COX FIGHTS WITH FAME

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:48 pm

COURTENEY COX tries to remain upbeat when she is out in public - because she can’t stand it when cameras catch her in a bad mood.
The former Friends star admits fame has provided her with tremendous opportunity both personally and professionally, but tires of putting on a happy face to please the public.
She says, "The only thing I don’t like about fame is that you have to be in a good mood if you’re going to go someplace. If you’re in a bugged mood, that’s the worst thing." But Cox admits she’s not afraid of having it out with her actor husband, David Arquette, if the two are caught mid-argument.
She adds, "If I’m in a fight, I won’t stop. It doesn’t matter who’s looking.
I don’t have modesty issues or personal issues and David does. It’s a big deal to him. I will yell (and) all of a sudden, no one exists."

  • FERRY DENIED BAIL

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:48 pm

BRYAN FERRY’s son OTIS is to spend Christmas behind bars after a judge turned down his latest bail request.
Otis Ferry was arrested in September (08) after his robbery and assault trial was adjourned when he allegedly tried to discredit a witness during the proceedings.
Ferry was subsequently remanded in prison in Gloucester, England, after pleading not guilty to two charges of perverting the course of justice.
The 26-year-old applied to be released on bail ahead of his trial, which is due to begin in March (09), but he was denied.
A second request was also turned down earlier this month (Dec08).
Lawyers for the star’s son filed a third motion to have Ferry released on Monday (22Dec08), but a judge at Gloucester Crown Court in England refused to grant the order, meaning he could now remain in jail until his trial.

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:45 pm

MADONNA is set to enjoy a luxury holiday season after reportedly splashing out $7,500 (£5,000) on wine laced with silver.
The Material Girl is said to have purchased 25 bottles of luxury Spanish alcohol brand 24K Silver in Valencia, made by Artesanos del Vino.
The company’s director Alberto Fernandez tells Britain’s The Sun newspaper, "It’s made by mixing a liquor containing silver dust into a sparkling rose." The singer’s plans for the holidays remain unknown as she and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie are currently wrangling over custody of son Rocco, eight, adopted David, three, and Madonna’s daughter Lourdes, 12, since their divorce was agreed last month (Nov08).

  • LOHAN ‘BOOSTS RONSON’S BOOKING FEE’

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:45 pm

SAMANTHA RONSON is benefiting from her relationship with LINDSAY LOHAN - the DJ’s booking fee has reportedly increased by nearly twenty times since she began dating the actress.
Lohan has repeatedly refused to confirm the nature of her relationship with Ronson but has been romantically linked to her since they were spotted kissing and cuddling at a party in Cannes, France earlier this year (08).
And Ronson, who was reportedly hospitalised on Sunday (21Dec08) with exhaustion, is certainly benefiting from her Hollywood connection - her appearance fee is said to have jumped from around $1,500 (£1,000) to as much as $25,000 (£17,000) since she became close to the Mean Girls star.
A source tells Britain’s Daily Express, "While Sam never contractually agrees that Lindsay will show up to her shows, promoters, owners and publicists all know that if you book Sam, there’s a high likelihood Lindsay will also show.
"Sam’s now asking for a lot more money to spin and she’s getting it easily."

  • DICK’S ALCOHOL BRACELET SINGALONG

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:42 pm

ANDY DICK gave American TV audiences a holiday treat - when he sang an original song on air about his alcohol monitoring bracelet.
He struck a deal to wear the device after pleading guilty to two misdemeanour charges of battery and marijuana possession in a California court in October (08) - ensuring charges of public intoxication and possession of anti-anxiety drug Xanax without a prescription were dropped.
The accusations all stem from the 42-year-old’s arrest outside a restaurant in Murrieta, California in July (08) - after he allegedly exposed a 17-year-old girl’s breasts.
When police searched the comedian, they found marijuana and Xanax.
Sexual battery charges were dropped back in August (08).
Making light of his new accessory, Dick was joined by a pair of Blues Brothers-inspired guitar players who strummed along during a segment on daytime chat show The View on Monday (22Dec08).
He sang, "I can’t drink in the city of Riverside/Come to think of it ladies I can’t drink anywhere legally, Lord knows I’ve tried/They’re keeping a brother down/I’m fibre optically tethered to the ground "I got my holiday gift a little early from Uncle Sam/You know that red, white and blue cracker/He don’t give a damn/He strapped it around my shin/It’s not like it’s constraining."

