NIKKI BLONSKY has fuelled speculation there will be a follow-up to hit movie musical HAIRSPRAY, confirming that she and co-star ZAC EFRON would love to star in a sequel.
The actress was an unknown, working in an ice-cream store, when she landed the part of Tracy Turnblad in the hit 2007 musical movie, based on the Broadway production of the show.
Efron played pin-up Link Larkin, Turnblad’s love interest, in the film.
Blonsky says, "Zac has said he’d love to do it again, and I know Brittany Snow is down for sure.
"I don’t know about Amanda (Bynes). I hope she will. I want to put on my Tracy Turnblad wig again and dance my little heart out."

U.S. broadcaster BARBARA WALTERS has landed the first TV interview with PATRICK SWAYZE since the actor announced he was battling pancreatic cancer last year (08).
Walters has conducted an indepth chat with the Dirty Dancing star, which will air in America on 7 January (09).
The two old friends met up at Swayze’s ranch outside Los Angeles, where Walters first interviewed Swayze for a TV special eight years ago.
Walters tells America’s TV Guide magazine, "Everything about him (Swayze) impresses me: his courage, his humour. There’s something very valiant about him… He’s a fighter."

DUSTIN HOFFMAN has pledged to live to 100, so he can celebrate his youngest son’s 50th birthday.
The Tootsie star has promised all his children he’ll celebrate their half-century birthdays.
He says, "I have a pact with my kids. My youngest is 21 and I said, ‘I want to be there for your 50th birthday,’ which means I have to be 100." And Hoffman is convinced hard work will help him get there.
He adds, "I’m not retiring. I’m against the concept. You retire from a job you don’t like, but you never retire from your work."

Pregnant actress KELLY RUTHERFORD has filed for divorce from the father of her unborn baby.
The Gossip Girl star filed legal papers in Los Angeles on Friday (02Jan09), asking a judge to end her two-year marriage to Daniel Giersch, according to TMZ.com.
The couple has a two-year-old son, called Hermes.
The marriage is the actress’ second.

Rocker PETE WENTZ is looking to clean up his language in 2009 - after becoming a dad.
The Fall Out Boy star, who welcomed baby Bronx Mowgli into the world in November (08), admits he swears too much and has made a New Year’s resolution to cut it out.
He says, "I’m working on not swearing around Bronx…I know I have a bit of a bad mouth.” And he’s also keen to start adding to his family with new bride Ashlee Simpson: "It’d be nine (kids) for me.”

Rock ‘n’ roller THE BIG BOPPER’s son is considering auctioning off the casket the late hitmaker was laid to rest in.
The steel coffin was exhumed last year (08), so the Chantilly Lace singer’s remains could be moved to a more visible location with a statue and historic marker. The old casket went on display at the Texas Musicians Museum in Hillsboro, Texas.
And now the Big Bopper’s son, Jay Richardson, has revealed he’s thinking about selling the used coffin.
Richardson, who was born three months after his father died, says he has "no personal use" for the casket, adding, "When you get down to it, it is just a metal box." The Big Bopper, real name Jiles Perry Richardson, Jr., was killed in a 1959 plane crash that also claimed the lives of Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens.

Former LED ZEPPELIN star ROBERT PLANT has picked up his second major award of the new year (09) after he was named the Greatest Voice in Rock in an online radio network poll.
Plant, who was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list for his services to music and the entertainment industry, has topped Planet Rock’s new The Greatest Voice in Rock Top 40 ahead of Freddie Mercury and Mercury’s Queen replacement Paul Rodgers.
The only woman to make the new list is Janis Joplin.

KATY PERRY and hip-hop star TRAVIS McCOY have split just weeks after the I KISSED A GIRL singer denied reports the couple was engaged.
Sources close to the pair claim Perry and the Gym Class Heroes frontman broke up after weeks of arguments over her busy 2009 touring schedule, and McCoy has already gone online to blast his ex in a bitter poem on his website.
He writes, "We fight every night, now that’s not kosher. I reminisce with bliss of when we was closer. And wake up to be greeted by an argument again, You act like you’re 10."

Rap mogul DR. DRE’s namesake son died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, according to updated coroners reports released on Friday (02Jan09).
Andre Young Jr. died in August (08), aged 20. Initial reports suggested he died from unknown causes.
But the exact cause of death has now been revealed by the Los Angeles County’s Coroner - his passing has been ruled "an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication." Young’s body was found by his mother, Jenita Porter, in their Woodland Hills, California home on 23 August (08).
Porter has since told investigators that her son had been out with friends the night before his death.
