KATE HUDSON has provoked the wrath of her BRIDE WARS co-star ANNE HATHAWAY - by mocking her relationship with jailed fraudster RAFFAELO FOLLIERI on U.S. TV.
The pair play pals battling over their plans to marry on the same day in the new comedy movie.
Hudson was recently forced to deny reports the pair fell out for real on set - but she provoked further rumours of a rift during an appearance on Monday’s (05Jan08) The Late Show with David Letterman.
When the host brought up the subject of Hathaway’s 2008 split from Follieri, who is currently serving a four-and-a-half year prison sentence, Hudson laughed and replied, "Surprises in life are awesome." Follieri was convicted on charges of money laundering and posing as Pope Benedict XVI’s representative in America in October (08).
And when Letterman asked if Hudson had met Hathaway before the movie, she joked, "We met the Pope." A spokesperson for Hudson recently said of the feud rumours, "She and Anne have always been good girlfriends and remain good girlfriends. This is ridiculous and couldn’t be further from the truth."

JOHN TRAVOLTA’s Ocala, Florida neighbours have paid tribute to the actor’s tragic son, calling teenager JETT a "happy" boy, whose smile "warmed your heart".
The 16-year-old died on Friday (02Jan09) after suffering a seizure at the family’s Bahamas holiday home and neighbours in Jumbolair are still coming to terms with the tragedy.
Next door neighbour Jacob Urbowicz tells America’s Life & Style magazine, "I’ll always remember Jett’s beautiful smile. If you had a bad day, it was his smile that warmed your heart.
"Jett was very happy whenever we saw him. My memory is of him waving at us every time he went by on a golf cart. He would ride around in it for fun on the property with two caretakers. He was never alone.
"This is a small community. John’s famous, but he was always one of us. It’s devastating; no words can describe what they lost. Our thoughts and prayers are with them." And Urbowicz’s wife Lisa adds, "As the mother of two boys, I can understand the heartache they must be going through. You see them grow up, and then something like this happens; it’s just too much. It’s something you cannot even describe in words."

Brazilian soap star RODRIGO HILBERT and his model/actress girlfriend FERNANDA LIMA tried in vain to save a German-born wine mogul who was killed in a hit-and-run boat accident on New Year’s Eve (31Dec08).
Christian Wolffer - who owns New York’s Wolffer Estate Vineyard - was struck as he swam off the coast of Paraty, Brazil on 31 December (08).
Hilbert, 24, and Lima, 33, saw Wolffer pleading for help, and dashed into the sea in a kayak to rescue him. They dragged him back to shore, but failed to revive him.
Cops are now investigating Wolffer’s death, at the age of 70, as a murder.
A police spokesperson tells the New York Post, "It is a homicide and is being investigated as such." Hilbert and Lima have a released a statement that reads, "We are saddened and shocked. It was a brutality. We did what we could."

A Hong Kong tycoon has succeeded in his bid to turn the former home of martial arts legend BRUCE LEE into a museum to preserve his memory.
Lee’s former two-storey home in the Kowloon area is now owned by billionaire philanthropist Yu Panglin.
He claims he has already turned down an offer of $13 million (£8.9 million) for the house, because he is determined to donate the building to the city and use it to pay tribute to Lee.
And his plans to turn the house into a tourist attraction was given the green light on Tuesday (06Jan09) after locals and government officials approved the venture.
Panglin says, "Both sides have now reached a consensus to go ahead and essentially proceed with this good plan.
"I’m 88 years old now and hope that while I’m still alive I’ll be able to see this Bruce Lee museum completed." Enter the Dragon star Lee died in 1973, aged 32.

