MOTOWN STALWART WARD DIED ON CHRISTMAS DAY
R&B star ROBERT WARD died on Christmas Day (25Dec08), according to his wife.
Ward, a staple session man at Motown, was 70.
The vocalist/guitarist suffered a stroke in 2001 and never fully recovered, according to his wife Roberta.
Ward moved from his native Georgia to Ohio at the beginning of his career and formed the Ohio Untouchables - the band went on to become the Ohio Players.
He later moved to Detroit, Michigan and performed with Motown heavyweights like the Temptations and Wilson Pickett.
