, and have their sights set on a well-known face after former British pop star Billie Piper’s successful turn on the show.
And the show’s executive producer Piers Wenger hinted that Allen would be a great asset - insisting he would be "delighted" to see the Smile hitmaker at an audition.
He tells Britain’s Daily Telegraph newspaper, "Having got the casting of the Doctor out of the way, the companion role is where we will be looking next.
Someone terribly exciting like Billie Piper, who was at the beginning of her acting career but who had a profile for other reasons, would be great. We are looking for someone whose light can burn brightly.
"We would never cast anyone on the basis of their celebrity, but if Lily wanted to audition we would be delighted. It would be a lot of fun." Other stars who are reportedly being considered for the role include actress/model Kelly Brook and British singer Rachel Stevens.

SIR ELTON JOHN could be making a return to his role as honorary life president of a British soccer club.
The music legend stepped down from his position at Watford Football Club last year (Oct08) because of differences between him and chairman Graham Simpson.
But Simpson has since left his post - and John has already accepted an invite to revisit the ground, according to the club’s manager Brendan Rodgers.
He tells Britain’s Daily Express, "He is one of the most iconic figures associated with Watford Football Club. People like Elton John have been involved here for many years. For me it is important that people like that have a part in the future as well.
"I was delighted when he accepted my invitation… and he was great with the players and staff. He rang me later when he got home, thanking me for the day."

Singer PATRICK WOLF has accused security staff at a recent MADONNA concert of assaulting him and his boyfriend for sharing a kiss in public.
The gay British star claims he was handcuffed and "beaten up" by bouncers outside London’s Wembley Arena after they threw him out for smooching his partner while watching Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour in September (08).
And Wolf, who was bedridden and forced to take painkillers while he recovered, insists the alleged attack was committed because of the pair’s sexuality.
He tells music blog EQ, "Three songs in, me and my man were kissing and there were loads of conservative straight couples around us that complained. And then the bouncers came up to me and said, ‘Can you stop that? This is a family venue.’ No joke…
"The bouncer said, ‘You know we can do this the easy way or the violent way’ and I said, ‘I’m staying so you do whatever you want.’ And then they just grabbed both of us. We were beaten up outside Wembley, handcuffed. These guys were like football bouncers.
"The police came and it just went on and on and on. My man’s face covered in blood. I couldn’t move for like a month. I had to lie in bed on painkillers for ages. They totally twisted my arm and my legs - it was just mad.
"They are currently researching the CCTV - it’s just really nuts. We basically got beaten up by the police." And as a result of the incident, the Bluebells hitmaker has vowed never again to listen to the Material Girl.
He adds, "You know it means I can’t be bothered to listen to Madonna ever again - which is good because it means I have more time for better music. You live and you learn.
"You get into scraps with bouncers the whole time, but that was one step up because there were like seven of them and they just wanted to have a go because they were bored. There was a lot of quite homophobic s**t going down which I was really p**sed about seeing - it was a Madonna concert, y’know!"

Actress REBECCA HALL was convinced she’d missed an opportunity to work with WOODY ALLEN - because she embarrassed herself when she first met the director.
Hall stars in Allen’s new movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona opposite Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz - but was once certain she had ruined any chance of the director casting her because of their disastrous first meeting.
She recalls, "I was horribly affected by shyness. It was like the meeting of two oddballs. We stood there and I said, ‘Mmm, you’re wearing a green jumper,’ and he said, ‘Yes, it’s for St Patrick’s Day,’ and that was it - I was mortified.
"Between that and the next time I met him, there were a bunch of English films he made I wasn’t in. I was dreading meeting him again. I went into this little office and he came out into the doorway as I simultaneously tried to walk in. So the meeting (for Vicky Cristina Barcelona) happened in the doorway.
"He looked at me quizzically and said, ‘Have we met before?’ and I went, ‘Yeah, I remember.’ He said, ‘Can you do an American accent?’ I went ‘Yeah, I can.’ Then he went, ‘OK, bye.’" Two weeks later Hall learned she had won the role.

Comedian AL FRANKEN has officially won his marathon race for the U.S. Senate seat in Minnesota - but his opponent has already vowed to challenge the results.
The former Saturday Night Live star has been deadlocked with his political opponent, Republican Senator Norm Coleman, for nearly two months after votes from the November (08) election were recounted.
But the state’s Canvassing Board certified on Monday (05Jan09) that the Democrat funnyman had won the race by 225 votes - out of nearly three million cast.
Speaking to reporters outside his Minneapolis, Minnesota home, the star said he was "humbled" to be elected.
Franken’s battle with his rival is expected to continue, however, after Coleman’s legal aides announced plans to file a lawsuit disputing the results within 24 hours, calling the data "invalid and unreliable".

