Country singer TAYLOR SWIFT is bedridden and in agony after undergoing surgery to remove her wisdom teeth.
The 19-year-old was put to sleep for the operation, but has suffered such pain since that she has been unable to get back on her feet.
Writing on her Myspace blog, she tells fans, "So I’m laying in bed, half asleep… I’m feeling it (pain). It’s forcing me to sit still for a few days, which I probably needed." Swift has thanked fans for helping her to stay positive as she recovers from the surgery, adding: "I got my wisdom teeth taken out, went into a never-ending sleep… You gave me something really wonderful to wake up to."

WHITESNAKE frontman DAVID COVERDALE has urged LED ZEPPELIN star JIMMY PAGE to record a new album using a variety of different guest vocalists.
The Kashmir hitmakers announced in October (08) that they plan to tour in 2009 without Plant, who has opted out of the reunion shows. The band are reported to be auditioning singers to take Plant’s place for the concerts and a possible new album.
But Coverdale, who was recently forced to deny his own band would be opening for Led Zeppelin on tour, is adamant that a reunion with a new full-time singer wouldn’t work.
And the star admits he has been talking to guitarist Page about the possibility of recording new tracks with a series of different vocalists because he and Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott would love to collaborate with the legendary musicians.
He says, "My suggestion to him when I saw him in the summer was to do what Carlos Santana did with (1999 album) Supernatural. Get a selection of people in, because there’s no question John Paul Jones writes f**king kick-a** music.
I said Joe Elliott and me would come in and do a track rather than the focus be on one person.
"Will people be willing to see three-quarters of the family with a guest - a cousin twice removed? I’m as curious as anyone to see how it works out…
Change is good as long as you f**king deliver. I hope it comes together for him (Page) because he deserves it."

COLDPLAY took inspiration from their heroes when they were starting out - they copied JEFF BUCKLEY for their hit 2000 single SHIVER.
Frontman Chris Martin admits the band subconsciously took inspiration from their music idols when they were writing songs in the early days of their career.
He says of Shiver, "It’s a blatant Jeff Buckley attempt. Not quite as good, that’s what I think. We were 21 and he was very much a hero, and as with those things it tends to filter through." The British rockers are facing a lawsuit from guitar great Joe Satriani, who has accused the group of copying segments from his 2004 instrumental If I Could Fly for their 2008 hit Viva la Vida.

GUNS N’ ROSES frontman AXL ROSE has slammed the makers of popular video game Guitar Hero for allegedly using the band’s songs without permission.
The singer has written an open letter criticising manufacturer Activision, claiming his hits Welcome To The Jungle and Sweet Child O’ Mine are used in the game in an "unauthorised state".
Former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is heavily involved in promoting the Guitar Hero game, and Rose admits that although the guitarist does have the right to perform the songs they created together, Activision should not play on Slash’s former links to the band to help sell the game.
The letter reads, "Him (Slash) being (in) Guitar Hero’s fine but not when Activison is using ‘…Jungle’… unauthorised.
"I wasn’t broadsided. I read about it as it moved along but Activision continually denied it right up to the release. That’s some low life chicanery on all their parts.
"Yes, Slash was in Guns and on ‘…Jungle’ and he has rights to perform it, but not to be represented in this context in association with Guns. And since they weren’t granted the license it’ll take some sorting."

A trial date has been set for the battle between a trustee for HEATH LEDGER’s daughter MATILDA and a U.S. life insurance company - after the firm refused to pay out on the late star’s $10 million (£5 million) policy.
ReliaStar Life Insurance Company were expected to pay the sum to a unnamed trustee for the late actor’s daughter, who would hold the money in a trust for the youngster, whose mother is actress Michelle Williams.
However, despite the New York City Medical Examiner ruling that Ledger died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at his New York apartment in January (08), executives at the insurance company insisted on investigating the possibility the actor took his life.
They then refused to pay out on the policy, stating they were "entitled to investigate Plaintiff’s claim to determine if the ’suicide’ provision is applicable’".
If the company’s probe found Ledger’s death to be suicide, the policy would be void, apart from the premiums the star paid into it while still alive.
The trustee for Ledger’s three-year-old daughter filed a suit against the company, accusing ReliaStar of acting "maliciously, fraudulently and/or oppressively… depriving plaintiff of the insurance policy benefits".
And now, a trial date has been set for 29 August 2009.
William Shernoff, a lawyer for Ledger’s estate, tells the New York Daily News, "We think (ReliaStar) is acting in bad faith. The official report ruled it was an accidental death."

