BLUR frontman DAMON ALBARN has another reason to celebrate - his animated band GORILLAZ are the most popular on the internet.
The cartoon rockers were the most listened to act on social networking website MySpace this year (08) - beating the likes of Oasis, Coldplay, and Amy Winehouse.
The survey of MySpace users also found Madonna’s 4 Minutes was the most-watched video, ahead of Love Is Noise by British rockers The Verve.
Albarn and guitarist Graham Coxon announced this month (Dec08) they are reforming Britpop pioneers Blur after a five year hiatus. The band’s comeback shows in London’s Hyde Park in July (09) sold out within minutes.