Movie hardman MICKEY ROURKE was forced to forget his fighting background for new movie THE WRESTLER, because he found his skills as a former professional boxer were more of a hindrance than a help.
The 52-year-old star has made a triumph return to the big screen after more than a decade in the Hollywood wilderness following a string of well-documented run-ins with the law, and a failed foray into professional boxing.
But he struggled to get to grips with his role as has-been grappler Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson in the film, because wrestlers aren’t as "graceful" as boxers.
He says, "It got in the way because wrestlers don’t move like fighters, and fighters don’t move like wrestlers - it was really more like I had to get my mindset out of that.
"In boxing, you move very gracefully. These guys move very hulkingly and you can read their punches."

QUEEN LATIFAH will continue her role as a spokesperson for diet brand Jenny Craig - after she used the weight-loss plan to shed 20 pounds (nine kilograms) in the last year.

British pop sensation LEONA LEWIS has signed a deal to release her memoirs - at the age of 23.
The Bleeding Love singer has teamed up with publishers Hodder & Stoughton to pen her autobiography which is set to hit stores in October (09).
The tome will document her meteoric rise to fame since winning Simon Cowell’s U.K. TV talent show The X Factor in 2006.
Lewis has gone on to top the album and singles charts in both the U.S. and the U.K.
She says, "The last two years have been an unbelievable experience for me. So to have it documented in pictures and to be able to tell people in my own words what it feels like means a lot to me.
"I know the book will be full of special moments and I’m already having a brilliant time putting it together."

Beleaguered rapper T.I. is set to return to the courtroom - lawyers for his ex-girlfriend are demanding $8,000 (£5,400) in unpaid legal fees relating to their ongoing custody battle.
A U.S. court ordered the star in September (08) to pay more than $3,000 (£2,000) a month to former partner LaShon Dixon, on top of their two sons’ private school tuition, uninsured medical bills and various expenses racked up by the children’s extracurricular activities.
The Whatever You Like hitmaker, real name Clifford Harris Jr., was also told to cover her attorney costs by 19 November (08), according to Dixon’s lawyer Randy Kessler.
Harris is due to appear at Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta, Georgia to resolve the matter on Tuesday (06Jan09).
Dixon and Harris are in the midst of negotiating custody and child support for their sons, aged seven and eight. The star has two other sons with his fiancee, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle.
T.I. is due to begin a jail sentence this year (09) after pleading guilty to the illegal possession of three machine guns and two silencers following his 2007 arrest.

A medal awarded to JOHN LENNON by British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II has been uncovered in a royal vault - 40 years after the late BEATLE refused the honour as part of an anti-war protest.
The legendary musician was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in the Queen’s 1965 Birthday honours list, alongside his fellow bandmates Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.
Lennon returned the MBE to Buckingham Palace four years later in protest to America’s war in Vietnam.
Now, palace officials have re-discovered the insignia stored away at St James’s Palace in London, along with a protest letter sent by Lennon to the Queen.
The letter reads, "Your Majesty, I am returning my MBE as a protest against Britain’s involvement in the Nigeria-Biafra thing, against our support of America in Vietnam and against ‘Cold Turkey’ slipping down the charts. With Love, John Lennon." Cold Turkey is a track Lennon released with the Plastic Ono Band.
And now palace officials have called on Lennon’s widow Yoko Ono to decide the MBE’s fate.
A spokesperson for the palace says, "John Lennon’s MBE is being taken good care of and is in storage at the Central Chancery. It has been retained since the day Mr Lennon returned it, but in order to decide whether the medal could go on display in a museum, we would have to establish ownership first. It could be up to Yoko Ono as she is the custodian of John Lennon’s estate."

LINDSAY LOHAN has lashed out at reporters who insist she has split from DJ girlfriend SAMANTHA RONSON - urging them to get their "stories straight".
Speculation suggesting the Mean Girls actress had broke up with her lesbian lover reached fever pitch on Monday (05Jan09) after U.S. TV news show Access Hollywood claimed the star had moved out of the home she shared with Ronson.
The reports followed a series of rows between the pair in recent weeks, with some gossip sites stating the star was looking to set up home with her little sister Ali in Los Angeles.
But Lohan has slammed the rumours - insisting she is sick of having to tell pals to ignore stories about her love-life.
She writes on her MySpace blog, "RUMORS. little piece of TRUE information: we did NOT break up! "Access hollywood, extra, et, every tabloid, page six… AND every GOSSIP website. Get your stories straight please. It’s really annoying to have all of your friends emailing you saying, i saw, i read, etc… NOT TRUE."
