HETFIELD IN TALKS OVER FENCE BATTLE

Posted in: Entertainment — PR-inside Entertainment News @ 5:39 pm

METALLICA frontman JAMES HETFIELD has met with officials in California in relation to his recent feud with hikers over his plans to block off a famous trail.
The Enter Sandman rocker has erected a temporary metal fence on his Terra Linda property, situated north of San Francisco, California, to protect his land from vandals.
Hetfield bought the land in 1999 but has yet to build anything on it, but a barbed wire fence around the property cuts off access to a nearby track, used by hikers and horse riders. The fence has sparked outrage in the local community.
And now the star has moved to resolve the issue by attending a meeting with county officials from Marin County Open Space District.
A representative for the organisation insists that although there is still work to be done, they are sure a mutual agreement can be reached.
A statement reads, "(A meeting was held) to discuss mutual interests related to respecting the private property rights of the Hetfields and the county’s hope to obtain appropriate public trail access rights to achieve important regional trail connections.
"The parties agreed to continue to discuss the possibility of reasonable trail alignment options. Both parties, as they work together to explore options, urge trail users to exercise patience and respect private property rights