The star joined the New York Cares coat drive on Monday (22ndDec08) in Manhattan’s Bryant Park - giving the clothes off his own back to help the appeal.
Blaine then stood in the park in just a t-shirt encouraging members of the public to donate to the charity and autographing his custom playing cards for those who helped.

SHIA LaBEOUF has undergone a second operation on his hand five months after he was injured in a car crash in Los Angeles.

  • ACTORS STRIKE VOTE POSTPONED

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:39 pm

A union vote on whether Hollywood will stage an actors strike next year (09) has been postponed.
The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is due to ballot its 120,000 members next month (Jan08) in a bid to authorise industrial action in an ongoing row with leading Hollywood studios and TV networks over royalty payments.
Cardholders of the SAG rejected a three-year deal offered by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) earlier this year (Jul08), and union bosses will ballot members over a walkout which could cripple the upcoming awards season.
The vote was due to take place on 2 January (09), but has now been postponed until 14 January (09) at the earliest to give both sides extra time to come to an agreement.
A meeting between union bosses and Hollywood executives has been scheduled for 12 and 13 January (09).
An array of stars, including George Clooney, Cameron Diaz and Charlize Theron, have spoken out against the strike - insisting walkouts would be disastrous at a time when people are already suffering from the global economic downturn.

The Goodies hitmaker, 23, is working with DC Comics to create the cover artwork for the album, inspired by the comic book classics she read as a kid.
But she’s warned fans not to confuse her with the animated action figure.
She tells WENN, "Supa C is not my alter ego. Supa C is the star of my comic book and a big part of my album artwork. I have always been a huge fan of comic book illustrations as well as action super heroes, especially Batman and Spider-Man.

  • RECORD BOSSES TO QUIT ILLEGAL DOWNLOAD LAWSUITS

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 1:36 pm

Record industry chiefs in the U.S. have pledged to quit taking legal action against music fans who illegally download songs.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) will cease launching lawsuits against the members of the public in favour of developing new technology to prevent music piracy on the internet.
In a statement, RIAA bosses announced they will not file any new suits, and will instead issue warnings through internet service providers to those caught illegally downloading music - but ongoing cases will still be pursued.
If those given a warning fail to stop, their internet connection may be disconnected.
An RIAA spokeswoman added: "We think this is going to be a different form of stick, but we absolutely think this will be a meaningful alternative approach that will have a significant impact." The RIAA represents major record labels including Warner Music Group Corp, Sony Music, EMI, and Universal Music Group.

The star fought to purchase the complete works of Hungarian cult director Bela Tarr for the actress in time for Christmas.
But Pitt’s pleas were ignored when shop clerks at a small DVD store in Budapest kept hanging up on him, because they thought he was a phony. The star had to call another friend in the city - opera singer Laszlo Domahidy - to purchase the package for him.
An aide to Pitt tells Britain’s Daily Mail, "He tried several times on the phone but had to give up. They just didn’t believe him."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:00 am

PARIS HILTON fears she may be acquainted with the man who robbed her California mansion - because the thief knew the exact locations of her most precious belongings.
The intruder is believed to have forced his way through the front door of the property in Sherman Oaks on Friday (19Dec08) before ransacking the heiress’ bedroom and making off with an estimated $2 million (£1.3 million) worth of gems.
And after reviewing her home surveillance footage, Hilton has come to the conclusion that it wasn’t a stranger who committed the crime.
She tells E! News, "I think whoever did this definitely has been there before. We have some suspects that I’m thinking of." But the star is convinced authorities will soon put the culprit behind bars.
She adds: "You know, it’s just an invasion of privacy and it’s happened to me before. It’s really scary but they’re doing a huge investigation on this and we’re going to catch this person."

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 10:00 am

MICHAEL JACKSON has taken out a $100,000 (£70,000)-a-month lease on a new mansion - just one month after relinquishing his debt-steeped Neverland Ranch to an investment firm.
The Thriller hitmaker has signed a deal for a $37 million (£25 million) chateau in Holmby Hills, California, which has seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, a home cinema and a wine cellar.
The three-storey property also boasts a curved staircase, a pool and a 12 fireplaces.
Just last month (Nov08), Jackson handed over the title to his Neverland Ranch in California to a private equity group Colony Capital, which agreed to take over the singer’s $24.5 million (£16.1 million) debt on the property.
The star was forced to sell the famed Ranch after its sweeping grounds drained his finances - it cost him $25 million (£17 million) to buy and $3 million (£2 million) a year to run.