SIMON COWELL is desperate for BRITNEY SPEARS to perform on the forthcoming season of AMERICAN IDOL - even though the pop superstar was heavily criticised for her recent appearance on U.K. TV talent show THE X FACTOR.
The music mogul was delighted when he persuaded the singer to perform her comeback track Womanizer on his hit British show in November (08) - her first U.K. TV performance in more than four years.
But Spears’ set came under fire from critics because she opted to mime so she could concentrate on her complicated dance routine.
However, Cowell wasn’t put off by the performance - insisting the star tops his list of acts he’d love to see on the upcoming eighth season of American Idol.
He tells MTV, "She would, literally, be first on the list as far as I’m concerned in any capacity. I would love to see her mentor the contestants, but if she doesn’t want to do that, and she wants to come on the show and perform, I would welcome her anytime.
"The buzz we had on our show (The X Factor) when she came on was extraordinary. And even with all the stuff that’s gone on with her the past two years, there was more excitement and interest in her than I’ve seen in anyone in years. She would be very, very welcome."

ANGELINA JOLIE has denied she has drawn up a $200 million (£136 million) pre-nuptial agreement ahead of a rumoured wedding to her partner BRAD PITT.
America’s Star magazine recently reported that the couple is currently making plans to walk down the aisle, with the pair signing a multi-million dollar contract detailing how they will split their property, finances and custody of their children if they later break up.
But a representative for Jolie has slammed the reports, telling Us Weekly.com, "There is no truth to any of these claims." Pitt recently admitted he would consider marrying Jolie "if we feel it’s important to our kids."

Pop star ROBBIE WILLIAMS was inspired to relaunch his music career after a recent visit to Britain made him realise how much he missed his native country.
The Angels singer has shunned the spotlight in recent years, moving to Los Angeles to escape life in the public eye back in the U.K.
But he has now decided to return to his country of birth, reportedly buying a new house in England after five years in L.A.
And the star admits that as soon as he returned to visit friends and family, he realised he wanted to head back to Britain.
He says, "I’ve had enough here (L.A.) for now. It was my recent trip to England that did it. I felt plugged in. Roots! I really miss it. For all its c**p weather, I need to be among Brits again.
"That not a slight to my current hosts, indeed I’ve been to some wonderful places and met some amazing folk here in the U.S. It’s just that Los Angeles isn’t America. Back in Blighty (Britain) I listened to the radio in the car, watched what and who was on telly and then it all came back. Ambition that is, I wanted to put out an album the next day."

Socialite KHLOE KARDASHIAN has defended her history of wearing fur - insisting she only realised the brutality behind animal pelts when she was approached by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
Kardashian is the latest spokesperson for the animal rights organisation and came under fire this week (beg15Dec08) after old photos emerged of her wearing a fur coat.
But she is adamant that she only "swore off" fur after a PETA video explained where the materials for her luxurious jacket came from.
She says, "As some of you might have seen today, there are several people who have taken to the web calling me a hypocrite and posting photos of me wearing fur. The reason PETA approached me initially is because in my past I did wear fur and they wanted to educate me on the brutal ways in which animals are skinned for their pelts.
"I was so horrified that I immediately swore off fur. I just wanted to let you know the real story behind my conscious decision and compassionate change of heart. I have changed my ways and I hope that many other people will as well."

INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL has topped a new poll of this year’s (08) most gaffe-prone movies - with a staggering 64 continuity blunders.
Harrison Ford’s whip-cracking return to his hit adventurer franchise came first in a new survey by film website moviemistakes.com.
Fans spotted a huge number of mistakes in the Steven Spielberg movie including the use of a Harley Davidson motorbike from 2000, despite the fact the film is set in 1957.
Other blunder-filled films include box office smash Mamma Mia! and Heath Ledger’s last full acting role as The Joker in Batman movie The Dark Knight with 44 and 43 mistakes respectively.
Jon Sandys, Moviemistakes editor, says, "With the budget of many movies, you’d think they could avoid mistakes like this, or at least use computers to cover them up, but they keep cropping up, and eagle-eyed movie fans keep spotting them." Rap sensation SOULJA BOY has promised to change his bad boy ways - he’s quit swearing to be a positive role model for his young fans.
The Crank That (Soulja Boy) hitmaker, real name DeAndre Ramone Way, followed in the footsteps of the his rap peers by using profanities and risque themes in his records.
But the star is determined to cut out any crude language from his future albums - after he realised the majority of his fans are impressionable teens.
He says, "Over the past few months, I’ve had a chance to meet a lot of my fans face to face and it made me realise that I got a large fan base of kids that look up to me.
"I have a greater responsibility to the kids that want to be like Soulja Boy (and) I need set a positive example for them." It isn’t the first time the star has considered the well-being of his young fans - he delayed work on his new LP earlier this month (Dec08) to donate toys to Atlanta, Georgia’s underprivileged kids.