Designer KARL LAGERFELD has launched into a bitter battle with animal rights activists after defending the use of fur in fashion.
The 75-year-old German boss of fashion house Chanel claims anti-fur protesters are "childish" and argues hunted animals would kill their human predators if they could.
Lagerfeld says, "In a meat eating world, wearing leather for shoes and even clothes, the discussion of fur is childish.
"(In the north, hunters) make a living having learned nothing else than hunting, killing those beasts who would kill us if they could kill us." Michael McGraw, spokesperson for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), has hit back, telling the New York Post,, "Lagerfeld seems particularly delusional with his kill-or-be-killed mentality. When was the last time a person’s life was threatened by a mink or rabbit?" It’s not the first time Lagerfeld has battled PETA; in 2001 activists in New York hurled tofu pies at him at an event to protest his use of fur - but they missed, hitting fellow designer Calvin Klein instead.

PATRICK SWAYZE is sure he has a guardian angel looking after him as he battles cancer - the actor is convinced his late father is watching over him.
The Dirty Dancing star announced he was battling pancreatic cancer at the beginning of last year (08) and has since undergone treatment for the illness.
And he is sure his father, who passed away in 1982 after suffering a heart attack, is helping his fight against the disease.
In an interview due to be aired on U.S. TV on Wednesday (07Jan09), Swayze tells host Barbara Walters, "I like to believe that I’ve got a lot of guardian warriors sitting on my shoulder, including my dad, saying, ‘You just let Swayze dog know it’s been his turn all this time. You just let us do the work and we’ll finish it for him.’ "And so, I’m trying to shut up and let my angels speak to me and, and tell me what I’m supposed to do. What winning is to me is not giving up, is no matter what’s thrown at me, I can take it. And I can keep going." His fight against the deadly disease has also triggered a fascination with the afterlife for Swayze.
He adds: "I don’t know what’s on the other side. It tests everything I believe in… that here is something unique in all of us that does not, does not die."

The Bahamas health minister has blasted funeral home workers for leaking the cause of JETT TRAVOLTA’s death, insisting it was in breach of strict confidentiality rules.
Insiders at the mortuary where the body of John Travolta’s 16-year-old son was kept following his death in the Caribbean country on Friday (02Jan08), spoke out on Monday (05Jan08), just hours after an autopsy took place, to reveal that he died from a seizure.
Politician Dr. Hubert Minnis is furious the information was made public so soon after the death, and before Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston were able to comment on the findings.
Speaking on U.S. breakfast TV programme The Today Show, Minnis says, "I was somewhat amazed that the funeral director or someone leaked the report. It’s strictly confidential and the family should be in the position to release the report." Travolta and Preston returned home to their Ocala, Florida home on Monday with the ashes of the teenager, following his cremation.
Funeral plans have yet to be announced, but a ceremony is expected to take place later this week (begs05Jan09).

Actor JOSH BROLIN and his W co-star JEFFREY WRIGHT will have charges relating to a Louisiana bar brawl last summer (08) dropped after striking a deal with prosecutors.
The two stars joined director Oliver Stone, other castmembers and members of the film crew at the Stray Cat bar in Shreveport in July (08) to celebrate the completion of shooting on the George W. Bush biopic.
But their night was cut short when a fight broke out at the venue, and Brolin and Wright were arrested and showered with pepper spray.
The pair was charged with interfering with a cop during the incident, in which Wright was also tasered.
However, following negotiations between the actors’ attorney Blair Berk and the police, the charges will be dropped if they stay out of trouble until 11 March (09).
A settlement hearing was held on Tuesday (06Jan09), although Brolin was not in attendance.

Pop star PINK is still struggling to come to terms with her split from husband CAREY HART last year (08) - but has promised to "give him away" if he ever weds again.
The singer, real name Alecia Moore, parted ways with motocross racer Hart in February after two years of marriage.
The former couple has remained close since the split - with Pink even opting to ring in the New Year with her ex - but she admits she’s being realistic about their future together, and has offered to play a vital part in any future wedding of Hart’s.
She tells February’s (09) Seventeen magazine, "It’s up and down. You have strong moments, and you have weak moments. But it’s not just been devastating it’s been freedom, too.
"I told him that I would give him away at his next wedding." However, Pink recently confessed she’s still legally wed to the tattooed action sports star, because she has yet to sign off on divorce papers.

