YES MAN RULES U.K. BOX OFFICE CHARTS
JIM CARREY’s new comedy YES MAN is sitting atop the U.K. box office after taking $3.4 million (£2.3 million) in its opening weekend (27-28Dec08).
The film, based on British author Danny Wallace’s novel, follows Carrey’s character as he challenges himself to say "yes" to everything for an entire year.
Adam Sandler’s family fantasy-comedy Bedtime Stories made its debut at number two, taking $2.2 million (£1.5 million), while Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman’s epic Australia took third place.
Animated movie Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa slid from two to four, and last week’s number one, vampire romance Twilight, now rounds out the top five.