Former BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 star TIFFANI THIESSEN has denied rumours she is pregnant with her first child.
The 34-year-old - who also starred in 1990s TV show Saved By The Bell - has been at the centre of growing speculation she is set to start a family with her husband Brady Smith.
The couple married in 2005 and earlier this year (08) the actress expressed her desire to start having children, telling People.com, "We’ve been married for almost three years, so it’s time. We wanted to be selfish with each other for a little while. We didn’t want to rush into it, but now we’re really, really wanting that." But Ame Van Iden, a representative for the star, insists she is not expecting.
She tells tells Hollyscoop.com, "Tiffani is not pregnant. (She) is busy working on a pilot, White Collar, for (Network) USA."

The daughter of DAVID BOWIE’s ex-wife has won $80,000 (£52,000) from the city of New York and a cop after allegations she was photographed naked during a rape investigation.
Stacia Lipka, the half-sister of Bowie’s son Duncan, alleged that a New York police officer violated her rights by taking pictures of her when she was on suicide watch in hospital following an alleged sex attack in 2003, as another officer stood nearby.
The cop Lipka accused - Detective Richard Vecchio - was later cleared of criminal charges arising from the complaint.
But Lipka pursued a lawsuit against city chiefs, Vecchio, and his partner John Holbert, which has now reportedly been settled at $80,000.
The New York Post reports Lipka will receive $77,500 (£50,000) from the city of New York and $2,500 (£1,600) from Holbert.
Bowie was married to Lipka’s mother Angela for eight years in the 1970s but they later divorced. She gave birth to Lipka in 1980.

Irish rock band U2 are set to make around $25 million (£17 million) if they go ahead with reported plans to sell their shares in music events company Live Nation.
The One hitmakers signed a 12-year deal with the company in March (08) which will see Live Nation handle the band’s concerts, online fanclubs and t-shirt sales.
U2 members were given 1.6 million shares as part of the contract and a guarantee that they could sell the stocks for $25 million (£17 million).
And on Wednesday (17Dec08), the group moved to sell their stock, according to America’s Wall Street Journal.
If the deal goes through, the company will lose around $19 million (£13 million) as Live Nation shares closed at $3.91 (£2.68) on Wednesday (17Dec08) on the New York Stock Exchange - meaning U2’s shares have a market value of just $6.3 million (£4.3 million).
Pop superstar Madonna signed a similar deal with the events firm in October 2007 - she is eligible to sell her shares in the company in April (09) under the terms of her contract.

Gay singer RUFUS WAINWRIGHT has denied he refuses to campaign for same-sex marriage - insisting his comments published in a recent interview were "taken out of context".
Wainwright came under fire from gay rights advocates for quotes in a New York publication in which the star stated he was "not a huge supporter of gay marriage".
The singer has reportedly refused to become involved with marching and protesting against the recent passing of Proposition 8 in California - which reversed a previous law permitting same-sex unions.
But Wainwright states he didn’t mean to make a stand against gay marriage insisting he meant he wouldn’t want to take legally binding vows himself.
He says, "Recently, a quote from an interview was taken out of context and as these things go, it has appeared on many internet sites. So, to set the record straight (or shall we say gay?), I am not nor have I ever been opposed to anyone’s right to marry - straight or gay.
"I have voiced my strong opposition to Prop 8 on many occasions and will continue to do so until that referendum is reversed.
"I myself just don’t want to (marry) at the moment and feel a strong tie to the traditional bohemian concept of being a homosexual, ie: the last thing we want is to be like everybody else. But who knows, a girl likes options. Maybe someday I will want to marry!" And the star slams the U.S. political system for their treatment of homosexual partnerships - urging the country to follow in the footsteps of Europe and Canada.
He adds, "Plus, in terms of practical issues such as citizenship, taxes, inheritance, etc… it is appauling (sic) that LGBT couples don’t have the same rights and options that other people have and compared with Europe and Canada, the U.S. should be ashamed of how they treat love."

BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE have decided to settle down in France - because their family need a permanent base for a while.
The couple, who have six children - adopted Maddox, seven, Pax, four and Zahara, three, as well as biological offspring Shiloh, two, and baby twins Knox and Vivienne - are constantly globe-trotting as they promote their various film projects.
But now the pair have decided to set up home in France for the time being, while Pitt films Quentin Tarantino’s forthcoming movie Inglourious Basterds.
He tells Hello magazine, "I’ve been dragging them all from continent to continent lately, so we’re going to have to give them a break soon. For the long term, right now, we’re choosing France.
And out of all the places the family have lived, Pitt seems to favour the European country.
He adds, "It’s good living there, a really nice way of life. It’s a place where the kids can run free and not be hassled - we have a good relationship with the locals, and it’s a good base for the family."