Rap icon JAY-Z has been paired up with rockers RADIOHEAD for a new internet ‘mash-ups’ project titled JAYDIOHEAD - courtesy of New York DJ MINTY FRESH BEATS.
The hip-hop star’s 99 Problems has been mixed with Radiohead’s The National Anthem, while his track Dirt Off Your Shoulder has been merged with Paranoid Android.
The cross-genre music has so far been praised by fans of both artists since Minty Fresh Beats posted the mixes on his MySpace.com page on 30 December (08) - and some devotees have even come up with artwork for the disc should it ever be officially released.
It’s not the first time Jay-Z’s work has been altered by an unusual collaboration - he teamed up with Linkin’ Park for Collision Course, which was officially released in 2004.
And he was paired with The Beatles when DJ Danger Mouse mixed Jay-Z’s The Black Album with the Fab Four’s 1968 self-titled LP, commonly known as The White Album, to create The Grey Album that same year.
Other DJs have also combined the MC’s music with that of Coldplay to produce the mixtape titled Viva la Hova, and an Oasis ‘mash-up’ was named OJayZis: Jay-Z vs Oasis

PARIS HILTON has only slept with "a couple of people" - because she respects herself too much.
The Simple Life star has had high profile relationships with former Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter and Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, but is currently single after splitting from the rocker in November (08).
And Hilton insists she just kisses the majority of her suitors, and plays "hard to get" to ensure men are serious about dating her.
She tells Glamour magazine, "I’ve only done it (had sex) with a couple of people. People make up stories, but mostly I just kiss.
"I think it’s important to play hard to get. Nobody wants the fake Prada bag; they want the brand new bag that no one can get and is the most expensive. If you give it up to a guy he won’t respect you; he’ll want you much more if he can’t have you."

Troubled star AMY WINEHOUSE has dropped her appeal against drug charges in Norway and accepted a fine after she was caught in possession of marijuana in the country.
The Rehab hitmaker was arrested alongside husband Blake Fielder-Civil and her hairdresser in the city of Bergen in October 2007 after she was found with seven grammes of the illegal drug in her hotel room.
The trio was released by authorities after handing over $430 (£294), although Winehouse later contested the fine, claiming she was unaware paying the amount was the equivalent of admitting her guilt.
A trial date was set for next week (12Jan09).
But Winehouse has put an end to the case by accepting the fine for illegally possessing the drug, according to her lawyer Ole Kvelstad.
He says, "After a careful review of the whole matter, they decided to drop the appeal." Kvelstad refused to give details regarding the decision to withdraw the appeal.
Prosecutor Rudolf Christoffersen confirmed the party had withdrawn their appeals and therefore would not have to appear in court: "That means the fines stand." The 2007 arrest hampered the star’s career throughout 2008 - she struggled to obtain a visa to travel to America for the Grammy Awards in February, and was forced to accept her five gongs via satellite link from London.

Celebrity author IAN HALPERIN has offered to pay for MICHAEL JACKSON to undergo medical tests - to prove the star’s claim he is not dying from a lung disease.
Halperin, a former writer for America’s Rolling Stone magazine, is producing a new book about Jackson’s life and insists the Bad hitmaker is suffering from deadly lung condition Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.
Jackson’s publicist denied the claims last month (Dec08) and described the allegation as "a total fabrication".
But Halperin has now fired back at the singer - by offering to fund a medical examination to uncover the truth about Jackson’s health.
He says, "I stand by my story about Michael. My book and film will not be the hatchet job everyone thinks. Michael’s one of the greatest artists of our time, and perhaps in the top five ever. My work will get inside his life and how he became the biggest pop culture figure since the other King - Elvis.
"As far as his denial about my claims regarding his medical condition, I challenge Michael to undergo a full medical exam which I’m willing to pay for.
This can easily clear everything up."

KATE WINSLET has her heart set on winning an Academy Award at this year’s (09) ceremony - because she is sick of missing out on the accolade.
The actress has been nominated three times for Best Actress and twice for Best Supporting Actress, but has yet to be handed the award.
But with nominations for the Oscars set to be announced later this month (22Jan09), Winslet is hopeful for a nod for her roles in The Reader or Revolutionary Road - and would be ecstatic if she walked away with the prize on the night (22Feb09).
She tells Britain’s Reveal magazine, "I want to win, I’m not denying that. I don’t want to be sitting there with a fixed grin on my face while someone else wins. But we all do that, don’t we?"

JOHN TRAVOLTA and wife KELLY PRESTON have flown home to Florida with the remains of their late son JETT.
The 16-year-old died following a seizure at the family’s Bahamas holiday retreat on Friday (02Jan09).
The Pulp Fiction star and Preston, who also have an eight-year-old daughter, left the island on Monday (05Jan09) night with the ashes of the teenager, following his cremation.
The couple returned to their Ocala, Florida home for the first time since the teenager’s death, a friend of the couple tells the Associated Press.
And an emergency worker who drove the ambulance that took Jett to hospital has revealed Travolta hugged the teenager’s body and wept, "I’m sorry, Jett" when he was told his son was dead.
Medic Tarino Lightbourn says, "I think he meant, ‘I’m sorry, Jett. I did all I could do.’ He was crying, eyes red. I remember him looking up at the ceiling and saying ‘God please help me!’ "John himself was participating in the CPR on the way to the hospital. John himself went behind the curtain, tears in his eyes. I could see the love in his eyes. When he was hugging his son he said ‘I’m sorry Jett’." Pathologists conducting Monday’s (05Jan09) autopsy have yet to comment on the official cause of death, but an undertaker who has seen the death certificate revealed experts concluded the youngster died from a "seizure".
Funeral plans have not yet been announced, but the ceremony is expected to take place this week (begs05Jan09).

TOM CRUISE suffered for his latest role in VALKYRIE - an elaborate costume left him feeling dizzy on set.
The actor was required to don an eye patch for the film, which tells the true story of a plot to assassinate Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
But his changed state of vision left him feeling dizzy and unbalanced - which he hadn’t anticipated.
He tells Britain’s OK! magazine, "I was surprised. It did when we started working on it, especially when it was dark. I lost depth perception and balance, and also in terms of visual cinematic storytelling it was a challenge."

BRAD PITT has remained down to earth since hitting the big time - and even made cups of tea for everybody on the set of SNATCH, according to director GUY RITCHIE.
The pair teamed up for the 2000 gangster movie, which also starred hardman Vinnie Jones, and Pitt fast became a favourite on set by offering to make drinks for the film crew.
Ritchie was impressed by the unstarry attitude of the Hollywood actor - but wonders whether a chance encounter with Jones prior to filming influenced Pitt’s demeanour.
Ritchie tells Britain’s new! magazine, "Brad is a diamond geezer (great guy) and a real gent because, even though he’s famous, he doesn’t take himself too seriously and doesn’t have any of that ‘I’m a Hollywood star’ thing about him.
"He did a brilliant job on Snatch and was one of the lads from the start. He even made cups of tea for all the punters (crew) on set! But then Vinnie did get him in a headlock on the first day, showed him who was boss and straightened him out - so that might have had something to do with it."

Actor RIP TORN has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an arrest in December (08).
The 77-year-old was pulled over by police on 14 December (08) when he was spotted driving along the breakdown lane on a highway in Connecticut with a Christmas tree strapped to the roof of his car.
He failed part of a field sobriety test after giving up halfway, claiming the ground wasn’t level enough, and refused to take a breath test, according to state police.
Torn appeared in Bantam Superior Court on Monday (05Jan09) to answer allegations of illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence, and failure to drive in the proper lane.
His attorney, A. Thomas Waterfall, says, "All I can tell you is that we will review the reports, and Mr. Torn and I will meet to discuss his defence options. At this point, I don’t know what they are yet." It is Torn’s third DUI arrest in the last five years, and the December (08) incident came almost two years after he lost his licence and was fined for a similar charge in New York.
Torn is due to return to court on 28 January (09).
